I have had my provari for years now and have typically used 3.0ohm single coil cartos in a tank. This is the recomendation every time I google best cartomizer for provari. Am I correct in assuming that this will not work with the P3 boost function?

ProVape claims resistance higher than 2.1Ω will give the warning, but still provide reduced boost. I have some LR (2.0Ω spec) Boge or IkenVape cartos that measure at 2.2Ω and they do error warn. I can't tell if there's any boost or not.

I am thinking out loud here.....on paper higher resistance should equate to the coil heating more slowly. Based on that a three ohm coil would benefit from a jump start of extra power.....that being said and being an old carto tank user myself, I found that if I increased voltage too much over my sweet spot I got a burnt taste.

I think this is one of those things that you would have to play with and feel for yourself. Maybe a short boost would help you avoid primer puffs. Personally, I would not do a boost over 2.

Boost levels:
1 - .25 seconds
2 - .50 seconds
3 - .75 seconds
4 - 1.00 seconds
5 - 1.25 seconds

I have not read anything that says cartos can't be boosted. If it exists then I missed it. But as I mentioned carto batting can be finicky. So I would start with low level boost until you taste a scorch and back down.

Tell you what....when I have a minute tonight I will boost a carto tank...I only have two ohm cartos though...so you may be able to boost higher than my results.

Lol...couldn't wait to try. My boost was set to three and I put a two ohm carto tank on at 7 watts or 4.0 volts. This is a bit higher than I normally vape those.

No primer puffs needed and no burnt taste on that two ohm carto....

On an ohms to volts chart, a three ohm carto should fire best at 3.5 to 5.0 volts.

Boost away my friend and say goodbye to primer puffs!

lol I think you guys got the bubble syndrome, staring at your P3 screens too long on the battery and IQ usage heh.

I quit looking at mine, now that I understand that I needed new batteries :D
Makes sense. I didn't realize how old and used these are. Time flies when you're having fun............ with vape things

LOL...now you make me want to purposely wrap a 3 ohm coil and test it...daggone thing would look like a slinky. May just try it will some 32 gauge. It still requires 11 wraps on 32 g...not too bad I guess.

You would know if it was working because there would be no primer puffs needed.

I've never used primer puffs… except on the auto-battery 510 I built for my wife. But then I don't vape into my lungs either (pipe/cigar smoker).

I didn't do primer puffs either, I would just have to wait till the coil heated up while trying to vape.

On other news.... My Order has shipped  I will have new stuff next week :D

Ok, so it is just a couple of batteries and charger and the new END CAP. :w00t:

Question about the Tenergy charger: It says on the description that it will automatically shut off after the battery is charged to protect from over-charging. I left it on overnight for the first time, and in the morning it was charged but the lights were still on. Is that normal? I'm assuming it had stopped charging, but the light still stays on. Is that a correct assumption?

My I4 does the same. I think there is not way to tell. The I4 goes from blinking to solid though so there is a bit of an indication.

See the thing is if the first puff you take nothing comes out and you take another right after...you did in fact take a primer puff, just not consciously.

And in fact this is what I love about boost...first puff...tons of vapor....hmmmmmm

I gotcha. I guess I've unconsciously developed the habit of pressing the button a half second before I vape… always had vapor on the first puff. No wonder boost is shoving vapor into my mouth.

Edit: Yeah… I think it must be the sizzle that triggers me to inhale.

I have that same charger. Red lights mean it is charging, green lights mean they are done. If you feel your batteries when the green light is on, they should feel cool. No warmth at all. If you feel your batteries when the red lights are on you will feel a slight warmth. They should never feel hot.

And that is why I have to relearn how to vape all over again. Too much vapor for me if I use the P3 the same way as I used the P2.

Side note: I am learning my 3 key very well, without having to look for it anymore. lol
