Well, they sent it in a ziplock bag, but even then won't it be subject to drying out in that bag? There's no seal on the tube whatsoever.

This is the tube:

They want you to buy more, every time you want to re-apply it?

I don't think so...I think it is like the cleaning kit. they offer it and we buy it. The all in one shopping experience...How long does it take grease in a frying pan to dry out? Not the same thing but the consistency of grease is not conducive to drying out.

My guy mechanic friend lets his grease gun sit around and he is not careful about it or ziplocking it...hehehe

If you are handy, you might be able to reseal it...

1) squeeze the stuff toward the bottom
2) lay it down flat on a hard surface
3) put down a paper towel over the open end
4) press on the open end with a hot iron(like you iron your clothes with)

The paper towel will act like a buffer to keep the iron clean, and the iron will(if you do it right) heat seal the end closed, much the same way a vacuum sealer works.

EXACTLY!!!

RyBryLawGuyDudeMan, this is very sound advice.

This is great advice. But I think I'll roll the dice and tape or clip it closed, put it in the ziplock bag, get as much air out as I can and if it dries out (based on comments from Vape360 and others it doesn't seem like it will) I'll order some more. It's pretty darn tootin reasonably priced that's for sure.

But thanks so much for the advice. Such a wonderful community of vaping friends we have here!

Agree, don't think it will dry out at all.

I do think this stuff could potentially be a dirt/dust magnet though. I'll be curious to hear the feedback.

OK...Vape 360? Is this the same stuff?

Because...if it is it is grease. Grease does not dry out in my experience because it is oily...Maybe over many years but not in a year.

ETA: This is the same stuff judging from the picture above...I am going to just buy a tub of it and that way I know it will be sealed and last an age.

FYI Amazon also carries Koh Gen Do cotton pads. You can get a life time supply very cheaply there.

Yes, looks like the same stuff.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. This however wins the prize. RBryLawGuyDudeMan, don't know nothing about using no irons. No he doesn't!

Hahahaha!!! I always recognize your name, when looking at it, but when trying to remember it, my brain spits out a random amalgamation of "Ry-Bry-Law-BlahBlahBlah"...
That's the problem with having a bunch of friends who have Polish (and other similar) ancestry...

Ok, I checked the MSDS Sheet, and it will take much more then a few years to dry out or evaporate.... even if left open, like real open to air in a plate! not need to take precautions to seal it, other then: Keeping it away from kids and wash your hands after use!

It is:
- Insoluble in water
- Melting point of 165 F (ish)
- evaporation rate = N/A
- Flash point 250 F
- Vapor density = N/A

Ha! and do not store in your stomach... :) it's poison!

So just taking the open ended tube and storing it in a ziplock bag is very suitable. :))

as always... just my 2 cents.

Reg

hahaha... sorry Bronze, saw your post only after.... I promise not to show you the grease anymore!

Thanks and wow, quite an explanation! I'll do my best not to store any in my stomach.
