I think I read somewhere that they put some No Ox (or whatever) when they manufacture them. I could be wrong, so I'd like to hear from others.

I just left mine that way since I figured I would just adopt a once-a-week cleaning regimen eventually. Btw, leaving it this way, and with my AW battery, IQ read 93 the first day. I have had it now for six days and, atm, IQ is 84 (great). Tomorrow will be it's first thread cleaning, and I'm curious to see if I notice anything with IQ. Also, I do have some No Ox coming in the mail.

We do put No-Ox on the threads, that is what you are seeing.

Isn't a tank actually
drive-tank-001.jpg

That's not a tank either. It's a mechanized howitzer.

If you live up north and are already cursing old man winter, please accept my apologies in advance! It was a perfect day in beautiful Tampa, FL., so we went to the beach. 82 degree's blue skies, low humidity and a lovely breeze. It just doesn't get much better. So not wanting to take my perfect P3 with me, I took my 2.5. It's the first time I've vaped on it since I got my P3 almost 3 weeks ago. Not that it was disappointing, as it truly does vape quite nicely. But it's just not a P3. I immediately missed boost. Immediately. I was never a primer puff guy, but after a few weeks with my P3 and I found I was pre-puffing on my 2.5 to get it to temperature so the real puff was more like my P3.

I'm back home. My 2.5 is in it's backup hideaway and I'm ever so grateful to be vaping away on my P3.

Carry on..........

I'm still waiting for ProVape to offer us a Provari casket on their products page so that we may give our old Provaris a proper burial. I haven't used my P2 since the P3 arrived. Why?

Svoemesto just put a teaser pic up of the v4, it has diamonds on it. If it does indeed come with a p3 base, and works like or better than a Kfl, it will be my grail atty.

I bet those diamonds will look great on my P3 beta. See ProVape, people DO like the diamonds! :)

I didn't know people actually do primer "puffs" on non-automatic e-cigs. I just press the button when I want to take a puff, and by the time it's raised to my lips it's heated.

I got my P3 yesterday and have been playing with it a bit and so far it is the smoothest vape I've had yet. I have to rebuild all my kayfuns to really play with it but I Have already noticed that even without boost I run less power than I did on my e-mech. Its been a great improvement so far and the polished finish is just purdy :)

A couple things I noticed right out of the box though. All the threads had some kind of residue on them and needed to be cleaned. I don't know if it was machining oil or if provape lubes them with no-ox during assembly but I didn't test it, just cleaned it right away. Now having read all this about batts and IQ i did compare the IQ with my vtc4's and the new AW'S I got with the P3. With both VTC's about half charged IQ read 98-99. With a brand new AW I got 84 IQ and now its down to 73 IQ @ 77% batt cap. There is definitely something with the AW's that gives them a lower IQ and all I can come up with is the fact that it is a button top and that bit of extra metal gives AW's a slightly higher internal resistance, or the amp and capacity rating itself makes a big difference. I didn't check to see if the batts had any residue on the contacts though.

I also wanted to see if 360 or anyone else has used/tested CRC 2-26 precision electrical lube. I have a couple cans of it and use it on all my RC connectors to keep them from gunking up and seizing. I was thinking of using it on my extension tube threads.

I've been using Efest flat tops 2000mah. My current (2nd Efest I've tried) is at 52% Batt and still at 85% IQ and the Efest's I'm using are not brand new ones. No lube just cleaned with contact cleaner

If you read through this thread from start to finish (you have two weeks to spare right?) you'll see there are many who pre-puffed on 2.5's and lower. If you watch Busardo, you'll see him do it everytime he puts a Provari to his lips. I was never one to do it. But the P3 has spoiled me so much, that for the first time ever, I found myself pre-puffing on my 2.5 to get it to act more like my P3.

Hot Shot Boost is a beautiful thing on the P3, that's for sure!!

Provape ships new P3's with No-Ox on the threads. Cleaning them immediately may not have been the best move to be honest. As to using AW batteries, that's certainly what I use. I use 18490's, the older ones with 1100 MAH and I always get IQ in the 90 - 93 range. I'm not sure why you would be geting significaly lower IQ on AW's.

I have new AW 18490's arriving tomorrow. These are the newest generation ones with 1200 MAH. I'll be interested to see if IQ is even higher on the newer batteries.

Satin silver can be scratched by a wedding ring in a Marquis setting (pointy edges), and yes I did accomplish that although it did take some effort. Also, the v2 logo was printed and does wear off over time. The solution to all of this is a custom color. :p

The printed logo on mine wore off too. It took a couple of years, but that's what I figured the blem must be.

I guess I just don't see the point of actually puffing. Airflow keeps the coil cooler anyway. It seems like just pressing the button a second before you actually puff would pre-heat the coil better.

I'm excited about the P3, but it's going to be a couple months for me. :(

But make sure that once you've sealed it with the more complicated "iron seal" method, it still needs to be put in a pill bottle, labeled, dated and then placed in a ziplock bag. Putting it in a hermetically sealed, temperature, humidity and light controlled room is completely up to the individual user. But the pill bottle/ziplock baggy is a must!

And don't forget to hang up the sign that says "Beware of the Leopard."

I may be totally wrong, but I would think the size of the battery contributes to the IQ being lower
