Apparently Provave has learned from "some" past mistakes, moved to a normal battery gauge (voltage under load) and left the "smart gauge" concept that was smart but difficult to understand, they apparently also returned the blinking button led on low battery (and not only when it's completely drained), but some of the pissing features remains.
I've read the manual twice, and if I'm not wrong, firmware updates on the Procyon gets us back to the times when we had to say goodbye to our devices for two weeks (or more for international customers). Also, the auto-scrolling-uncontrollable-click-as-fast-as-you-can-no-mistakes-allowed menu, a feature that many were praying to be removed, something that was finally solved on the Radius, apparently returned on the Procyon.
Also the long scrolling error messages that leaves you no option to escape from until you read it all, twice, are still there..
But they're constant on the important things - that cigarette money-saver-puff-counter, that no device can be operated without is still there, and also the memory banks, so one could vape at 15 watts with a green led and at 20 watts with a purple one. I can't imagine someone vaping without this.

Too bad.. I wanted the Radius so much, but couldn't accept the battery replacement procedure that no one except Provape had the courage to design, something that looks (at least to me) is there only to show innovation. But I don't see any innovation in that thing, only complication and bad human engineering.
So here comes the Procyon, I finally thought I could get an updated Provari, but again these small annoying features ruins it all...

And it's too bad. I love Provape's quality and most of their designs, I'd love to get a V2.5 device with watts support instead of volts and a limit of let's say 25W... But I guess that again, nothing was learned from the past, and I'll have to compromise with other devices.
WoW, That's quite a laundry list...

Now, about those other devices?!?

Hi AstroTurf, I'm really sorry you're bothered that I'm not a "shut-up-and-take-my-money" guy..
That's not it at all...

My thoughts, If the device doesn't meet your needs, find something else that does.

I have not been effective in going to the Ford Store and telling them that it doesn't have the features that I want.

I have been effective in searching out and finding what I am willing to accept as an alternative, and workable solution.

Good Luck with your search, Much Success!!!

Stay off those stinkies, and vape happy!

I went to a Ford website looking for a Chevy truck and when they didn't have one, I posted negative feedback!

I have to disagree with you guys here. I see nothing wrong with a customer wanting something different or seeing imperfections or possible improvements that could be made to a product, or maybe even suggestions for new products not currently offered. Anything else is just myopic fanboyism.

But I did give that Ford Dealership 2 out of 5 stars :?:

But seriously, I would like Zen and the House of Hybrids to make a Sub-Ohm tank with P3 threading, so I keep asking for one.
What I Don't do, is go on one of his threads and bash his other products and say it's, bad human engineering just because they don't fit my personal style of vaping. :(

I like to read the Pros and Cons or thumbs up and down on a device, but I think it can be done without the bashing and the bad mouthing of others and the devices they designed...:nah:

I see nothing wrong with it either...

Although, due to my age, my optics are getting dim.

I wouldn't call that bashing, I checked my words carefully before posting. I wouldn't post it on Provape's webpage, but if I can't post something like this on a ecf forum, what are these forums for ? Praising manufacturers ? If you'd like to thank them, send an email.
I also wouldn't post if I wouldn't care nor want a Provari.

All of my devices after my last Provari was junk, no matter how much I paid. But for some reason, all of these junk mods carry a great user interface, and a even greater battery change mechanism. So based on my past experience, I expected Provape to offer both quality and great user interface. For some reason, since P3, it looks they're making efforts to show innovation in places there's nothing to innovate.

I still don't understand why they chose to implement such a peculiar battery replacement method for the Radius, and I still don't understand after all the comments from customers, how they implemented again that weird scrolling menu.. Let's take AstroTurf Chevy or Ford he mentioned, imagine you put the key in, switch it, and get a scrolling menu with options "Ignition on, signal right, signal left, headlight, radio on, etc'" and you had choose fast, otherwise you need to wait for the next scroll... Would it be acceptable ?
And how can they, in 2016, ask a customer to mail a device for firmware update when people do that alone on much complicated devices.. Even Radius customers can do that.

The battery replacement method for the Radius is actually genius.
It was designed to operate like a captive battery mod, with the minimal voltage drop that entails, but STILL be user replaceable.......WHEN the battery starts to die.

Oh, and I have done a battery swap on it in 11 seconds (timing myself to see just how fast I COULD do it)...usually takes about 15-20...not all that bad ;)

Most Provape dealers have a programmer in store, like mine who will update any P3 for free, regardless of where it was purchased.

To be honest, most of us don't buy Provari's because their interface is revolutionary. No, we buy them because they're the best made, safest, most consistent mods on the planet, backed by unsurpassed customer service.

It's OK if they don't have devices that meet your needs. But you are not posting in ECF general forums. This is Provape's hosted forum, paid for by Provape.

No offense, but since there's nothing here you feel is right for your needs, there must be other non-Provape hosted threads your time could be better spent.

rbrylawski, I didn't know it's paid by Provape, but I still can fit in.
All I have to do is write some good things and how much fun I'm having with my Provari devices. That is something I can do easily. The question is - is this the reason Provape created this forum ? Are you sure they don't want any user comments (and criticism) here in order to make better devices in the future ?

while you are welcome to post what you would like to see in a provari (I used to do the same, and took some flak for it ;) ), don't be surprised if others disagree and post some sort of rebuttal....like I did with the battery swap thing. I did so to illustrate a point, not as a "look how fast I can do it!!!!", but more of a "it isn't nearly as bad as many claim it to be, and it was done that way for a very specific reason"

though I AM starting to agree with others on the radius battery meter......it isn't the greatest :p

Vape360 already explained in this very thread why the Procyon isn't user updatable. Debating it further is somewhat pointless. You also criticized the scrolling menu, which can be turned off. Further you seem to feel the battery exchange process on the Radius is poorly designed. I'd have to wager that the vast majority of Radius owners won't agree with you.

Nobody expects you or anyone to wax enthusiastically about Provari's. But the tone of your posts seem nit-picky to me and lacking of courtesy in a supplier hosted forum.

I do know Provape well and we are all welcome to make useful and constructive suggestions. Wrapping them in veiled criticism however seems not nice to me.

The battery replacement on a Raduis WOULD absolutely suck IF you couldn't charge via USB. Which I do. I haven't removed my Radius' battery since I recieved it.

It is my favorite mod out of the 20+ I own. My SX Mini M Series is a close 2nd as far as being an incredible mod. Guess what? The battery replacement on the SX makes the Radius' seem like everything's sunshine and roses.

I do love the magnetic door on my Kanger KBox Mini, but it isn't in the same class as my Radius or SX.

The fact that I can comfortably and safely USB charge my Radius, makes the screws a non-issue. YMMV....
