I'm thinking if it's a choice between the Kabuki becoming obsolete or people being able to use them going forward Zen~ might have a change of heart.
Well, I'm just gonna say I'm not holding out hope for a might; especially considering as I was saying before, he's been dead set against it; even in the face of deeming regs & hasn't been around here in a while to even state anything in regard to the future of the Kabuki.

The place you ordered from- Are they sending a replacement since the 1st was lost?
Yes, they said that they would, Lexi. They are a good merchant, so I have no fear that the problem won't get fixed.

I bought 2 Kabuki tanks. Sold one and may do the same with the other. I prefer various Kayfuns and don't think the Kabuki is any better than a nautilus tank. I actually prefer the Nautilus. YMMV.
Hmmm...well, I have four Kabuki and eight Nautilus tanks. I like the draw on both, but I love the 5ml tank on the Nautilus, so take that for what it is worth.

There hasn't been a day when at least two Nautilus tanks were loaded, locked, and in use.

And I expect it will be quite some time before that day comes. [emoji106]

the main reason I never bought a Buki ... I figured the coils were going to disappear one day.

The Kafun Lite v2+ fit perfect for my vapocalypse style of vaping ... something that will last 20+ years and cost nothing to vape.

Yup. Using an authentic one right now with my vanilla custard DIY that cost me under $5/100ml to make.:)

Count me among the Kayfun converts. Over the past couple of months I got Kayfun v5 and the Kayfun Mini v3, and both of them are incredible on flavor. I'm using a standard Kanthal build @ 1.5 Ω in both and a mere 11 watts and my fruit liquids are popping. I wouldn't mind adding a KFL+ v2 to my collection if I could find a Pyrex or quartz glass tank option since I'm not going back to any kind of poly tank and risk leeching.

I have to say that the quality of the Kayfuns is very exceptional. Put an authentic Kayfun on a Radius, and I believe you have a near perfect match in terms of quality and performance. Just outstanding.

Cool, with so many abandoning their Kabuki's and Nauti's that will leave more coils for me to buy.

I adore my Kabuki's and my Nauti's are in semi-retirement, but are not totally abandoned. Even though I'm usually pretty good with my gear, I have destroyed one nauti with a fall and another one has a stuck air flow and seems to show signs of simply wearing out.

With this in mind and the then looming deeming in mind, I splurged and got a Kabuki a year ago due to all steel construction and limited number of parts to stock. No regrets at all and now I have spares. :)

They look pretty sweet on my Radi too.

I liked the Nautis Provape threw into my Radii order so much, that I ordered about 20 boxes of coils and a couple metal replacement tubes. I like how they vape, and like even more the idea of loaning out easy drivers to family and friends. I have five P2.0s and 2.5s for loaners, so also ordered some cheap FT clown type tanks. But I'm not gonna be spending $3,000+ for a lifetime supply of coils.

How are you liking those gennies, Soldier? Would love some pics! :)
Just received them today, haven't received my white/bronze radius yet. These are my first gennies, I have a KF4, and an Erikoenigin so I am used to rebuilding, but this is a new to me. I watched the two vids, and this a whole new ball game, but I am about ready to give it a try. They came with mesh and wire, but I don't know what gauge and count they are. What do you like? I am an old man (81) and my eyesight and manual dexterity aren't what they used to be, but I'm curious and want try, so we'll see what happens. I'll keep you posted.

August 8 is just three weeks away, we haven't heard a peep about any possible re-build kit for the Kabuki yet. I seriously doubt it's going to happen. As of Aug 8 a PMTA would be required for introduction to market. We are just 21 days from the point of, NO NEW PRODUCTS without a PMTA...

Nor any for the ZNA Pro either.

When I first heard of the Pro I set money aside for one since Zen has never built anything I didn't like.

But now, looking to the future, I've used the money to buy some Kayfuns and some building supplies.

The FDA deeming is so horribly wrong on so many levels...

I'm delighted to help out! I decided to stick with gennies even though they've largely fallen out of favor, because I want to spare my lungs particulates. I also think they're just tastier to my 55 year old buds. I use mesh exclusively.

They likely included a bit of 400 holes per inch mesh, which is in the middle. Smaller number is better for VG, larger for PG. 400 is perfect for 50/50. You can also use silica. I DIY at about 80% VG, 10% flavoring, 10% distilled water. 325 is my favored mesh.

I also favor a higher ohm coil, typically between 1 and 1.3. I'm playing with different diameters, and use a coil jig for that. EDIT: I use 28ga Kanthal, although they prolly included 30ga. Watch the posi screw, it tends to loosen. I've built at both 2.5 and 3.0 on the 'Lon. Barely spaced 3.0 is hitting a sweet spot; that's visibly larger than the wick, but it's working well. Some people prefer building on the wick, but I always seem to get it too tight for the thing to wick, which is key for gennies. My goal is to get it to wick without having to hold it at an angle.

You'll have to roll your wick from the included mesh, which can be tricky. There's a sweet spot with rolling as well. Some people prefer to roll around a tiny bit of silica or cotton; this is said to improve flavor and wicking. I've never done that so have no advice. I roll by turning over a corner as small as possible, and roll as tightly as I can, leaving a bit of air space in the larger atty hole. Don't forget to torch the mesh before and after rolling! Also, don't forget to carefully line up the cap so that the build doesn't touch the walls of the chamber.

A good build can last for months if you dry fire once in a while to clean it. If the mesh is really grundgy, you can soak in Everclear or brush it clean. I still use a wick I made 2+ years ago. Holler if I can be helpful!

I'm holding off ordering a third and fourth Radius until the day before the deeming date, just in case Provape introduces another surprise. I'm praying for a mini or side by side. I vape at 11 to 12 watts, so I couldn't care less if they intro another higher wattage model. Just come out with something I can completely hide in my petite old lady hand, and I'll hit go. Definitely purple, and either red or blue, satin silver, clear CZ, anyone? :)

My 1st gennie was the RSST tank- it was just ok but not enough for me to invest in other gennies until I saw the Diablo Hybrid Label Series. I rocked the same mesh in there for a year & when I did change it, I used ceramic which also stayed in for a year.

Wow!! Those are gorgeous, Lex!

Once I started having trouble a couple years ago getting my beloved Ikenvape cartos, I bought three z-atties, which were my only setups on three provis, p2.0s and a p2.5 mini. I think that was in about November 2013.

I decided to buy a couple Nauhualons many months ago, based on reports that they wouldn't leak on their sides, and fell in love with the tight draw. I was lazy and pulled the mesh out of my ZAPSs--those are over 2 years old, and still going strong!

I wish the tank was bigger on the Lons, cause 2 ml is just too small. I also love my Sat22s, which barely leak at all. Not so crazy about my Krakens, mainly because they're loud, and I can't get the air flow tight enough without shutting it off. BTW, I decides against the RSSTs, because several folks said they leak like the ZAPs. I've never heard of the Diablo.

I never tried ceramic, but I did use triple loop silica builds on the ZAPs for several months before ditching in favor of mesh. Silica makes me nervous, since you need to swap it out once it starts to fray. Mesh lasts and lasts, like you said.
