we would LOVE a subforum!! :) we were put on the waiting list a few months ago...told it can take up to a year and a half....they only allow 80 at a time...and someone has to resign or get booted before they let new ones on. That being said there are things that help you move up the list, by being active in the forums...and advertising with them...we are doing both so hopefully we won't have to wait too long.
Imagine, how long before you're able to get your own subforum here?

Bring on the sub-forum baby!!! I say we just bump this thread till ECF grants one *smiles wickedly*! How about a catchy little jingle to bump? Something like...*ahem* "Vote, Vote - Vote for the Volt!" or "Before you bolt to grab a smoke, don't be a dolt and reach for the Volt!". Eh? Grab some pompoms everyone! ;)

OK I received my Volt kit this evening. As soon as I have ample time to try it I will come back with my feedback as Imagine requested. So for now I just have a couple questions as I get started.

I opened the package and wanted to get a battery charged right away. I plugged in the AC adaptor and usb and screwed on the battery. The LED on the battery does not light up. Just the red light on the ac adaptor. I plugged in the other battery and the LED does not light on that one either. Is that normal?

I went ahead and put a carto on a battery and it seems to be charged and working so I am using it now and seems to be working fine. I'll try to run the battery down and then put it back on charge to see if the LED lights while it's charging.

I also noticed that when I screw the battery into the power socket it only turns in about one turn. Is that normal?

Thanks everyone.

I've thought all along we needed a subforum; I subscribed to this thread when it was first up so I wouldn't have to go hunting all over for it, but I never had trouble finding it because it's always on page one!

your batteries were shipped to you fully charged, they only light while charging and go out when done, yay!

yes, they are pretty shallow threads, resist the urge to overtighten, it can mash your connections I believe

have fun, welcome to planet volt, voltian!

Re: the battery not lighting up. Yes, that's normal if they are charged, and mine were when they arrived. Not sure about the just one turn being normal. I have an 808 charger from another supplier, and my batteries screw in a little more than one turn.

Thanks Sallie. That makes me feel a little better. You are probably right that both my batts were already charged. I will find out for sure once this first battery runs down.
