Another theory that's been put forth is that they're getting rid of old inventory and discontinued products to prepare for submitting their products list to the FDA. If the "going out of business" theory is plausible, then so is the theory of preparing to comply. It's a bit pointless to react to a theory that, so far, is only based on rumors and speculation, in my opinion. But then, the internet is full of reactionary people, so I guess it's be expected.

I understand your logic, but the tripping point for me is that it would take 10 minutes to release a statement explaining the stock reduction. I can't think of any downside for such a release and in fact I'd think it would spike sales as people felt some urgency to get the closeouts.
That no statement has been issued shouts pretty loudly to me.
