Why does the last name on that thread sound so familiar.

You might be trading that Provi Willie. Lets go Yanks...

You're thinking they're having a bit of "premature a'domination?"

It IS a bit early to be on such a roll, but man - they ARE stacked. Going to be a tough climb for us NYY fans.

Big Wheels were introduced one day after I was too big to fit in them. That was in the 60's.

The same thing happened to me with "Marvel the Mustang." I wanted one soooo bad! i hazd a sad. I still know the song by heart.

You are a Tonka kid, Lionel trains, hoola hoop, flexible flyer, and pulled a red wagon around.

Yeah? So? And? We were poor (and didn't have snow), so out of those I had a hula hoop and red wagon. I also had strap on roller skates. But my favorite toys were Breyer horses. I spent hours outside digging out stables for them.

But your toys required feeding and could poop! My most wanted toy as a kid was (now that I'm thinking back on it) a piece of plastic crap, but it was what I wanted and by golly Santa brought me one. It was the dashboard of a car, complete with engine sounds and a horn on the steering wheel. I think I played with it for all of one day, then wondered why on earth I wanted the stupid thing.

I remember those, but I wouldn't have in a million years if you hadn't posted about it.

Poor baby, we could afford snow and lots of it. Living now in SC I have to laugh as the kids have the day off from school if there is threat of snow. When I grew up snow or not we had school the school came with chains on the back tires.

I had been to places where there was snow, but I didn't actually see snow falling until I was 16. It was one of those quiet days when big fluffy clumps of dry snow falls. I was memorized.

We must be about the same age. Just behind me too. I was BUMMING.
We had lame toys compared to what came after us. We went to the public swimming pool or played baseball and football in the park throughout my childhood. Sometimes we had rock fights until the first kid went home bloody screaming for his mommy. :)

When I was around 9 or so, one of my friends had a set of plastic army troops. Not the little ones you see now, his were about 4 inches tall. He had 2 full sets, one green and one brown, of perhaps 12 soldiers each in different poses. We would set up opposing camps and dig trenches and negotiate what other toys could be used (since I had horses, I had a calvary; he had those little parachute soldiers, but they never worked very well), then we would have a dirt clod/water balloon fight.

There was always one crying little wuss in every crowd. Jeez - it's just a little rock...

We had two groups in my neighborhood. My age, and an older group about six years older. One time, the older kids tied us all up to trees and whipped us with branches.

Revenge, which didn't come for about another seven years, was pretty flippin' sweet. Almost forty years later, it still comes up. One of my proudest moments.
