Thanks Marlou and yes ....it is a bit confusing. I will get a wall adapter today. It if the pcc goes then I am out of luck, is that correct?
I have a battery fully charged but after 2-3 puffs it just isn't doing it and I have to recharge it. My second battery I think is defective but I am not sure. Geez ..starting to sound like they are both defective. The pcc case is the only way to charge batteries? If so, how many do most people own?
The pcc case seems to charge fine and has the battery indicator light as full.

Let me clarify what the different charging devices are.

PCC is a portable charging case which you use to charge batteries when you are out and don't have access to either a usb port or an electric outlet.

USB Charger is a charger that the battery screws into and the charger is then plugged into a usb port (on a computer or a usb hub or a wall adaptor).

Wall Adaptor is a device which you plug a usb charger into so that you can use an electric outlet to charge the battery. You can also plug your PCC into the wall adaptor when it needs to be charged.

As for the battery problems you're having, my advice is to talk to someone at Smokeless Image so they can determine if you are using the PCC correctly.

Don't worry though, we all had to learn these things and it won't be long before it will start to make sense and you'll get to be an old hand at it.

You guys Rock!! thanx for the great X-mas bonus. Tell the guys in R&D we need screw-on cattery caps , dust caps.. whatever. plastic,colored or not, so long as we can screw it where the carto goes to keep backup batts safe. thanks loads.

You could put one of the carto covers on (the one without the plug) - it doesn't screw on but would still protect that end of the battery.

Guess I'm confused about what a mod is -- I always thought it stood for modification, as in someone takes a standard style of battery and makes custom modifications to it. Cuz I see that term being used to just mean a different style of battery - like ego or provari, etc. So what exactly does mod mean?

It does seem to be working better now, I don't know..maybe a bit of brain fog or just plain stupidity. I am going to get a charger but I do love this pcc now that it's working better.

I had no intention of getting off analogs, just thought this would be more socially acceptable. It is now almost 4pm and I am having my first real cig today. It doesn't taste like crap yet but I can't say it tastes any better than the e cig? I normally smoke at least a pack a day and this is my 3rd day with the Volt. My sinus problem has gone from terrible to I hardly notice I have one!
Again, many thanks - this is such a wonderful forum and a great thread. I will call SI tomorrow.

Hi CityLights welcome to the thread... sorry there was an issue we do have a dud from time to time, but they will ship the replacement out for free. If you want to wait for the green LED that should not be a problem, they do not ship replacements of a different color without permission.....so if that happened just let me know and I will address it ASAP.

the battery may not be making a good contact with the charger... you may trying cleaning the post of the battery...

One was a big order and the other a bit later a small order for more cartos and an extra battery... in my email yesterday it said it shipped when I checked what order it was the small order... the big order is still processing? I paid a lot for speedy shipping yet the little order I paid normal price is shipped.. Im hoping they shipped both together but there is no indication of that.

The term Mod has morphed over time and doesn't really mean what it used to.
If an eGo/riva is called a mod, the term is mis-applied.

Mod did come from Modified, as in an item wos Modified from its original something else to be used as an e-cig.
One of easiest things to modifiy is a battery box, AA and AAA size boxes that can be bought from electronic supply stores.
They provide connections and are of a convient size. High capasity special-use rechargable batteries are used to power these Frankenstien creations.

Now, the term "Mod" is applied to anything that uses these special-use rechargable Batteries. Some purests have a hard time callling e-pipes, Provari and the ilk "mods" as they were not Modified, but designed for specifically the perpous it is used for.
