Hey......I'm a VERY generous guy. We can have more than one Sir XXX, Master of Lube. Yes, we can! I mean, what if I'm offline for a couple days and someone desperately needs to know how to store No-Ox. It would be dreadful if I didn't respond. So, I'm fine with sharing the title.

Get 2 more people, and be the musketeers, or Knights of the Slick Table!

I just ran into a little issue with my P3 that surprised me. I was out of town for the last week and didn't take my P3 with me, I took another mod. I left with the P3 at about 60% battery remaining and left the battery in the P3. When I got back it was showing empty on the screen, so I removed it to put another freshly charged battery in. I was a bit surprised it had dropped that much with no use and was curious what the voltage level was so measured it with a volt meter. It was at 2.58v. Now that's not good, not good at all. That's draining to the point of battery degradation, which did happen. I charged it up and checked IQ and it had gone from 94 to 71, and since the fresh battery I had put in earlier was showing 86 IQ and was the same as the last time I used it I have to assume that the over discharge negatively affected the battery since the P3 seems to be showing a normal IQ on a know battery.

In retrospect, it is obvious my dumb-azz should have removed the battery and not left in in the P3 for an extended period without use. Fair enough, I'll just chalk it up to user error on my part. But I do think a mod that touts extreme battery protection and safety should have reached a voltage level that it should have shut down the system entirely. IMO, this would be worth Provape taking a look at and if it is possible think about addressing this in some way with a future update.

I do still have the original beta firmware on this P3, so maybe this has already been addresses by the latest revision. I didn't see this mentioned in any of the firmware changelog notes though so I'm not sure. It might not even be possible to initiate a shutdown programmatically, I have no idea. But I do think it would be a good addition if it could.

At the end of the day, no kittens were hurt, the P3 is fine, batteries are cheap, and I accept this as user error. So not a big deal, but since I experienced this I thought I would mention it.

I sure wouldn't consider a week an extended period of time. I've got a couple of Hana V3s sitting here with VTC4s in them, and they're still showing full after over a month of inactivity. I'm going to have to put a battery in one of my P3s, and see what happens.

I'd be interested to hear about the results... and the firmware version you have. :)

That -blank- sucks! I always turn my P3 off, overnight...but I wonder what kind of -blank- bug caused the battery to drain so low?
As a mechanic, I'd be looking for a physical/mechanical reason, rather than a programming one.
Man...if that had caused your -blank- battery to vent, and had ruined your -blank- P3...ugh!
I'd be so -blank- mad!!!!

ProVape products have active monitoring as far as I know.

I don't know how much juice that uses but it has to be at least some.

I just received mine after a hide and seek session with usps. I can feel the obsession growing with staring at the IQ but it has been tempered by the potential battery depletion issue.

On another note : My 2.5 depletes faster than my dna30 device so would not be surprised if the depletion is faster on the P3 too due to the active monitoring, but hoping that what was experienced above is an anomaly. Never happened with the 2.5

I am so over trying to figure out the IQ thing. As long as it turns on, gives power to the kfl+ and lets me vape....I'm happy :D

Me too. My IQ stays in the upper 80's to 90 at its highest. Maybe not as smart as some other Ps's here, but "smart enough" to give me an extremely satisfying vape. And isn't that all that matters?

Hows Bout We Read the Owners Manual Warnings page:

Copied and Pasted for the Lazy!!!

Warnings:
● Never abuse your ProVari 3 - even though it’s made of metal, you can damage it by dropping it.
● Have your ProVari repaired by ProVape. Do not attempt to repair the unit yourself as damage or personal injury can occur. Any repairs done outside of ProVape will void the warranty.
● Do not remove the circuit board housing from behind the front cap. Doing so will void your warranty.
● Remove the battery from the ProVari 3 if you plan to store it for long periods of time.
● The ProVari 3 operates on a single battery. NEVER stack two batteries or use batteries that are not recommended for use in the ProVari 3. Never use magnets on your batteries. This is very dangerous.
● ProVape will not be responsible for damaged atomizers or tanks. Driving them with too much power for too long or running them dry can burn them out. We recommend you start with a low voltage/wattage setting and work your way up until you find the right power setting for your atomizer/tank.
● NEVER use primary or non-rechargeable batteries in this device. Only use recommended high drain rechargeable batteries. If you are unsure about which batteries to use, please contact us or purchase your batteries from ProVape E-Cigarettes: Buy Electronic Cigarettes & Vapor Smokeless Cigs to ensure you use the correct batteries.
● Keep your ProVari 3 away from sources of excessive heat.
● Keep this device and all nicotine-related products out of reach of children and animals. Never drink the nicotine fluid.
● ALWAYS store your batteries in a plastic battery case. Never put batteries in your purse, pocket or other locations where coins, keys and other metal objects can touch together and cause a short. This could cause the battery to catch fire.
● The battery charger is for indoor use only. Do not let it get wet. Unplug the battery charger when cleaning it or when not in use.
● If a battery deforms, begins leaking or smells funny, dispose of it. Wash your hands after handling leaky batteries. Do not get the battery fluid in your eyes! If you do, seek medical attention immediately.
● Never use your ProVari 3 without an atomizer. Do not connect to a volt meter without a resistive load; high voltages without a resistance can damage the device and will void your warranty.
Do not pour alcohol into the ProVari 3. This can damage the display and will void the warranty. If you have any problems, please contact our customer service team for assistance: https://provape.zendesk.com/home

Because instead of parroting a statement we've all seen, perhaps some real world data might be beneficial.

Personally, I don't consider a week to be a "long period of time".

Define "Extended periods"?

Of course since you can run the battery down to the level it won't fire and read 0% battery it stands to reason the electronics are still running. But I too think that at some given point (for battery safety), the electronics should shut down as well simply to protect the battery from over-discharging.

The fact that this can happen is not a great thing in my book, as ProVape has advertized protection from over discharge for some time...

I agree that a week shouldn't constitute to a long time. I'm guessing they want to prevent leaking battery fluid by that warning - sounds like a generic warning for any battery operated device.
