Received my Stealth Radius and matching Kabuki this morning and have just opened a ticket with Provape.

The Radius is showing an error message:
PROBLEM
OUTPUT CURRENT HIGH [2]
TO FIX
REPLACE ATTY AND TRY AGAIN

Wonderful.

Emptied the Kabuki (only P3 atty I have) and changed the nautilus coil for a fresh one (genuine)
Same error
Changed the battery for an AW 18650
Same error
Took the Kabuki off the Radius - same error with nothing connected to the P3 connection.

Put an ohm meter across the base of the Kabuki - nominal 1.6 ohms.

I had the Radius set to 8.4 watts.

Ran the update software, which picked up the Radius with serial number - Software V20.

I can't see anything else to try (ideas welcomed!), hence the Provape ticket.

That part's the key - seems there's a short. I assume you've already closely inspected the P3 connector on the Radius to make sure there isn't any debris causing a short, but if you haven't, that's about the only thing I can think of you could try.

Thanks for the suggestion, John - inspected very carefully and cleaned with 99% isopropyl. I think it has to be an internal fault and if so, I'm disappointed to have spent $250 and received a non-functioning unit. I did not expect that from Provape.

Sorry to see this and I know it's very disappointing to wait excitedly for something, to not have it work correctly. The good news however, is who you bought it from. There's not another company in the vaping world who will work harder to make it right for you than Provape. Unfortunate things can happen, even to high end products. My brand new 2016 Mercedes had to be flat bedded back to the dealer the first week due to some internal computer issue. Just like Provape, Mercedes fixed it and made it right. Provape will do the same.

Thanks - ticket already submitted. Given what I know of Provape, I have confidence that they will take care of this.

Never even got to taste the Kabuki!

Then you have something pretty darn tootin terrific to look forward to! A kabuki on a Provari is about the bestest experience one can have!

Check the kabuki for an errant shaving. It very rare but it can happen.

Good thought - appreciated! Problem is that the fault occurs with nothing connected to the P3 on the Radius - HIGH CURRENT / change atty. The P3 connector is clean and open - there should be zero current flowing in that state. The ohm meter showed 1.6 ohms across the Kabuki P3 connection, so it's not shorted.

But still, 2 people in a row have to send it back. That's something you would expect with a cheap Chinese mod, not a ProVari. Even you must admit that.

Really????? I'd wager the defect rate on ALL Provari's is likely the lowest in the industry. What you have here are two noted exceptions out of literally thousands upon thousands sold and in use around the world. My issue is with you taking a cheap shot at Provape, after Provape so graciously offered to help you personally. What company have you bought from where the company reached out to you publicly to offer assistance? Do you think an executive from your beloved YiHi would do something like Provape did today? I didn't think so..........

Magnepan, Electrocompaniet, Musical Fidelity, MSI, Asrock, Panasonic, AMD, Mafell, Festool. Okay, they're not mod manufacturers but it's not like Provape is the only company who does it.

Of course there are other good companies who care about their customers. You have nice taste in electronics. But that isn't what I was asking you. This is a forum dedicated to Vaping equipment, specifically made by Provape. You keep telling us of the virtues of your DNA's. What forum do you belong to in which a customer who has an issue with their DNA will hear directly from a principal within the company? Was that clear enough for you?

you should show those companies this thread Lem ... they can learn how customer service is done first class

unless of course, they already reach out to customers like ProVape has done here

As I posted earlier, I call total bullshat. I would go as far to accuse Lemtool of damaging the device intentionally. I know most here would not say it because they are kind and polite people, but my social filter has been broken for years. Don't like the accusation Lem? Tough shat.

It is amazing how sometimes everybody can be correct simultaneously.
Yep, a relatively expensive mod should be flawless. Yep, considering how many they do produce, one doesn't hear about many with flaws. Yep, they do go out of their way to help and to fix defects/errors. Yep, other great companies also stand behind their products, and intelligently provide excellent customer service.

Lem, I have no doubt that your situation will be well taken care of by Provape.
I've only been participating in the Provape thread for two or three months now, so our paths haven't crossed before. Forgive me for asking: what exactly is the image you use as your avatar? Comes across as fairly hostile, which I'm sure wasn't your intention.
