I wrote on my first post that I read the manual twice before mentioning the scrolling menu, and didn't find an option there to turn it off.
Btw, can you send a url of Vape360 explanation you mentioned ?
Thanks.

It's in this thread specifically. I'm on Tapatalk right now, but I'm sure if you start at the beginning or just search for vape360 posts you'll find his response on this. It wasn't an earth shaking response. If I remember correctly he said there isn't enough space inside to put a USB connection.

I will tell you that while I have had my P3 updated when a new version was available, the vape quality, which is why I vape Provari's to begin with would never have been affected if I had never updated.

@rbrylawski , I don't see how you'd be able to turn off the scrolling menu with the Procyon's single button interface.
You know you're right. I have to apologize to Mariusk. I was thinking about the Radius, which does have the option to turn off scrolling. Sorry for adding confusion.

Since I don't yet have a Procyon, I don't know if it is possible to turn off the scrolling menu on it. That said, the scrolling menu has never really been an issue to me. I set my Provar's up and Vape and enjoy with little need to change things much if at all.

Here's a link to the instruction manual for you:http://www.provape.com/v/pdf/ProVari Procyon Manual.pdf

Ok, I found Vape360 answer regarding firmware updates..
The reason I want updates is not because I need them in order to make the device keep working, but because it gives a hope that some of my issues may be addressed in the future (the scrolling menu for example). Also, as we saw with the P3, several technical issues (and bugs) were solved and improvements were made by fw updates. The acceptable coils resistance were made lower, the device power was increased, and all this without any hardware change. These limits were released by a decision only.
Earlier devices were never (and couldn't be) updated, yet they were great as they were. This is why I mentioned earlier that if I could get a v2.5 with watts mode instead of volts and a power limit of 25w, it would be enough for me. They had a simple 7-segment display from the 80's, but were fast, reliable, and carried a great user interface. When the P3 was out, I was thinking that if Provape did what they did with a simple 7-segment display, imagine what they can do with a oled one.. Until I bought the P3.

All very fair. I don't know where you're located, but are there any Provari dealers near you? You can check on Provape's site and even see if they do upgrades.

I actually think it would....it would take a learning curve, but no more difficult then the current scrolling :p
I would think something similar to the 2.5 would work - and be familiar for long time Provari users? Maybe an option to enable either the P3 style or the 2.5 style?

rbrylawski, I'm not from the US, if I would need a fw upgrade, I would be left for a month without the device. And when I get it back, I would need to pay the taxes again.
If I were wanting a device in your situation, I'd let the early adopters hash out any bugs, wait and see if any updates seem needed, then decide on it.
