If these things would die I'll do just that. Thank goodness Volt batts don't have the cheap paint job that the 510's have. Has anyone noticed any wear at all on the rubberized Volt finish? Mine are still fairly new, and it's too early to tell.

I found a really easy way to help this along, it turns out that batteries really don't like the washing machine  It does however get them nice and clean

Cartomizerfillinator ....This is by far the best way to clean cartos. I began cleaning cartos this way about 6 months ago.
Then I had seen Vapians vid on filling cartos and thought dahhhh:facepalm:,...I can fill them up with that method too:laugh:
When I get about 20 cartos ready for cleaning, I grab 2 16oz glasses and fill them up with distilled water and put them in the microwave for 3.5 minutes....nice and hot but not hot enough to burn your hands. I pop the carto on my 10mil syringe with the battery connection facing out and pull in the hot distilled water and squirt the nastyness into the sink. "I do this three times per carto". Now I have clean cartos that need to be dried.. You can use the syringe for this as well. with the carto still attached to the syringe, pull and push on the plunger about 10 times to get out all the water you can.
I only do this a couple of times and then I blow out the water with my mouth from the side of the carto you vape on.....not the threaded end.....blow that out a couple of times and set them on a paper towell with the battery connection down for 24 hours.. WALA! clean cartos:).

I have tried other methods like......putting them in a pot and boil for ten minutes or so...
jewelry cleaners you name it.

If you have not tried the Fillonater / Cleanonater method out...Please do for the sake of the cartomizer :p

Thanks! I copied your instructions out into a word processing program, and when it comes time to clean my cartos, I will do it this way. I think with the kit I ordered I should have all the equipment I need. Cleaning the cartos is the first step in the process, right? Would I have to clean them if I were to refill them with the same flavor they had before? Is it better to start fresh, even if the flavor is the same?

ok I have been off my grape and vaping the menthol burst all day...although I am still not great at describing a flavor here I go:

I could vape it all day with no issue...(I was a menthol smoker) but grape is my all day usual vape.

it is a definite menthol flavor ...not a mint flavor...not a tobacco flavor
great throat hit
not sweet...more refreshing...

definitely get a BURST of menthol in every hit ... my new second favorite though...as it was not overwhelming

hope that helps some decide...

Thank you so much for sacrificing a day of grape to let us know what the flavor's like. But I still want to know what the difference in the 2 menthols are. When you feel experimental again, could you compare them and let us know? Or anyone else?

That looks like Vapian's (sorry if I get this wrong) Cartomizerfillimizer (- the fancy handles) I ordered my luer lock syringe today to make one for cleaning cartomizers:)

I thought it seemed like the same system. I ordered it because it's nice to have all the equipment I need when I decide to undertake this new adventure. Then I'll watch Vapian's video again to be sure I remember how to do it.

And thank you, Vapian, for making that video so newbies like me can figure it all out.

Tried cleaning with Cleanonater and works great but MUCH to slow when I have a bunch of carts to clean. I use 50% Vodka
(100 proof) and 50% water in my 42,000 cycle Bogue Ultrasonic.

For small batches I use a small glass dish for the vodka/water mix and carts, sit glass inside cleaner and fill cleaner as normal.

Mine has a 3 min. timer and I usually run it through 3 or so times until cart filler is white. Rinse with running hot water. Wrap rubber band around carts, paper towel around bundle, put in a sock, and do the Taryn spin.

Don't take long to dry and then ready for the Vapian Filler!!

Why do some people use vodka? I think Vapian's system will work well for me if I don't have a lot I want to do at once, and don't want to buy more equipment if I can keep it simple.

I totally agree, and I'm glad I'm not the only one who is a little irked at one of our own being ripped! Seems really funny to me, the video posted not very long ago, and all of a sudden...
"Just because you can do a thing, does not mean you should necessarily do a thing." Mr. spock

I wonder if Vapian's mad about it or if he doesn't care. He wasn't selling anything that this company is now competing with him, right? If someone copies you, that's a form of flattery.

Just 2 more days (Thursday) 'til I get my Volt!! To help with the waitin' on the mailman blues I went shopping for some goodies to go with my new batt. I use eyeglass savers to hang batt around my neck (the little rubber ends hold the batt like it was made for that). Since batt is red I got a jet bead one and a gold one with red beads. I ordered the multicolored caps too.

Now ain't I gonna look good strollin' into bingo! LOL

"The waitin' on the mailman blues" -- I love it! Someone needs to make this into a song and put it on YouTube. Any blues musicians out there?

Hey....howz bout a fun song:laugh:

hehe...figure it's stuck in my head, why not share:p

Wow! Thanks. I never really listened to that song, but I love it. I had to laugh at the guy's predicament.

BTW, being the compulsive proofreader that I am, I was initially distracted by typos: paradice? Barley 17? Barley dressed? Well, at least they knew to use it's, not its. Most of the world doesn't know which is which.

<raises hand> I know why!

That link was created by someone who had watched the video up to a certain point before creating the link... so, there's a code embedded in the link so that it always jumps to the video at that same point (if you're really interested, the code is "#at=1092").

Just delete that bit from the end of the URL, and the video started at the beginning like one would expect.

Here's a "corrected" link that'll fix that for ya. :)

Using ISP alcohol can be dangerous to your health when used on carts. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...isopropyl-alcohol-clean-their-tank-attys.html Alcohol in vodka helps clean the gunk out of carts and evaporates helping to dry carts.

Can understand not wanting to buy more equipment!! I use my Ultrasonic to clean much more than my carts. Eyeglasses, dentures, DVDs etc. Best 24.95 I have spent for this purpose. Very simple to use too.

Heard this song this morning, kinda got stuck all day. The video is funny, about a 1/4 way in the little doggies...

That was a great remedy for "Lime/Coconut" - Thanks!

The doggies were adorable, and the sisters in the surf; but the armed nuns? WTH?

That sounds nice. So many beautiful colors to choose from, I want to get more, but I really don't need more. I have to exercise self-control and not go crazy getting everything I see.
That sounds great to me in theory, but I never did like exercise - lol!

Sorry Sandy for quoting yours, but it was the last one I saw regarding this matter. Many of you are getting way bent outta shape on this whole thing. If you read the thread, Vapian in no way feels that his idea was stolen, and several people state that they have been doing the same type thing for months.....and even in Vapian's post here he stated that people have been using this type method for months to clean the cartos, just no one mentioned filling them till Vapian (tech savvy mind that he has;)) thought to use the method to fill as well....
What's interesting is that some folks have been cleaning them in a similar fashion for a while but didn't think to fill that way... and I never thought to clean that way until someone pointed out the obvious. Interesting, how the mind works. :)

Anyway, it just saddened me a bit to see so much negativity towards an ecig vendor over this (IMO) little thing. Vapian put his version out there for anyone to make and I sure hope he entered that idea into that contest for the blind and IMHO...if he didn't win, well then they really are ignorant jerks:p

Sorry for the interruption...back to your regularly scheduled program:laugh:

you could use em ..but they might not taste so great :( our passthrough is regulated to 3.6 volts....that is the optimal voltage for our cartos.

I just learned that Volt cartos can't be used in batts over 3.8 volts. Is this true? Does this mean I can't use my 5 volt passthrough? :( PLEASE say it ain't so!!!

They have a tendency to burn the juice on higher voltage batts...especially at 5 volts. I do have some success at around 4.2-4.3, but it is juice dependent, some juice burns while other juice is just fine.

Dang! Just ordered (1 more day!) and just can't afford another batt right now. :( Wish that was mentioned on the site. Would have ordered the passthrough instead. *sigh*

Well nobody is perfect. Hee hee.
