I tried cc with stock coil installed in a free Nauti PV included in my Radii order. I think/thought it's a 1.6 ohm coil, so I followed the directions to the letter, G1 up to G7, then backed off to G5. Got an error msg to switch back to VW at G4. I'll try again, starting at A1 ... letting it cool to room temp between each alpha setting. Thanks for the guidance!
The error to switch back is what it says when he coil goes dry as far as I can tell. If you wait for it to wick it should work fine. See if that's the case. It's not terribly intuitive if they do display that message with A dry coil. Every time mine has paused to rewick and cut me off its said the same error
Good post. Thanks.
The reason why I gave up on TC was due to it being a PITA and not working any better than VW/VV in my Snow Wolf, RX200's and SX Mini M.
I may try it with SS and Nichrome wire for S&G.
Wel I have to be honest. My nichrome build. The same one. Is not working at all now with coil control. I removed the tank to fill it and it's refusing to work. Resetting to a7 doesn't even work. So ok not sure what the issue is considering I have it enough time to get to room temp.
I'm switching to 316L in a minute as it should be much more consistent. Nichrome 80 isn't really considered a temp control material.
Regarding your experience with tc prior. I've found that almost without exception any included material mode doesn't work well. I have to enter values in manual
Mode to get s good vape.
The absolute best tc material I've found is nife48 from Zipif.de
It's a little inconvenient to order from eu if kite in the USA. But that wire gives me results transparent to wattage mode with all the benefits of tc. Without fail it works every time. It has a big enough differential to be read easily. No rattlesnake power. Good flavor.
The only reason I'm mucking about with others is that I happen to have 2000 ft of 316L. I don't use stainless in contact coils. While t seems like it will
Work it never does without hot spots. I find in general I prefer the vape I get from spaces coils. Even kanthal. I tend to subscribe to the idea that unless you're making a proper microcoil (1.5 mm or less id) or have super limited space there's no point in making contact coils. I find density in particular is much better with spaced coils. With limited exception in temp control you have to space the coil. In case you were unaware. Nife48 works in contact coil mode I've found. I believe USA sold nife52 is the same thing but not positive. Does have the same tcr
If you're patient order some nife48 from
Zipif. If you want to wait I'll actually do my next build with it on the radius. I haven't tried the other nife wire available in the USA. It may be just as good. May not be. If the goal is to get w vape just like wattage mode with the dry burn protection of temp Control. Grab that wire. In your other mods which can accept manual entry the tcr value for it is .0405. Which as you can see is far greater than the .00089-00092 of stainless. The larger that number the better temp Control works typically. Stainless is one of the lowest. The lower grade stainless works better and has a higher tcr value because it contains nickel i believe. Everyone runs to implant grade surgical stainless when's e reality is anything food grade (304) or above is going to be clean to vape. Higher grade is just More expensive with a worse tcr value.
If you want to pm me i can send you a list of tcr values to enter in non DNA temp control mods for popular wire types. They apply to yihi chips. Evic. Istick etc. single values as opposed to csv like the DNA chipset uses.
Sorry for the length of my posts. I'm trying to be helpful for those who may be less familiar.
Here's the nife48 I like. 100 meters is €21
10 meters is €5
NiFe48 Wire 0.32mm / .0126" / AWG 28
I'd recommend given the ordering process you order the big spool. If you don't want it I'll buy it from you. Im Going to order some
More Myself. Almost out !!
