I've been wanting a carrier I can clip to my belt for my Radius. I have one from VapinArt for my P3 and really like it, so I just ordered this from them. They were at the Tampa vape Convention last year, which is happening again next weekend, but they won't be here. PBusardo is coming. They've been touting that like he's the leader of the vaping Universe. If I go, maybe I'll get a chance to meet him.

I met Phil at a Vape con in London last year, as well as Dimitri. They were nice folks. We won't always agree with each other about everything, but I think they've done good work for the vaping world.

I've been to several of these things and I can't say they're good PR for the image of vaping. The atmosphere inside is so dense with vapor it's hard to see from one end of the rooms to the other, evoking smoke-choked bar interiors of old, and the average inhabitant has more tattoos and body-piercings than they have years of age. It's always disheartening to see the crowds that erupt into elbow-flying riots when free juice samples and t-shirts are thrown into the air, then vanish when CASAA takes the stage to implore them to get involved in resisting anti-vaping legislation

Yes, I completely get what you're saying.
But, I'm alone in my physical vaping world (as opposed to my electronic one with you folks and others.) So, the one vape fest I attended in London I completely enjoyed. Didn't care about the tattoos, or clouds or piercings or mediocre juices or...
It was just plain fun.

I was wondering the same.. I might order one and try it out if no one has the answer..
I've had good luck with the AW 3000mAh in a Dani Box. Provape promotes the other AW batteries and thats where I get my 18490's & 18350's. Lasts longer than the Samsung 25R and shows more mAh delivered on the Dani info menu. Got mine thru RTD Vapor. Make sure whatever you get its an authentic first tier battery. There is alot of crap out there. I have heard of some quality issues with the LG's but I don't know if the complaints have merit or not.

You took the words right out of my mind.
Some folks just like to judge others because it makes them feel proud about themselves.

And a vapor filled convention room? Yeah, they should ban vaping at those events because that makes us look bad?
Whatever.

My comment is directed at PoliticallyIncorrect, for the record.

Do you have links to the posts or articles that point out any issues of quality with the LG batteries? I'm curious because I've only heard good things about them and most reviews I've seen rank them up there with the Sony VTCs and the Samsung 25s.

I get all my batteries from RTD.. I went ahead and ordered 2 of the LG's from them so once they arrive I'll pop one in the Radius and see...

$14.50 for 2 of em and a free case if ordered in pairs... LOL

Thanks for the response.

RTD is a great source for batteries and they were my go-to for AWs for my first Provari (v2). My other sources for authentic cells are Illumination Supply and Orbtronics, both of which have decent prices and ship cases when batteries are ordered in pairs.

Let us know your thoughts once you get your LGs as I'll be very curious! :thumb:

Is anyone using the LG 18650HG2 (3000 mAh) batteries with their Radius? Just curious if they provide a significant improvement in use time between charges, compared to the Samsung 25r.

I'm using one in my Radius. In all of my mods using 18650 it has become my battery of choice. So just to try out the battery door and see if there was any difference, I switched to the HG2.

I can't say it's night and day but it does last longer between charges. I'd put it at 20 to 25%. SX Minis have a joule counter which tracks the power used, and that's what their numbers showed. It's been the case in every mod I've used them in. The 25R5 that's supplied with the Radius also has been very good and the ones I own are my second choice.

I'm amused by rampant fanboy behavior seen in this thread. AW sells a very good battery and are the only 490 and 350 I own. I think that for a button top they are the by far the best choice though I recently found that I could get 25Rs in that configuration.

But when we're discussing 18650s such as used in the Radius, according to Mooch the only manufacturers are LG, Samsung, and Sony. AW is simply rewrapping tested and trusted versions of one of those models.

Yes, AW is a top supplier. And I think Pro Vape handles their products and business in a manner that puts them among the best vape companies anywhere. But there's no need to be so devoted to the either brand that you get blinded to facts.

Agreed. And when discussing 10 amp batteries (for use in the P3, not the Radius), I would also include Panasonic in that list of proven quality cells for certain applications. I've been using a set of Panasonic NCR PFs and PDs (2900 mAh) in my P3 since the P3 was released, and they've been performing great.

I don't really get into the whole battery brand argument other than I tell people to buy quality batteries from a reputable seller..

In my case for 18650's it's either Samsung or LG's and for smaller sizes I usually get AW's..

I don't do the off name brands because I don't trust them.. Not really interested in loosing some teeth when the pipe bomb I stick in my face goes kaboom because of crap batteries.. Not worth saving a few bucks for that in my opinion.

I realize that Provari mods may be the exception to the kaboom rule as they are the safest mods on the planet but I am still not going to take the risk with cheap batteries.

I just wanted to follow up regarding AW batteries, because I think what they offer is somewhat underrated. While AW doesn't manufacture batteries (they test, validate, and re-wrap other quality cells), the service they offer is very valuable. For the average consumer who doesn't have the time or the interest to do the research on cell quality, AW is a brand that can be purchased with confidence that you're getting quality cells that have been run through additional quality checks. You pay a little more for the cells (because of the additional quality check services), but for many people, it's a very good thing.

For me, it's always buy cells from trusted (community rated) outlets; be mindful of the output ratings and the applications in which the cells are used; and always (ALWAYS!) store and transport high drain batteries in the appropriate storage cases when not installed in your device. Yes, pay the extra buck or two to get the battery cases, which should always be available where you purchase the batteries.

Well said! I buy AW, not because I'm convinced there isn't anything better out there. No, I buy AW because they are trusted, reliable, tested and not one I've ever bought has disappointed me. And with lot's of AW purchases under my belt, that says a lot.

So it's day 2 with the Radius and Kabuki combo..

Absolutely LOVE this mod and tank! I've had a lot of high end mods since I started vaping in 2009.. Well not so much in the early days as I started on Smoke 51 that I bought from a mall kiosk.

Along the way I've had all of Super T's high end gear, Billet Boxes, a Carlos Creation Zero, a Heresy, a few Provari's and plenty of other mods I am forgetting. Some I forget because I am absent minded and others because I just want to / need to forget them!

So day 2: Maybe I am still in the honeymoon phase of ownership but there is not a single fault I can find with the Radius. It's one of, if not the best box mod I've owned and that says a lot.

Quality? Yup
Safety? Yup
Well built? Yup
Sexy looking? Yup!

What's there not to like about this thing? If I nit pick it, and get very trivial with it then I'd like a larger screen on the Radius 2 (or whatever they call the next version)..

Overall if anyone is on the fence about this mod, don't be! If you don't want or care about temp control and if you don't vape over 40w then do not hesitate, grab this thing like right now!

This is the only mod that (that I have tested) has a bright enough screen I am able to see in the bright Florida sun.
Big plus to me.

If they can't be bothered to take 5 minutes to listen to a CASAA presentation, then perhaps they shouldn't represent us; in any event, have you ever noticed that the photo used to accompany a headline screaming about formaldehyde or anti-freeze or exploding batteries is never, never this:
