well i think i just solved my problem with mod in freezer for 8 minutes first fire got screen garbling issue and cant see what it did to the resistance. now after a reset the screen is normal and resistance reads .19 even though the atty stayed at room temp guess i have a bad board or dont use it outside in the winter
Well that sucks, but it does kinda confirm what I have been thinking, that there are boards out there that have the glitch problem but not severe enough to actually glitch the screen in most cases. Just cause other wonky behaviors.

OK, being new to all this...

I have a VSrDNA being delivered tomorrow.

What are the checks for a bad 40 board?

    So far I've got:
    (1) Put TP on, set at 40w, run a day, to see if it glitchs
    (2) Watch for odd resistance fluctuation
    (3) Put unit in the freezer, without and with addy, vape, glitch?

    anything else?

    I knew I should have waited a few months:facepalm:

Here's the question weighing on my mind: would those who have DNA40 boards now purchase another? My local B&M has VaporFlasks coming in today and I've been considering getting one.

i will but not till the dust settles for quite awhile. temp control is an awesome feature when it works properly but a nightmare when it dont.

I absolutely would.... BUT... If the B&M won't let you do it there, I'd get some sort of acknowledgement up front that if you find out it has glitches that you can bring it back right away and swap it for another. Take it home, slap a nice dual coil build on it, set the TP and fire it at 40W for a bit and make sure the screen doesn't glitch. Even then it looks like you can't be absolutely certain it doesn't have a wonky attitude, but I think it's a fair judge. Since getting my second board I've had absolutely 0 problems with it and absolutely love it. I wouldn't trade it for anything at this point. In fact, I haven't touched a single other mod since I've had it.

I just emailed Hana service with my observations and tests. Hopefully it's a bad board.

If not, I'm definitely not happy with the way it's constantly lowering my resistance after a 7 minute sleep. The issue and tests can be duplicated repeatedly and with same results. The consistancy and vape experience, for me, is all over the board.

I want to say that all the stuff I have posted were my observations and my thoughts on MY device and it's possible issues. Not saying they are all like this. I just shared my testing and results incase somebody is troubleshooting.

Hoping it's just a bad board.

Not sure about the freezer. I'd think the device can't survive freezing.

I have and I'll probably order a third.

About testing for the screen glitch, you'll notice it sooner or later. It happens on firing the device. But it's just very very very random. Sometimes it won't happen for a long time, sometimes it happened every time directly after battery reset and fire button. So don't count on the fridge actually being the cause for triggering the screen glitch, might as well have been (bad) luck.

For the record I have many years of real time embedded systems development and debugging experience. Just sayin`

Do these problem units function correctly with spaced Ni coils and TP off. That is the first question to answer.
I say spaced coils just for consistency in testing not because I`m convinced it matters.

i only put it in the freezer for 8 minutes i only did this to replicate the cold weather outside. i in no way recommend thay anyone do this. mine was giving terrible vape once it got cold and people kept saying it was loose connections which my test proved my connections were fine as atty resistance DIDNT change at all when atty was in freezer for 10 minutes freeze at own risk:)

My apologies sir I never meant to insult your bad connections! :)

But what is really strange is that resistance went up in the cold. Hope it gets fixed with a new chip.

OK I'll hold off on the freezer.
Although, where I moved from, its going down to 15deg tonight:ohmy:
Not much different than leaving the mod in the car overnight.

It shouldn't ever get up... That's why we were questioning a possible bad connection, full contact coil, etc, etc etc

A bad connection doesn't need to be at the post screws... Even the 510 connector base can play havoc since usually there are different metals with different properties at play (copper vs steel for example)
