Hi guys! I have a question that is really important to me! People have told me that when you use a cartomizer, when the flavor lessens and the carto starts to get gets hot, then it's time to put a few drops into the cartomizer and do this around every 15 puffs. I've been thinking of what a pain this would be for me to have to sit around with a bottle of juice and put drops into my cartomizer after every cigarette worth of puffs. I think I'll vape about 2 packs of cigarettes worth a day, and that means I would have to be putting drops into my cartomizer 40 times a day!!! What has been your user experience with SI cartomizers and what should I expect? Thank you!!! :) i hope you're all having a nice evening!!! :)

Thanks, Imagine. He is the greatest guy ever. Truly one of the good guys. His brothers are putzes. Sorry. :)

I guess I should explain why I'm so anxious. Hubby was diagnosed with kidney cancer last February and had his left kidney removed in April. The docs and nearly everyone else say that the most likely culprit is the ciggarettes. This, after I lost my Mother, my Father and my Sister to smoking-related illnesses. So far, my husband has had good reports, but they tell him that it WILL be back, sooner rather than later and that when it comes back, they won't have much to treat it with. They've wanted him to QUIT NOW since before the removal of his kidney. We've lost so much to the damn ciggarettes. I can't lose my best friend. We've been married for 27 years.

Quitting has been so hard on him, but he's motivated and hates the analogs, so I am doing everything in my power to support him in getting it done - including doing all the research, the footwoork, the ordering, the charging, the carto filling/cleaning, etc... It may sound to people that I am controlling, but I assure you, I'm not - I just want him to have the absolute best chance of kicking this deadly habit.

Sorry for the depressing post.

good luck and welcome to the thread He's My Everything :)

does he have a brother? nephew ? seems like a great guy you got there...he will get there with the smokes... try not to push even lovingly..instead give incentives like his favorite meal for using it or remote control privileges... whatever works..
IMHO :p

Not sure what that 'every 15 puffs' nonsense is about. That would be nuts! Maybe their 1 puff is equivalent to 15 of mine
Mine don't start to lose flavor until I've used it for a few hours. They don't get hot unless you are taking huge hits one after another, like hotboxing a cig. But if you use them normally they last a reasonable amount of time. I never carry juice, for me that would be a pain in the .... and inappropriate to do at work. I just bring a few cartos along, when one starts to fade, I change it. I leave topping off for when I get home. Personally I go thru 2 cartos a day, might start on a 3rd one in the evening. I'm not doing non-stop chain vaping, but it gets a good workout and there are periods when I actually set it down :)

I hope this works for him. I think it will have a better chance just because it mimics smoking, so there isn't that sense of giving up something he enjoys, even tho he knows he has to and wants to. Nothing ever worked for me until I found these. Good luck :)

Hi Barb! I don't think your post was depressing, but a beautiful story of love, devotion and hope!!! It is wonderful that you are helping your husband through this rough transition, he has a lot on his plate trying to quit and making it easier for him is great! I will keep your dear husband in my prayers!!! And as far as the doctors saying the cancer WILL come back, there may be a good chance but they are not sure because they aren't God. Both of you keep hope because it's being proven that a positive attitude helps with healing! :)

Hi starsong!!! Your post brought me such relief!!! I do smoke a lot so I have no problem with filling about 3 or 4 cartos in the morning and then just switching them out as the day goes on, but that drip stuff every 15 puffs would drive me nuts! When I go out shopping I usually have two cigarettes and to think that I would have to be dripping juice when I was out was not what I had in mind! I'm glad to know they last a few hours for you. I have a question though! You say you leave topping off until you go home. Assuming your carto lasts a few hours before it loses flavor and you switch it out and bring it home from work. When you get home do you have to refill the whole carto or just give it a few drips? I don't know how that all works! Also, how do you know when it's time to throw out a carto? Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Well, Barb, all I can tell you is that I smoked for 30 years and it was the last bad vice that I couldn't quit until e-cigs. I don't even feel like I've quit, and have always thought of my Volt as a "loophole" to smoking. I'm also the most addiction-prone person I've ever met. He just has to give it a chance - in no time, he'll actually prefer it to analogs. What a lucky girl you are, to have found such a wonderful guy!

And kblush, I have five batteries that I carry around wherever I go. I fill 5 cartos ONCE every night, screw them onto the batts (which I charge ONCE every night on my USB hub), and I'm good to go all day long, with one or two to spare. I just stop using them when they need refilling, then move on to the next one. Not once have I ever had to fill (or even recharge) on the go with these. So yeah, there are a lot of ways to get around that. Amass as many cartos as you need for the day, and you'll be able to just fill/refill them all in one sitting. Put the boots/condoms (whatever we're calling them now) back on when you're ready to go, and you're good to go. I recommend the night before, then let them sit overnight, because they just taste and work so much better to me that way! :)

Thank you so much!!! You guys are totally putting me at ease! Thank you for telling me exactly what you do!!! Now I can picture what to do in my head! I'm realizing that there are a lot of ways to get around needing to bring juice with you and that's awesome! I sooo didn't want to do that! The multiple batteries are a great idea if you're going out for a long time and I really love the idea of letting the filled/refilled cartos sit overnight!!! *Which is also great so you don't have to mess with it first thing in the morning!!

I have my pv in my hand pretty much all waking hours:) If I have 3 charged batteries and 3-4 full cartos from the time I get up until I go to bed I would be covered. I probably don't really use 3-4 full cartos a day, but I like variety..so often have multiple flavors. In regards to batteries...2 would probably do it...just nothing worse than not having a charged battery. It's really just getting in the habit of charging your batteries and filling your cartos on a daily basis so you never run out...

Hi Iowa girl!!! :) Thank you so much for sharing that info with me! I really appreciate it! That doesn't sound hard AT ALL and soon it'll just be a part of my routine, a habit like you said...but a good one this time! :D
