Lots of good ones. kayfun probably tops the list. Get the kayfun Lite for starters. The newly released K4 is a bit more complicated.

Yeah seriously LittleBird...a kayfun really is a great device to learn on...
My reasoning behind that is:
I've seen too many people take the step into rebuilding, and go immediately with a dripper...and being that those work BEST at sub-ohm ranges (whereas Kayfuns were designed to work above 1.0 ohm), it's not exactly safe for a person new to building...lots of dangerous combinations in the math!
Also, I've seen a lot of people not be satisfied with how the drippers perform, and would have been better off starting on a Kayfun...it's basically the middle step between cartos/clearos/BVC's and full on dripper atomizers...

HB, I actually have a mech with dripper, and am the epitome of paranoia when I use it! The guys at the local vape shop taught me to build (and test. And test some more) sub-ohm coils. But I only build when I am at the shop and can have someone check my work  Truthfully, I'm not in love with dripping - but rebuilding is fun! So, it's off to buy a Kayfun :thumb:

Hell yeah!
That's very good to hear! I'm just always cautious because of all the horror stories out there, and even the ones right here, on the ECF...so many fails...

The IQ feature is turning out to be a royal pain for me.
I have had inconsistent battery life with AW 18650s and also E fest 2500s. I've tried stretching the springs and tightening the springs. I clean the threads and all contacts weekly on all of my units.
Today a brand new AW 1 month old went from 99% to empty in 3 hrs of periodic vaping. I was at work and never vape in the office.
Unscrewed it closed it up and the battery went from reading empty to 77%. Used it 15 minutes down to 55 %.
I know this isn't accurate. This isn't my first Provari but I can say that so far it's the one I enjoy the least.
The reason I became loyal to Provari was because it was consistent. I left every day without the hassle of having to carry extra batteries. Never had to open and close the battery compartment to get the battery to work.
Now I find myself carrying batteries, messing with springs to try and figure out how to make the P3 function the same way everyday.
I own 3 2.5s and they operate perfectly.
I knew exactly how much life I would get in 450 and 650 mode.
It can't be that my 6 new batteries from different manufacturers are defective. I have been buying batteries from the same place for over 1 yr and have never had an issue.
Please Provape address this issue and let's just vape.

It does seem your P3 is pretty erratic. Maybe it would be a good idea to send it back to them for evaulation. While I don't get an IQ higher than 90, maybe 91 at the highest, mine is very consistent and it vapes great all day. One AW 18490 battery lasts all day and the battery meter goes down consistent with my vaping.

I've said this before, but I do think this IQ thingy is something Provape may live to regret.

Is it just the readings that are weird or is the device actually turning off faster?

Yes I agree. I ordered 3 new end caps, 2 510 threads and a new beauty ring.
If changing them out doesn't work than I will have to send it back. Maybe I'll get lucky with one these making a difference.
My concern is they don't really have fix for it at this point. Others have experienced similar issues.
I agree with you about the "IQ THING".
I have sworn by Provape products because they made vaping effortless.
I feel like all the other folks complaining about the disappointment with other mods from other manufacturers.
Thanks.

The IQ doesn't AFFECT the battery performance...it simply reports on it...
Also, the percentage shown on the main screen is the "battery charge" remaining...in case there was any confusion.
I would DEFINITELY open a ticket with Provape and explain to them, in as much detail as possible, what you are experiencing.

It's nice to hear about a shop with a strong education ethic for a change.

It'd be nice if there were more.
