I've been looking at this thread with a great deal of interest, mainly because I've been looking for a good KR808 for those times when I would like to vape a bit more inconspicuously, i.e. something with a bit more of an analog "look" to it. From what I can see thus far, the Volt seems that it will probably fit the bill...

What I'm wondering about is whether or not I'll be able to use any of my exisiting KR808D1 carto's with a Volt shorty battery? Same question with using my existing charger? In other words, are ~any~ 808 parts interchangeable with the Volt or are the carto's, chargers, etc that can be used with the Volt of a proprietary nature?

Thanks for any help!

Where I usually am
this week we will be adding 78mm manuals
and a whole bunch of colors to the 65mm and the 78mm....
total restock of all out of stock batts
and the 78mm PCC

3 weeks out:
30ml bottles of all our flavors in juice.
more colors in the 78mm auto/manuals

we have blank cartos on the site now :) (all cartos are discounted if bought in bulk)

and we have a few surprises I cannot discuss yet :)
Darn!!! I would have ordered a bunch of blanks cause I make my own juices:( I didn't see them. Ohh well.....guess I'll be making another order:) I'll be checking in soon.

wow, placed an order today and it shipped out today! thanks, imagine!

and I don't know if i should be glad or sad to have had my first deleted post today....all I did was suggest smokeless image to someone looking for good 555 and RY4. Other vendors had already been suggested in the thread, so I don't think it was because I mentioned a different vendor than the one who hosts the sub forum. But as soon as I mentioned smokeless image my post was deleted. Guess some SI competitors may be feeling a little threatened, hmmm?
I'm so proud of you! It thrills my bad-girl soul that you went and got in some trouble for the best vendor out there, way to take one for the team! I need to post something scandalous now and get deleted for some street cred!

Hi and welcome ccclady, glad you decided to join us

1) your cartos will work (although our batts are great the real beauty of the volt is the carto/batt combo....the only difference you are going to see from ours vs. a generic 808d1 batt...with generic cartos..... is a more steady consistency from charged to dead...and a little more MAH.)

2) your chargers should be able to charge our batts fine..however the light indications on the chargers may not function 100& properly...but our batteries let you know when they are charging ...the LED on the batt remains lit and when fully charged the LED on the batt goes out.

Things are interchangeable though :)

we weren't planning on it... and here was our reasoning...

* in the past manuals out performed autos on fast draw... this is no longer the case with the VOLT....the auto is almost instant....the only thing manuals are really needed for are dripping...and dripping is not really going to be needed on the 65mm because 1 carto fill will outlast the 65mm charge... hope that makes sense...

Most Vets are really resistant to autos ...because of past experience....but I promise our autos are a great surprise!! or your money back!! ;)

Any chance of getting a manual option on the 65mm batts?

4matic, i tried the desert joe as part of the sample pack. As you know taste is subjective, but I liked it as much or more than the Cowboy. I think desert joe would be good to have on hand for those times when you're really jonesin' for an analog...

And BTW, Imagine -- you might mention to your site merchandising people that they need to fix the spelling in the description of the smooth sampler pack...it's not "dessert joe", although I guess you could vape it for dessert

I'll agree with Imagine that the Volt battery can be used with most other 808 cartomizers, but not all. I've found one vendor's 808's that screw down completely onto the battery, shutting off the Volt battery's air holes. I've found other vendors whose cartomizers are too high of a resistance, 3.0 to 3.2ohms. These will work, but will produce a thin tasteless vapor, not a nice warm satisfying vapor. Those higher ohm cartomizers are generally used by folks liking to vape at higher voltages, 4.5 to 5V or higher.

Bottom line, the Volt batteries and cartomizers are a system that's already balanced for you, they work together great. Why mess with perfection? :)

totally right! when I think of generics I think of the old KR kind...some new generics may not work as Jan stated ...but we have a 30 day money back guarantee....so if you want to try em out and they don't work you can send em back :)

Ok, I bought some Volt batteries. Lost one my old kr808s (Doh!), so thought I'd upgrade to the hot, new, on-sale auto batts :) I've always enjoyed a kr808 for a change of pace, and your prices and reviews wore down my resistance.
So: YouTube - ‪Hello, I Must Be Going‬‏
I believe that with this purchase I will achieve a 1+ year stash. Can't wait to see what you guys have next year!

I'm new to this -- never smoked an e-cigarette. I'm seriously considering the Volt as my first one. But I want to try lots of flavors, and there's a huge variety on Vapor 4 Life. Do these prefilled cartomizers work well with the Volt?

Also, Imagine, why are the black batteries out of stock? I had really hoped for a black one rather than a white one, and I'm not sure I'd like pink. When will you be getting more black ones in the smaller size? I'm still trying to decide which to get, and I really like the Volt best so far, but I also really like Vapor 4 Life's huge selection of flavors.

welcome, sandysu! you're right, v4l is kind of famous for their variety of flavors! They've been in business longer than smokeless image --I use both v4l carto's, juice, and batteries along with SmokelessImage's cartos, juices, and batteries. And the v4l carto's will technically fit (threading-wise) on a volt battery.

But the Volt carto's are balanced/matched to the Volt battery as far as all the technical/electrical stuff goes -- so the same juice may taste different in a volt carto vs. a v4l carto even on the same battery.
That's why it's good that both smokelessimage and v4l sell blank carto's in addition to juice and batteries --- gives us all choices!

Since you're just starting out, my only recommendation is to stick with one or the other for a bit until you get the hang of this whole vaping thing. For quality products and customer service, you can't go wrong with either SmokelessImage or V4L. If I were just starting out, I'd probably start with smokelessimage simply because I know everything will work together well and they offer different shipping options --

And the fact that this post probably won't be deleted by Imagine shows that they understand there's a place for different companies and options for the customer -- as long as we all stay off the stinkies it's all good.

Vape on! :vapor:

Edit: and the black batteries are temporarily out of stock because they're that good, and we all cleaned their shelves out! i think imagine said the new shipment that would include black is due in 2-3 weeks.

Thanks for the explanation. I really wish things were more interchangeable w/o having to add my own juice. Just starting, I'm hoping to keep it simple, but since I have no idea what flavors will appeal to me, I wanted to try many different ones. But I've heard so many good things about the Volt that I've just about made up my mind to get that. If I get a Volt and try flavors from another company, what can I expect? Just not as tasty? Absolutely awful? And if I get a Volt starter kit, what's the best flavors to choose with it when you've never tried this before? I wanted to try something that would taste like a cigarette, but I also wanted to try some of the other flavors people seem to like, such as vanilla, coffee, fruit, etc.

Yes, I appreciate that my message wasn't deleted, even though I mentioned another company. It shows that this company is secure enough about their products that they don't mind the competition being mentioned. I like that.

If you get a starter kit from Smokeless Image, try both of their sampler packs of carto's. that way you can try the different tobacco's and also the "fun" flavors like grape and vanilla.
I smoked 2-3 packs of marlboro's a day for 40 years, and still really like tobacco flavors best. But some folks who are just starting to vape hate the tobacco flavors and vape grape all day LOL -- you'll end up trying a lot of different flavors to find something you really like.....
And even if you don't like something at first, just put it away for awhile -- don't toss it. Your tastebuds will change a lot once you're off cigarettes, and something that tastes vile right now may be wonderful to you in a few weeks.

edit: and carto's from other companies won't taste "absolutely awful" on your volt battery -- they may just be a little different....you'll be fine!

Welcome SandySu and big congrats that you're going to give vaping a try and leave cigarettes in the dirt, where they belong. :)

You sound so much like me when I first wanted to try an e-cig. I read ecf and watched youtube reviews til my eyeballs nearly fell out. And then when I went shopping, it was like when I stop at the store for milk & bread and come out with everything from asian pears to the newest flavor of Cheerios, only to realize when I get home that I forgot the milk. :)

First things first, get a good e-cig in one complete system and see if it works out for you. You won't go wrong buying a Volt. And like jbmcdan said, the starter packs of both the tobacco sampler and sweet sampler is going to give you a taste of everything. Please yes, start there.

After that, you may choose just to stick with all Volt stuff, because everything Volt works with everything else Volt. Very good price + shipping, excellent customer service, and a good solid vaping experience.

And when you want to try out different hardware and e-liquids, no matter what e-cig you start with, it will be about how much you want to go down the rabbit hole of mix & match, wasted time & money, triumphs and trials. There didn't used to be one great e-cig, so many of us had to start vaping going down that rabbit hole, it was frustrating. I'm so glad that the Volt came along so beginning vapers don't have to struggle, and us old-timer vapers can finally clean up our clutter & mess, lol.

Best wishes on your new journey. Get ready to ditch those analogs! Yee-hawwww!!!

I agree with everything jb said.
The biggest difference between other cartos and these is the design. V4L's are vertical and these are horizontal. To me, they taste just fine but don't vape as well -- feels airy or something. Those also have a better chance of burning because of the design, where these don't.
However, if there's a flavor you like there that isn't offered here you might try getting the juice instead and putting that into the Volt blank or used up prefilled carto.

I've tried lots of flavors and always come back to the tobacco ones. I like to eat a mango, I don't want to smoke one. :)

Hey jb, I might be joining you soon in the PDFC club (Post Deleted for Fear of the Competition). It just irks me to no end to watch innocent people being jerked around. I didn't mention Volt because that would get me deleted immediately, but I did say I went elsewhere. That usually triggers a PM where I can give directions :)

Hi guys :)

Thanks Jan! glad to hear you are enjoying your new toys!!

JBM - try not to take it personally... I don't mind when people mention other vendors in this thread...simply because I would rather posting in our thread then somewhere else....I like that our thread is active and open to express ideas and concerns. I am not a fan of censorship :), but other vendors do have the prerogative (hmm just spelled check that...never thought it would be spelled that way lol) to do what they feel is best for them and their "image" :p does seem a bit unfair that you were the only one deleted, but oh well... right? ;)

I was saving this till we were restocked, but it was shared earlier (and the spelling was not 100% correct)...and a few of you have used/tried to use it.... so I figured I would post this here...it is active but will not be advertised on the forum until we are fully stocked :)

Thanks SI :thumb: great sale on already great prices
