You know Sandy, I just remembered something! Places that sell Art supplies have liquid pens-like a cartridge in the pen's center filled with a liquid-that come in gold, silver, and some other colors. They are mostly metallic, and permanent. Metal-flake inks flow that must be allowed to dry about 30 secs. before touching. They are very beautiful inks, and are permanent. Used a lot by artists for various crafts. Maybe you have a local Michaels? I wish I could remember what they are called exactly, but it's been a few years since I needed any so don't have anymore of them. But they might work, and are fashionable too ;)

Yes! That's what I was thinking of. We do have Michael's, and I love it! I get the frames for the pictures I draw there, and they are very nice at a reasonable price.

Great idea! If you don't have a Michaels in your area, you can order them online at DickBlick.com.

I don't see how beautiful can be used to describe upper 40s. Geez, brrrrrrr! I'm chilly and it is low 70s here.

That's ideal weather to me. Any higher, and I call it hot. I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for a while, and I remember thinking it was sweater weather, but everyone else was bundled up in long down coats with scarves over their faces. You'd think it was the North Pole!

NOW - I know I can be forgetful and just plain stupid at times - But didn;t "Imagine" mention that there will be "Carto" wrapes from DM . . . AND if I am correct that these might also come with "Flavor" Labels too . . . I don't really know, but I think since we already had this discussion it was mentioned as a possibility . . . Anyone else remember this . . .

Or AM I STILL IN A FANTASY LAND and ONLY MAKING ANOTHER . . . HINT HINT HINT ;) ;) ;)

Not that I want to put anyone on the spot (* Cough - Cough * as I _ _ _ _ on my own words   ), "Imagine" - "DM" . . . but either of You want to step up and Let Us Know :D

BTW: I hope that wasn't to loud for everyone :D

I remember her mentioning something like that, too: blank cartos with a spot to write on. But they're not here yet, and I want something in a couple of weeks, so I'm looking for a pen or something simple to write on the cartos with.

78mm is 78 millimeters... or 7.8 centimeters.... it is the length of the tube on the battery without the threading or the ash cap. The cartos are approx 40mm and the width of both is approx 9mm
volt_sizechart_final_10.jpg

What was the question about the soft tips?

the slider and the mega are the same length and would have the same issue with the 78's you have to just flip them to the side and the battery will swing out...

yes you can order either PCC separately or with the kit :p

Imagine, please define '78' mm for a new person. I'm having trouble understanding some of these differences. I know that you are most likely talking about a diameter, is it the diameter of the battery? And is this the standard diameter of the Volt/KR 808?
(I really hope I've got some of this right, I'm desperately trying to get the measurements right in my head)

Also, I don't know if it was you who answered my e-mailed customer service question yesterday Imagine, but I was asking about the soft tips and am getting ready to place order....waiting for that money to come in any day, lol..but can I request the slider case when I order?
I see that one of us is having a trouble with the new PCC and the 78mms?!

thanks I will let them know :) and yes chrome and silver are the same :)
IMAGINE

I'm getting ready to order some batteries but there seems to be some errors on the website.

Under Easy Battery Select both Chrome and Silver are listed. Chrome has both sizes and all the colors. Silver has just 78mm manual batts. (Are Chrome and Silver batts the same thing?)

In the individual battery listings Chrome is not shown. Silver is shown with all the options, but the 65mm batts are the same price as the 78mm batts. I put one of the 65mm Silver batts in the cart to check it out and the price stayed at $13.95.

This is perfectly understandable with all the new products and restocking of established products, bound to be some website errors. I just thought you might want to look into this, if you haven't already caught it.

Plain white, pen-friendly carto wraps are coming soon, I think Imagine said. I'm guessing probably after they sort out all the restocking. Right, Imagine? For now, Avery labels for computers maybe, then scotch tape over it? Those wash off really easily, but they should stay put during use.

I want to write on the carto what I put in it. Other than a fancy label-making machine, what simple method do you folks use? Since the cartos are black, pen wouldn't work.

How 'bout a metallic Sharpie in silver or gold? I don't use that method myself, but others may have. Just offering that up as a possible solution.

I was thinking about that yesterday, after I filled one of my blank cartos. Sharpie has both metallic gold and silver in fine and extra-fine point pens. Another method I was thinking about was using those small circular peel-off labels that I could write on and attach to the carto. If you're not used to writing on anything but flat surfaces, this method should work great, although it won't be as pretty.

SandySu, I've never used the paint pens but saw them discussed on ECF, have no idea how to find the thread now. I use a labeler and like it. Some labelers are inexpensive if you just want to print the name.

I thought Uncle's idea of painters tape to write on was great. The narrow type would work fine and it's easy to remove if you stop using that flavor.
ANY kind of tape, removable or otherwise, will become permanent if you leave it on long enough (like 4 days or so). That blue tape adhesive gets particularly aggressive. I used it once to hold something down on a carto and it tried to peel off the clear overlaminate when I tried to remove it. Office-type tape (e.g. scotch magic) becomes permanent too, but washes off pretty easily.

might be a browser issue... you may want to try chrome or firefox... maybe clearing your cache...
I have been trying for the last few minutes to add a different billing address opposed to the shipping address over at Smokeless Image, and no matter how hard I try, I can't get it to set. I even logged out and back in to ttry and get it. Am I missing a step? Or is this a bug that needs to be fixed?

I'd love for the wraps to be in stock by Valentines Day. Otherwise, I don't want to wait for them.

Yes, I hesitated to use tape or anything to stick on because I thought it might start to peel and look bad but still not come off neatly. So right now, I'm going to visit Michael's and see what kinds of pens they have. Silver sounds like it'd look nice on the black, show up well, and go with any battery color.
