OK fellow Voltyeurs,
I could use a little help..and I thank each and every one who offers it right now
From overnight and this morning, I have come to notice a few things.
Remember that 'battery scare' about 30 or so pages back? I thought I was having the same issue, but I'm now under the opinion it might in fact; be the viscosity of the e-liquids, and not the batteries at all. (Other noobs take note here-this could be your issue and NOT the batts!!)
Here's what was/is going on.
*When I vape from what the VOLT equip. tells me is a fully charged battery, and I use a VOLT prefilled carto, my inhale/exhale is strong, good TH, and lots of smoke. No loss of charge, and the batteries seem to be holding up well to this use, hours in (so far)
*When I vape from what the VOLT equip. tells me is a fully charged battery, and I fill the blank cartridge with a medium dark e-liquid, my inhale is harder to get, the exhale is less, medium TH (coffee-espresso e-juice) and medium-good smoke. Good taste though....
Yes, I primed the carto. Yes, it is not dripping with goo...but is there some 'sweet spot' I need to hit with this? Is this just one of those things I'm going to have to learn by tweaking? I also ask because this also seems to be pulling on my batts at a higher rate, even within minutes!
I have been reading the Vinegar thread by Pinellas Pete, and I've since thinned the coffee juice a bit with the vinegar trick, but it's still not perfect.
*Do these juices (coffee) ever get 'perfect?' I ask because this is turning out to be one of my top favorite flavors.
I would love any replies, observations of your own, and/or suggestions Voltie friends! TY
*Note: By 'priming' I mean that I fill it with about 20 to 25 drops, then blow on it (unattached to batt) on both sides. Then I attach, and suck hard, short breaths 3 or 4 times until I see the liquid is heated and smoke appears...only then do I begin to hit on the carto like a regular vape.
What is the PG/VG % of the liquid? What is the nic level? I have noticed that not all brands have the same effect for the same amount of nic. I normally vape 12mg, but from some places I can go down to 8mg and others I have to go above 12mg
It's kind of like buying shoes, I buy a pair of brand X in a size 8 but from brand Y I have to go to a size 8 1/2.
Have you used this liquid on another device, if so does the other run at the same volts? Temperature will also affect what you get.

I don't think some juices ever get "perfect." With me, it's a trade-off: do I want "perfect" or do I want awesome flavor to satisfy my crazy sweet tooth? You add all that stuff in there to make it yummy and it's just more stuff to gunk up the coil and make it harder to wick. For me, "good enough" works (which is pretty darn good), and sometimes I get lucky and it is perfect - even better than prefilleds. When you fill, are you giving it time to sit (I like filling the night before)? Also, whenever I blow up into it from the threaded side, it doesn't work so well - dunno why. I only do that when I absolutely have to, then I do it very gently. What I've been doing lately is blowing down into it with the condom attached, as if to push the liquid down without letting it drain out, then removing the condom and gently blowing down again to clear the tube. Again, dunno why this works for me...
And when it's hard to hit or shortens batt charge, I don't know what happens in there with juice (if it expands or what), but no matter how perfectly you think you've filled that carto, usually it's because a tiny bit of liquid has gotten on the batt post. Even a tiny bit is bad, because I think it probably lowers resistance and obstructs air flow in there. I can already feel when that happens. Or I check it after a few hits. Just unscrew the carto and wipe the batt post down and see if that fixes it.
Ew, coffee and vinegar...I don't care how "tasteless" you tell me it is!

Will it be possible to purchase the good 2.8(?) cartos again? I don't like the newer ones, they feel "flooded" even though they're practically empty. The ones I have from back in Nov are exceptional and I have only 1 pack left wahhhhh.
Imagine, I'm seeing a slight trend in complaints with the new batch of blank cartos (dunno about them, all my cartos are really old). Have you guys checked them lately, to make sure the factory is still producing them to your specs? Just asking, cuz some of the problems coming up with blank carto filling, etc. might also be related to the resistance possibly being higher...maybe their resistance-setting machine thingie needs calibration or something...

And I don't think you have to be so concerned with them being compatible with other 4.2V batts - I used these with my V2s (which I hated anyway) and they still tasted burnt. From reading around on other sites, I think that's probably an accepted fact now, that these cartos work best with regulated 3.6V batts. That's what we have, and that's how we like it!

LOL-Cindy, you honestly DON'T taste the vinegar-it just slightly thins the liquid-try it on something, it truly works

I have to agree. I liked the 2.8 much better.
At first I thought I couldn't tell the difference, but then I realized I was still using the older cartos. I could tell the difference when I got my next batch. I thought maybe it was my batteries getting weaker, but it's not.
Edit: I wanted to add that they still work well, I just liked the other a lot more.

Hearing this, I'm disappointed that the cartos I just ordered are probably the ones that don't work as well. I sure hope SI remedies the situation. All my prefilled cartos are from back a while ago, so they are probably the good kind. I wonder if I'll notice a difference. Also, since they'll be the first blank cartos I fill, will I think it's something I did wrong or the e-liquid? I've dripped new juice into old cartos but never filled one from scratch. I'm sure it's not hard, I watched the video and will look at it again right before I do it, but doing something new is always a bit scary.

Good afternoon, wow the contest thread has really grown overnight great to see. Mr Gor , i did a google search last night on your droid , as long as you have the usb cable to charge your phone like Megabee said you will be fine. In all my excitement yesterday i forgot to say that the new skins are really awesome. I was never a carto skin fan, but after seeing some images filter on this thread and always seeing DM's signature it was starting to sink in that it would be nice. I got the cig coloured ones for sister in law and the five pack coloured for me. I remember a year ago seeing some skins for another brand but the prices were outrageous. Most of all out of everything i love seeing how this brand "volt" has grown with each & everyone of us part of it.
I have used about a handful of different juices with SI cartos since starting. Each juice with different pg/vg ratio's will give different taste/vapor& performance. The best being SI juice, its no secret that i also use KBV juice as flavours and vapor at 70pg/30vg come out really good, just with darker coloured juice i get around a week or so of refills. Usually 2-3 with clearer.
If your coming from an atty to using a cartomiser for the first time with your beloved juice.. Expect a few differences to how your liquids will preform and taste. But it doesn'nt take long to get used to and at most times juices will taste better. That has been my experience anyway

i make these myself so he has a variety of entrance & exit points and has an unlimited supply but i didnt make this one strong enough.

got all the sample carts so I know which liquids I want to purchase, maybe the carts will get here and I can try before the sale ends?

I think I really confused everyone ... There have been no changes at all made to the cartos since almost 1 year ago I think May..ish When we removed the hard end caps and made them a little more high voltage friendly. There have been no changes since to any batches...
I vape these everyday... I am lucky enough to go just grab fresh ones and test different shipments.. We have not seen any variances. There can be the rare dud pack but 99% of the time they should be spot on
If you feel you might have an issue with a certain pack of cartos just email CS and they will help you out
some other things that might cause issues would be
Tweaks in the liquids used.
batteries need cleaning
The carto may not be making a good contact with the batts (you can just pull the post of the carto down a bit and it will improve)
