You vape by taste, not by numbers. People who say 10 watts is what they like and that's what they vape everything at, must have a very narrow range of taste. Juices don't all vaporize the same: coffee may be great at 15 watts, but cantaloupe might taste burnt; pg/vg ratios are different; what you are concurrently drinking or eating can change the flavor of your vape. He's talking about adjusting the power (volts or watts, it doesn't matter) up or down to where it tastes good to you.

Would you set the cruise control at 40 and just stay there, no matter what?

Consistent with what TO is saying, I've said this before and I'll probably say it again (yes, I'm a bit of a PITA).

I change the volts on my VV's, depending on my juice and/or mood.
I change the wattage on my VW's, depending on my juice and/or mood.
I ALWAYS vape to what tastes and feels good, and often don't even know what wattage or voltage I'm at.

The "V" in the front of the expression (Variable) is VERY important to me. The ability to change my vape with a button-push, versus having to rebuild a coil, is worth everything to me.

The "V" or "W" at the back of the expression (Voltage or Wattage) is absolutely meaningless to me.

And for any VW zealots out there, and you know you're out there, yes - I've got TONS of experience with both (VV & VW). Teets on a bull, I'm tellin' ya. Teets on a bull.

Vape to taste & vape happily. This isn't math class, after all.

And "Variable Wattage" in the way the term is used doesn't exist anyway. One does not set the wattage. The end cannot create the beginning. One sets the device to produce the desired wattage.

"Variable Wattage" violates the principle of antecedence (causality), that an effect does not happen before its cause.

All these posts warm my heart. For years the ProVarinati were told how much better the ProVari would be if it had VW, to which we would try to explain that the ProVari worked just fine without it.

Now we hear that 20 watts is a joke and so under powered.

Not math class??? You are kidding me...

Let x=x(t) and y=y(t). Suppose for the moment that we are able to re-write this as y(t)=f(x(t)). Then dtdy=dxdydtdx by the Chain Rule. Solving for dxdy and assuming dtdx=0,
dxdy= dtdx dtdy

Not The Derivative of Parametric Equations, again!

Hey guys, I think I have a problem...

So I was vaping my P3 at 12.6 watts (KFL+) and set it down to read something. About 10 minutes later I pick it back up, draw, and taste burning cotton. I look at the display and see that the device has switched over to voltage mode (about 4.4). When I entered the menu to switch it back, I notice that the display speed has also changed from 5 down to 2.

I already emailed ProVape and am awaiting their response. I also checked my build, but it was just as I had left it. Any thoughts?

Hmmm....appears to be a genuine wigging out.

Well for Christmas I am going to order the infamous NO-OX. I guess I will need a pill box and zip lock bag as well. What I can't fine is 99% isopropyl alcohol. CVS and Walgreens only sells 91%. Where can I find it locally?

Amazon, eBay, Sears.com, etc.. Or locally, maybe call electronic stores, hobby shops and see. Do you have any compounding pharmacies near you?

Is there any reason it would do this other than a malfunction?

Check to see if it has any recalls, not ones you entered, but ones that were already there. I finding that mine fires a little differently than the 2.5. I can't quite explain it, but a couple of times I've fired it and gone into the menu. Yes, I know about ProVari buttons, but the P3 seems sensitive. I'm wondering if you somehow squeezed it and it went into a preset recall. You could find out by checking each one to see if any settings match what you saw. Long shot, who knows?

ETA: Well, that was interesting. I went to my recall/presets/whatever and selected 3, which I haven't used. I have the display off, so all I see is what I call the simple screen - you know what I mean. Anyway, I selected 3 and when I pressed the button to see what the setting was the full menu turned on with one push (not the 4 I was expecting) and the settings started changing immediately. However, it did start at the low end.

I just have the chain pharmacies in my area. I'll try Amazon. I large of a bottle do I need? Here we go again but do you get your No Ox from Amazon as well or from Provape?

All this talk about taking great care of the threads. I have a Rayovac flashlight which has to be 10 years old and all I do is change the batteries on it. It works and it sits in a cold garage in the winter and a hot garage in the summer. No (No_ox) on the threads.
