That new kayfun Mini V3 looks like a nice match for the P2/2.5 with the beveled tops...especially in mini mode.
I've got one coming from England. If its anything like a kayfun 4 (and it looks to be) it should be great on the angled Provi cap. Now I just wait for Customs. I've had a Dani Box sitting at O'Hare Customs since thursday morning. Oh the speed.

the hundred and more tanks cost about five dollars a year to run as where a clearo is fifty to a hundred a year in coils. my inner cheapskate is showing.
Oh, I get it. I am a RBA/DIY coil guy generally. I guess I am just lucky I like my Aromamizer, Kangers and Crowns.

Haven't tried a Kabuki or an authentic Kayfun. Maybe that is a good thing financially.:)

For those of you that have a Ghost Radius and would like a matching micro port cover, I found these at Amazon that are a very good match. They are just a little spendy compared to some others I found, but the near prefect match made it well worth it to me.

Got my radius in two days ago along with a kabuki. Here is a picture of the growing family. Really love the radius and the kabuki works just fine on the p3. Really wish they would spill the beans on the new products.

I love me some zombie. The zombie P3 is such a cool looking mod. Love mine.

Thank you for replying. I'm in no way trying to be argumentative. Just wanting to figure out Provapes design. I would've thought they would have stuck with what they know as being a good material. Metal. I have been carrying a Glock since 1996. Its a polymer metal mix like the Radius but it doesn't deal with voltage. When my batteries run low I want to be able to change them not wait on a hour or more charge. I just feel that the removal of they bottom plate to change batteries with cause too much wear and tear on the negative terminal that there.
I do want this mod. I would pay extra for an all Ti Radius with a single battery thumb screw. And keep the mini port for updates.
The bottom plate is not the negative contact. It just holds the spring that puts pressure on the contact plate, which is hard wired with a high purity copper wire directly to the board. It's pretty damn tough. 16mmx 3mm contact plate will be hard to damage

Yep. I noticed that. Bottum plate has a spring that pushes up on brass negative post. Its that dangling wire that kind scares me. I'm sure its tough.
I'm not giving up on the Radius. Maybe I will order one and see how it plays out.
I do think an all Ti Stealth Radius would be a better mod and worth every dollar. Redesigned bottom of course where batteries could be easily changed like all other ProVari's.

You audio guys are all bonkers. ;)

A little bit, but not completely off the deep end like real "audiophiles" :p

I say that as a guy that used 2 borrowed McIntosh power amps to power a bass preamp for an album I recorded. Sounded DAMNED good. Not $40k good, but there is something more to "power" than just wattage IME.

I love McIntotosh gear. I'd have some if I could afford it. My dad has their receiver. All I have is their free media player app on the iPhone!

My uncle has 2 of their older poweramps. Things are like tanks.,I think he paid $5k each about 30years ago. Still uses them almost daily.

Personally, power is power as far as I am concerned, but I will pay for quality and reliability... Just not crazy McIntosh type $$$. Different story with receivers I guess.

I say that as I watch TV powered by a $299 JBL speaker strip/sub. ;)

I do have a crazy but brilliant guy in California that builds me solid state power amps that destroy most of the tube stuff out there. 700-800w, size of a paperback book and under $1k US. I have a couple of audiophile friends that are actually using them for home theatre. All I have used for almost 4 years.

The only real difference between tube and solid state is how it distorts, and you, as a guitar player, probably know that better than most people. Solid state amps distort in odd order harmonics, which sounds more harsh; tube amps distort in even order harmonics, which is more pleasing to the ear. Each is chosen for their unique sound, based on the type of music you're playing.

In the audiophile world, solid state has far surpassed tubes in all regards - power output, speed/attack, able to drive very complex loads, etc. The trick is having enough power (think 10x what you're actually using), and NOT letting it distort.

I agree. Tubes absolutely add fullness though.

I run a 800w solid state power amp and a tube preamp. Sounds amazing and I could blow any guitarists Marshall stack off the stage. full solid state has come a long way for all types of audio though....
