My display for wattage up and down in the menu, is in tenths (one digit to right of decimal), not hundredths (two digits to right of decimal). Seems close enough :)

EDIT: OH WAIT ... shoot ... resistance not power ... nevermind ... wait, where in the menu do you see resistance in hundredths? ... and why even LOL

Something may have changed in their machining. My older ProVarii (2 years and earlier) have a much smoother feel to the threads. You might try some No-Ox.
When I remove the 490 extension from my P3 my g/f can be in another area of the house & hear it. Damn thing sounds like it needs some WD40!!! :(

My P3 is pretty rough too. One of these days, when I remember where I put the No-Ox, I'll do something about it.

The key to No-Ox is that it's electrically conductive. Key because you DO NOT want to isolate the circuit ... +<>- and that should be a consideration. I mention it since I spoke of using TW25B. Wasn't an endorsement (yep, may have sounded like one), just what I have on hand. Sorry.

No-Ox is electrical contact grease that has been used in the power industry for over 65 years to prevent corrosion in electrical connectors. It works ... very well ... and is a GREAT Provape choice for Provari maintenance ... when used correctly.

Not to hijack the thread but I just felt a bit compelled to post my thoughts on my new/first Kabuki tank (P3 version.)

It came with the standard 1.8ohm nautilus coil obviously.
I ordered a pack of 1.8ohm Clapton's & a pack of the 1.2ohm kanthal (because I'm not a fan of tight draws.

So I popped in the standard 1.8ohm nautilus coil and I have to admit I was quite impressed! Yes it's still a tight draw but it didn't seem AS TIGHT as using a Nautilus tank, using this coil though I prefer the hex screw to be removed from the tank...for me it's just too tight but still quite impressive! I didn't expect these results from this tank... BTW...since I'm using a Procyon which is watt mode only, what is the max wattage the standard 1.8ohm Nautilus coil can go up to? Only the volts are etched into the coil.

Next we have the 1.8ohm Clapton coil. Coil chimney is a bit larger than the standard 1.8ohm Nautilus coil, better airflow and I can even leave the hex screw in (I prefer it flush with the base of the tank for looks wise) and it works just fine, air is nice and I get pretty good clouds out of it. Again, very impressed!

Finally we have the 1.2ohm Kanthal coil. Again, the chimney in this coil is even larger than the previous coils above, very good airflow and once again I keep the hex screw flush with the body of the base of the tank...very impressed!

Personally for me, I do find that the standard 1.8ohm Nautilus coil is a bit too tight of a draw for my liking so I'll probably stick with the Clapton version or the 1.2 Kanthal version. But I did not expect this kind of result from a "upgraded" version of the Nautilus tank, that's for sure!

Happy to see you like the Kabuki! Bet you can't stop at just one!

As far as max wattage, without a "voltage reference", ohm's law... ;)

Nice. The Claptons I have are imprinted 13-16 Watts. I haven't tried them in a Provari yet and hope that perhaps others will chime in. I did use the Claptons in a Nautilus on an Eleaf TC60W for some time and found 13.6 watts to be pretty sweet.

Initially I THOUGHT the 1.2's were going to "be the one" ... and quite enjoyed them for a time on an Odessey at 16.1 watts. My 1.2's are imprinted "15-20W".

I've since settled on the 1.8 and enjoy them most in the Nautilus Mini for sure ... and Kabuki so far. I use the Mini on an "unregulated"(?) Innokin (T18) battery and I have NO idea what it fires at, but it is one of my favorites. Currently and after only 2-3 days of use, I'm at 11.8W in the Kabuki with the 1.8 coil. My air is somewhat restricted for MTL.

It's all a matter of personal preference though. Only "you" know your equipment and what works for "you".

Or you could just tell me lol (I don't understand how to use ohm's law and have no desire to learn it.)

Totally agree.

IMO, 1.2ohm coils are completely useless. I love 1.6/1.8 ohm Nautilus coils as well as many different 0.15-0.5ohm coils from Crown, Kanger, Tobeco, Aspire Tritons., etc.

1.2? For me it's just a complete waste of time. Bad draw, bad flavour, etc.

YMMV of course...

Ok, tell you what, since you don't care to learn the formula, I'll tell you what I've ascertained for now. I have five Kabuki's in rotation. Four of them have HH rebuilds installed and I use watts for those. I use volts for the, "normal" coils which the only tank I have one installed in is my mobile SS tank which is empty so it will have to wait until I leave the ranch and fill it again. For now, I can tell you this: Currently, I have it set to 4.4 volts and given the fluctuation in resistance I've noticed the watts being anywhere from 9.7 to 10.1
Maybe someone else can chime in and tell you what you want to know before I do.
If the resistance never fluctuated from 1.8, the max watts would be 13.8

What's a HH rebuild?

I am assuming HoH, but no idea what the "rebuild" part is.....

Do yourself the same favor I did me...(is that grammatically correct?)

Download the FREE GE Apprentice app.

There's a conversion page that lets you do this:
052acdf85dea6bc79f58778a6db3902a.jpg

Press CALCULATE:
5c09b38717d5ba8dfc4e87cf04436c45.jpg

And voila! You've Ohm's Law'd all by yourself! Without this, I'd never have found my sweet spot.
The simple principle behind Ohm's Law is: A triangle. If you have only two parts of three, you can find the third, with different maths.
EXAMPLE:
1 + 2 = 3........3 - 1 = 2.......3 - 2 = 1

This isn't how it actually works, but it's KINDA like that.

Lose the "me" and it's correct.

I used to have that same app on my phone, but got rid of it. There was far too much information I didn't care about that I found distracting. I still prefer my power wheel - Ohm's law, Joule's law and it makes me smile.

Well, for grins last night I put a 1.8 Clapton in a Kabuki and mounted that on a P3. I slowly over a couple of hours, with a puff or two at each stop, ran it up to 15 watts from six. It's nice. Maybe the taste is little better than a standard 1.8 coil at nine watts. But not enough better to run through more juice. And the greater cloud production doesn't tickle my tuna either.

Has anyone used a Ti Kabuki on a satin silver Procyon? Or have a photo? A couple of members here will think I'm really nuts were I to buy a Procyon considering the number of ProVaris I already own. But I like to ponder things.

Last night I put a Ti Kabuki on a satin silver Mini. Aside from the polished ring between the two, the color match was, at least to my not great eyes, an exact match. I would assume the same with a Procyon. But I'd still like to see a picture if someone has one. Thanks.

I think I've seen only one person effervesce on Clapton's in a Kabuki. The vast majority are more on the meh, side. So, I just don't have any desire to even buy some to try myself.
Liking your post as "effervesce" is one hell of a word and vastly underutilized. Thank you for bring it back! :thumb:
