I like you too, Rod. Quite a lot, at that.

We will disagree on this subject though, and I'd be very happy for you and me to go private, and have a discussion. I knew this post would strike a nerve with Kat, so I waited until she posted before replying. I happen to agree with her, and unless we're going to restrict kids from buying coffee, tea, and (worse even) Coca Cola, I'm not sure that there's true value to the concern.

Most kids begin smoking long before the age of 18. If they're vaping instead, I consider that to be a very good thing.

Choice? That they do neither. But that's unlikely, so it might be silly for any of us to expect it.
OK, While reading these posts about marketing towards children and thinking back...

Nothing in my presmoking career from advertisers caused me to smoke. NOTHING!!!

It was My Family Members around me that smoked. Grandma, Grandpa, Mom, Dad, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Siblings...

They are to blame, Not Advertising per se.

Jim

PS I MISS PING!!!

I'm trying to decide if I like this or not. I get hung up on things no one else can see. Should I do something else with the tail? I don't know, it just seems off, but I can't discern why.

(Of course, I'm vaping my P3 while I work on this.)

My mother smoked when she was pregnant with me, so I think I was probably born addicted. I started stealing her smokes when I was 12 or so. I also bought them at that age. Remember when you could go to the store and buy cigarettes for your mom?

Try wagging the tail to the side, instead of over it's head.

Thanks! I was thinking that. I cut about 20 frames from the animation and they had more tail action. I've been working on this for about 9 hours, so I'm going to try and take a break from it.

Another sib-ilarity, Ms. Celot, and one I actually mentioned in conversation just tonite. Altho, in my case, it was when my Dad was pregnant with me..

I like-a da kitteh. And as long as his tail isn't between his legs...... 9 hours?? WOW!

My dad smoked too.

From scratch, 9 hours isn't that long for me. I made about 80 layers or so. Then went back and cut a lot of them.

Perhaps...... but might I see it again? ;)

You've probably seen it. I made it several years ago, it was my first attempt at animating drawn images. The video has something like 375 frames (which, of course, means there were at least 150-200 more I didn't use). The plot is explained on Vimeo.

When I first watched it all I could see were errors. Since the file was too big to upload at the time, I didn't see it again for about 3 years. When I next watched it, I realized I was insane. I remembered drawing every petal on every flower, searching for days for the right sound effects and pacing around my studio stressing over what shade of pink to paint the flamingo.

The upside is I now have a mantra to make me stop obsessing over details no one else sees. Stop Painting The Flamingo.

On a morning where smiles were totally unexpected, I sure did get my share here. There probably won't be many more today, but I am EVER so grateful for those I got right here, right now. So, thank you's.

First and foremost, @newboy - yes, do as @coldgin96 says, and contact ProVape. Your vixen needs a'fixen'.

>

Now, back to the digressions, but just momentarily (I promise).

Thanks, F2V. Eloquent though, I do not know...

LOLz, Jim: If ANYONE should be allowed to Like their own posts, I vote for you (with some biased leanings to TO too).

TO: I'll hear the music from your video all day long, almost for sure. And may use your mantra some too.

Kat: Party, you say? I've got the spaceship-limo covered! ;-)

Sir Rod, Master of Lube: Thumbs up, my friend.

And (please) let none of us lose sight that we're all on the same side, ultimately. And our position is the good one. If we let The Dividers divide us, then they have won.

Yes, nicotine is addictive. As are coffee, alcohol, sugary drinks, and many other things that we rarely hear arguments to Save The Children against.

I'm assuming you are already very much familiar with the Master Settlement Agreement, which I believe is at the very heart of everything we're seeing that paints vaping negatively (in a shade, in fact, that just might push TO over the edge). IF you are not though, I ask that you research it.

It's not about the children. It truly isn't. Nor was it ever. That's just yet another desperate attempt to divert us from the actual issue. Many of us who smoked began well before the age of 18, and so many have perfectly illustrated here.

All this being said, I also do fully understand that we may well find out that vaping is having some negative effect on us. But I'd also be willing to bet that on a comparative scale (with smoking), we'll be looking at a negligible percentage. And it's highly unlikely that nicotine will be the culprit.

Instead, as Kat has often said, it's that we're putting something directly into our lungs. Anything might likely be (some degree) worse than nothing at all.

But if we can somehow manage to stop people from smoking, however that may be, then society will be better for it. Of that I have NO doubt.

And WITH that, I take my leave. Not permanently, of course, just temporarily. I have some "things" to deal with this week that have already proven to be "trying" (stating low). As you've already seen, it's impacting my mood. At times like this, I find it best to lay low and deal as I must.

I MUCH prefer Happy-Happy-Joy-Joy-DP to Cranky-Old-Ba$+ard-DP. And I'm sure YOU do too.:blush:

Learn the learnings, and fight the fights. Let's keep Vape alive. Whaddya say?

See y'all soon (promise, threat, whatevs). ;)

And may all your P3IQ's remain high. :vapor:

"Return of Ping", coming this Tuesday to a theatre near you!

I thought it might be defective, and contacted ProVari. They said it was not uncommon for the memory loss, but they were working on it. Usually when the battery gets too low.

I was trying to get an idea if anyone else had experienced this issue.
I have. Like they said, it is when the battery goes too low. Sometimes I will get the warning flash and ignore it or unscrew the end cap to stop the flash and then screw it back on and Vape for however long before it flashes at me. That's when I notice it has reset.

I can't remember if it has done it since it went to the ProVape spa (a separate issue altogether).

RB - Perhaps you are correct - it isn't a given that kids will grow up and vape one day, but I won't agree that it is a given that kids will grow up and drive one day, either. Although my nephew has a driver's license, he doesn't own a car - he uses uber and/or some other services to get to school and work. In New York, I understand that it can be difficult to find parking spaces.

The Subaru commercial was funny IMO, but in a ridiculous fashion. This is how I feel the anti-vape crowd reacts. Where does it stop?

My sincere apologies, if I offended anyone.

Best Regards,
F2V

You offended no one! And I truly appreciate everyone's views and thoughts, even if they may not fully mirror mine.

Nuff said on this.

Peace, hugs and all that stuff.

And yes Astro, we should be able to like our own musings. Sometimes I quite like what I write! Yes I do!!;)

Ps: I'm on a photography forum and there's a post a pic a day thread. Sometimes when I have something post worthy (at least for my level of photographic skills), I'll wait and see if any of the other members (mostly pros there) like my photo and if'n no one does, I'll sneak in and like it myself! Feels good to admit that. Yes it does!
