Finally posted my review! Unless some miracle happens over at gourmet vapor it looks like I'm going to be outta juice and back on cigs for the weekend, but oh, well, just gives me more to look forward to next week! Going to order some RY4 to go with my evening malt beverages, who makes your favorite everyone?

I think some of the other chemicals in tobacco cigs always gives you more of the wozzy feeling but after a while the cravings will pass :)
great post ISBNBOOK...the war thing really makes sense. Even at high mg I feel as I still can't achieve the 'buzz' as like a cig...you think that's just the way it is, something you just have to get over? just wondering, as I've gone as high as 36 and I don't care for any harshness or much TH as I've always had a drink of something w/my smokes.

regulated 3.6 volt passthrus are comming in with the 78mm batts and cartos ;)

Any idea when??? Also, will the 3.6 volt Volt passthroughs be manual or automatic? And...I don't like to use passthroughs on my computer so I use them on a USB adapter, 5V, 2000mA that I plug into an electrical outlet. Will I need to get a different wall plug/usb adapter for the 3.7 volt?

:censored: Yes <-- to answer your question :D
...and thanks for reminding me :) (Don't click on my signature either :danger:)

:wub:I like Kitty Hates you:wub:

...and...

I found morning coffee was the worst!!!

I just :grr:had:grr:to have a cig. with coffee.:) :smokie:

One day, I was in a rush and I didn't realize until later in the afternoon, I just forgot to have that morning cig.

That was about 2 1/2 month ago.

- Just a note - I did give up on ecigs last Dec. after only about 4-6 weeks (I was also smoking) :cry:but I came back to them in March. and not a analog since :w00t:

I lost the first time trying to quit, because I made it into a little mental war :-xbetween ecigs and cigarettes.:vapor::evil::smokie:

Don't do that because your old best friend will always win out over your new friend... Every-time.:rules:

+ I found that I had a high nic. need :headbang:

36mg made it all work for me:facepalm:... now I'm 24-30mg when needed. 18mg is OK :glare:

:2cool::lol::lol::lol:That was fun writing:lol::lol::lol::2cool:

Isbnbook, when someone tells me not to do something, I most likely will do it, so you know I had to click on your signature. You think by now at this point in my life I would learn this, but I am just so curious about everything that I don't think that part of me will ever change. (Dammit Janet!)

half of our order is shipping today and the rest on the 7th after the Chinese holiday I am not sure which it will be in, but I would say they shouldn't be up on the site any later then the 15th assuming all goes as planned. They will be autos, and i don't see why you would need another wall adapter as this is less voltage :)

Just watched steeljan and I too am skeptical of everything...

I saw the resistance readings steeljan took and...

On a whim I took:

1 VOLT carto
1 501 adaptor
1 5volt 501 Godzilla ModBox

With the expectation of bad things...(fun fun fun)

:( - Man I can't break anything!!!

It vaped beautifully!!!

!!!WOW!!!

That was amazing
I am so very impressed

:vapor:

--Still no problems and lots of vapor -- no crackling -- this is sweet!!!

Imagine, I really admire you and all the sellers who have to deal with all the Chinese holidays. I think everything in the whole country shuts down for weeks whenever they have one!

A long time ago, when they made the first passthroughs for 801 penstyles, I always used it on my laptop. It was just plain, with no inline battery. They were not very sturdy, but at least I wasn't constantly charging batteries. Then I got a Kensington Power Pack and when I plugged it into that, the hit was way too harsh and even if I liked it that way, it would probably have burnt the carto - so I went back to using the passthrough on the laptop.

Then I bought a regular USB wall plug to charge iPhones and it powered the lower voltage passthrough just fine.

When I found 808 cartos, and the passthroughs that went with them (5-volt), the iPod charger wouldn't work. So I found a 2000mA USB wall plug and it worked. The Kensington Power Pack powers a 5-volt passthrough perfectly too.

So IDK, I'm a bit skeptical. I also don't understand why 5-volt passthroughs and 3.7-volt(?) passthroughs (not sure what voltage the first ones were) work the same on a computer USB, but different on a 5-volt power device. Do USB ports on computers know that whatever they are powering needs more or less voltage?

Maybe the manufacturer of Volt cartos would be ahead of the game if they made higher resistance cartos for all the MOD people and 5-volt passthrough people who like high resistance cartos. Just sayin' - you know more about this stuff than I do. Also, it seems like I've read that most variable volt people like to set their MODs at around 4.2 volts (or somewhere thereabouts) and I think they use them with regular resistance and LR attys or cartos.

I also can't understand what the big deal is with all the high voltage hype. I like the regular Volt cartos and other LR cartos just fine powered with stock batteries for the taste, vapor, and TH. I use an eGo or Riva with a dual coil LR carto away from home and a high resistance 808 carto on a 5-volt passthrough at home. I can't tell much, if any, difference either way. I haven't had a chance to use the Volt cartos very much because I'm lazy and the eGo battery lasts longer.

When I do use the Volt cartos on the batteries that were made for them, I really do like them. I haven't used them long enough though to determine if they last longer than the dual coils, before they start losing performance.

I don't really care - I just want to use the Volt cartos with a passthrough that give the same results as the current ones with the little batteries, so I really really hope the 3.6 passthroughs you are getting are a big improvement over the first ones from a couple years ago.

I know you said you are getting 3.6 passthroughs that will be automatic, but I'm a little afraid of them. Recently, I had an automatic passthrough that decided to just stay on. Thank God it was in my lap and I realized it right away, but unfortunately it was on just long enough to fry it along with the brand new carto I had just put on the dang thing.

So, maybe down the road, you might consider carrying a manual passthrough that works well with the Volt cartos?

Are the current Volt batteries 3.6 volts? And if they're not, what are they?

I think I need one of those voltage meter reader thingys that are easy to use and idiot proof! :p Do you sell anything like that Imagine?

Hi Janet :)

Not sure where to begin :p

1) Our company is geared at taking away all this guess work and trial and error for the newbie, and provide them with a great e-cig experience they can enjoy out of the box, so they don't have to go down the rabbit hole of ohms, variable voltage, resistance etc. That being said a lot of people all ready have gone down that road and therefore have a lot of questions on these topics and what's compatible. Since our company is geared the way it is we don't want to throw a lot of variance and devices at the newbies. That being said I don't see us carrying multiple resistance cartos, we will just continue to sell cartos that work great on our batteries (or devices that have 3.6-4.5 volts).

2) Our VOLT batteries are regulated at 3.6-3.7 volts, as will be the new passthroughs.

3) We are going to put the 5v patthroughs on clearance and after they are gone we will no longer carry them.

4) higher voltage became popular because the technology was not there in the past to get the same amounts of warm vapor on lower voltages. Our VOLT cartos have fixed that issue, and we have found the way to eliminate the need for high voltages.

5) Regular wall adapters don't work because they do not output enough mA to get them to fire....that is why you have to use the adapter you have, but computer USB 2.0 ports do produce enough. That being said the adapter you have should be fine to fire the new passthru. I will double check with the factory tonight to confirm, and if you buy a new passthru and it for some reason does not fire on your 2000mA adapter I will pay for return shipping :).

6) A Manual passthru may become an option we carry but it would be a while because we already have an order in second to the one shipping... So maybe a couple months out.

7) lastly we don't see us carrying adapters and voltage meters etc... because again we are trying to be as easy as possible for new vapers and a lot of that just makes them feel like they have to have a science degree to vape happily...when with the new VOLT that is just not the case ;)...but as you know there are many vendors who do cater to that hobbyist and I can help point you in the right direction if you like :)
