I had a pair of tickets to a Chicago Cubs game that I bought several months prior...before I even knew this girl existed. Well, game day was coming up and I was in a pickle. Do I go on a date with this tall, gorgeous Scandinavian specimen with the blonde hair and big smile or do I go to the ballgame? At 26 years old my hormones spoke for me and I went on the date. Turns out, Pete Rose got a hit in that game that tied him for the all time hits lead in baseball (matching Ty Cobb's decades-old record). So I have two pristine, untorn, untampered game tickets to the game that Pete Rose made history sitting in my drawer in a seal tight cover. September 8, 1985. I wonder what they are worth? I mean, how many full, untampered tickets of that game are there? Can't be many...if any. But I know I enjoyed myself more than anyone at the game.
Her name was Charlotte, pronounced Shar-lot-a.
