Same here. I get "This content is currently unavailable".

I have tried. Fella from VF offered to swap a new unit and then suddenly cut off all comms with me.

It's my understanding that they are all at some vape convention this weekend.

It's def milled way too much

350, I'm waiting on a Hana box from fasttech too, but it's not going to do me a lot of good if I can't find a dna 40 board to put in it. Do you know who has stock? I'm guessing Evolv quit shipping while they worked out the screen and whatever other issues some(?) of the boards were having, but I'm wondering if they're shipping yet and if any place has new stock?

Sorry KGie, no I don't, I got 2 from vapedojo a day or two after release and I have not seen evolv have any for sale on their website ever. :( Try sending evolv an email?

Well I found one that says in stock and still does when I put in the cart. Never seen this site before. Doesn't surprise me there out of stock in a lot of places. The demand is high at the moment.

    Evolv DNA 40

I've bought one from bargainvapour but note the correct english spelling of "vapour" hehehe. The store is in Ireland. Can confirm that shipping times to Europe are excellent!

Anyway, I'd actually wait till shops restock, that way you can be rather sure to get the newer batch of DNA40 without the pesky screen issue. Of course I couldn't wait to order my second / replacement one, but then again I'm stupid.

Haha oh crap. When I brought up all my issues, it wasn't to stir up bad feelings and sentiments here :( just wanted to contribute my experience.

Kudos to you Kiwi, I think it is very important to get these issues out there and given the bad experiences people like yourself are having with glitched boards, it is a valid complaint. They aren't cheap, you spent good money, hard earned money, it should work as well as others do. Always frustrating when you are the one that gets a bad one. Been there with everything from bad design to bad quality, rest assured your comments are valid.

Obviously email the vendor and failing that, email Evolv.

I got lucky, my XPV and at least one of the boards works flawlessly. Waiting on enclosure to install the other board.

    Thanks for this rusirius FWIW
    Ni200 has 0.15 %max carbon
    Ni201 has 0.02% max carbon

    Fabrication with Nickel 200/201
All hot working and cold working practices can be utilized when shaping Nickel 200/201. Hot working temperatures should be between 1200° F and 2250° F with heavy forming to be performed at temperatures above 1600° F. Annealing should be performed at a temperature between 1300° F and 1600° F. Care should be taken when choosing the anneal temperature and time at temperature for this can greatly influence the mechanical properties and structure of the material.

I still see no reason not to hot burn Ni coils. :)
Like I said, you can see for yourself. Don't get me wrong, I glow them too. It's the only way to get the coils firing truly evenly. I just do it very lightly and barely glow them. Like I said, you can see it for yourself. I guess I'm the kind of person that regardless of what information I can find, when I see it for myself I know it to be true. Call it the scientist in me. Turn tp off, fire it at 40 ways and let the coils glow brightly and watch what happens. I did. And that's why I burn then gently now.

I have saved your post as a word document for reference.

By the way I tried 32 gauge and could make it work. Then I tried 30 gauge with the double pull method and Eureka - only 0.16 ohms but success is success.

I am now on my way to the store and see if I can get some tubing like you used it really looks like a simple way to do it. Also the pin and then crunching the coil so the wick pouches up sounds like a double pay off, a working coil that fits and extra surface contact.

    Hi-ho, Hi-ho it's off to the hobby shop I go... ;)

Don't come up with any better ways... my vaping budget is shot until 2015.

LOL well I just used the 5mm brass tube for mandrels to make 28 gauge 12 wraps each for .11ohm total on the dual horizontal big fogger. Took the mandrels out after screwing down the post screws and pulled an entire puff of rayon through ie straight out the salys box, no thinning and spread the coils a tad, wetted, filled, inverted and blew out the excess. It is sustaining 37W through entire draw at 410F. Way too much cool wet dense flavor packed yummy vapor for me though.

I think I've decided to wait (ouch!) until someplace that was out of them gets them back in stock. That way I can be (more or less) assured it's new stock of revised boards. (Plus I'll ask them before placing the order.) I am leaning toward getting it from Protovapor, if they get new stock about the same time as others -- based on the feedback on this board, they seem to be doing some real quality control.

Actually, I am sorely tempted to get an XPV 40 too. Problem is, I'm afraid I'd find it pretty clunky to hold (5'6", medium small hands). Once a setup gets above a certain size, I seem to much prefer both the look and feel of a box mod style, plus I think they fit in my pocket better -- ergo why I was initially leaning toward the rDNA. (Feedback on others' experience with the kinesthetics of the XPV welcomed. Please include glove size. ;) )

Maybe I should print out an XPV-sized box, tape some weight in it, and see how it feels and fits in my pocket.

Oh wait, I don't have a 3d printer yet. Rats. Too many projects, too little time. :)

Unlike shoe sizes, glove sizes are not well standardized, and I never buy gloves without trying them on. I have rather small hands -- I wear size 8 shoes and my hands are proportionate. Despite the XPV's somewhat clunky appearance in pictures, it feels great in the hand and there isn't a conventional (non-bottom feeding) mod I like better. I own two of them; both are older DNA20s. The clip is an outstanding feature in terms of making it easy to carry, and the switch-gear is outstanding. If I was still using tanks, I would buy an XPV-40 without hesitation.

Thanks for that feedback, Rossum. I think I may dummy one up out of wood then. (As for as the glove size, that was an attempt at humor -- small, medium or large will do quite fine. I actually have no idea what my own glove size is. lol)

I'm certainly a short/small guy (5'5" 140 lbs), and I'm wondering how the XPV is going to work out based on its size. Mine should be shipping this week, I'll let you know.

Glove size? Small to medium, not sure about numerical sizes.

    BOOM!
