I'm still reading everyones advice. Think I will throw in 1 - 6mg pack of cartomizers and 1 more 12mg so that way they have more range. Good idea guys. I myself started with 12mg and was fine, tried a sample that I had ordered from VR of 20mg and found it came in handy for when I'm jonesen. But most of the time 12 or 18 is good for me. I was a 2 pk day marlb light. They smoke stronger cigs so was thinking stronger nic for them. But agreed. Give them 4 levels. Thanks everyone.

you're right a variety is the best way to go, my mom smokes mitsy ultra lite 120's and shes using 24mg..unless you're using vomitvapor, there isn't a taste difference IMO some people are sensitive to the nic..myself i've vaped myself silly and still had no problems.

I guess 6mg is better than nothing, too bad the 12mg isn't available right now in the Smooth Sampler - is that what you were going to get?

Thanks Cindycated, DM and ls1chris for your advice.

I am going tomorrow to buy an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner. I have read some positive reviews about them not only for cleaning carts but also for eGo-T attys. I have a few eGo-T's that I am hoping a can revive.

LOVE my US cleaner. I posted earlier the best way to use one for carts.

I think every smoker got something different from tobacco cigs...some smoked a lot just to smoke..and some smoked a lot for the nic ....if they were just smoking more for the action...lower nics make sense :p just my nickle
Interesting... I was a very heavy smoker (3PAD) and never needed to use above 12mg.

Your nickel explains a lot though Imagine....never really thought of it that way as to why everyone's vaping nic levels vary so greatly. Keen eye there:laugh:

Look on Craigslist, Ops. I just picked one up today for $15! (Conair, 42000 cycles, used once, 5-setting timer, ...)

Curious. How long does your batt last when you vape just it? Shortys? Regular? I am always switching between batts using different flavor carts.

Tried just using Volt shorty and it lasts me a little over 2 hours every time. I am trying to check if it is fully charging. Dang consistent that's for sure! I know it will be different because everyone vapes differently. I about chain vape on mine.

And yes I am going to order the Volt USB charger! LOL

Hello again,

Not sure if I'm posting this in the right forum, it's regarding the volt though so here it goes.

How do you guys feel you would have reacted if you received a VOLT starter kit in the mail unexpected from your Mom or another family member while you were still a smoker, not wanting to quit and had never vaped? Would a stop sign have gone up and you refuse to try it? Would you have tried it and if so do you think it would have hooked you if it wasn't your idea? I think if any E-cig style PV has any chance of positive results it's the VOLT !

Heres why I ask. My Mom is so pleased with my success with the VOLT (6 weeks analog free) that she is buying my brother and his wife starter kits today and having them shipped to their home. They don't know it yet. My brother and his wife have smoked 38 years. He smokes Marlb Reds and she smokes menthol (I think). This past week my brothers wife had some health issues and was in hospital. Her smoking habit is a factor with the health issues and so the doctors are all over it like flies on S***. My brother mentioned to my mom that the smoking was going to have to be addressed when she came home from hospital and that he would probably have to cut down or quit as well to help her out. Mom said he sounded bummed about it. This is touchy because my bro who I love dearly and have always looked up to also has the type of personality that it has to be his idea. My Mom thought timing is crucial and strike while the pan is hot, his wife has had a scare and after all he did actually breath the words he may have to quit as well. Also, although we live 2000 miles apart he is aware of my success but not aware of the VOLT brand. Our fear is that without us knowing he may actually go out and buy a crappy e-cig, try it, hate it and never try one again. Hoping with 2 people trying the volt odds are higher that vaping the volt will be a success in this case.

Any thoughts negative or positive I'd like to hear. She has not ordered yet as we are waiting for the 24 and 18mg cartomizers to stock.

Also, like the post below I am looking for a good coupon code as well for my Mom to use. If anyone knows of one can you please PM me with it? Thank you

I think if it were me, I'd want you and your mom to talk to me about e-cigs and offer to get me the Volt. Say that it's much better than the kind he might go out and buy, and shipping is really fast. I'd be curious to try it, especially if someone else was going to pay for it. If I had to spend big bucks myself, I might be more hesitant to try it. He may have some questions about how much it'll satisfy compared to analogs. I think you should be honest and say it's not the same, but many people have found it helpful in quitting.

In other words, make the offer to buy him the Volt and tell him why you want to (because it's better and he'd be more satisfied). Then let him choose. If he says yes, then he'll know it's coming and won't go out and buy some from the mall, or if he does, and doesn't like that e-cig, he'll have learned that the Volt may be a different story.

I think that's really sweet of your mom. Maybe (if like you said) it was approached as being an item that could help in cutting down instead of quitting then he would be more open to it. "Quitting" always made me feel like it was being forced on me, even when it was MY idea! Crazy

Exactly! And that's how Im viewing them. I still smoke analogs most of the time, but I like e-cigs. They are very different, a new adventure. And I do find that I'm smoking less because of them. I don't want to force myself to quit analogs. If it happens, it does. If it doesn't, e-cigs are a cool new toy. If I smoke a little less and vape a little more, that's a plus.

That may be an unpopular view here, but it's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Wow, good point.
But that nic one's awfully hard to keep happy (worse than h....., so they say) - there may be more success if those needs were being met and the same amount of nic was being supplied, at least initially. Here's a chart of nic levels for analogs, in case anybody's curious:
Erowid Tobacco Vault : Info on Nicotine Content of Cigarette Brands

...but yeah, I guess I'm more into the action now, 'cause I'm down to 6mg (from 12mg) and perfectly happy...can probably go even lower now, since I've gotten hooked more on the flavor.

You have your own way to vape...smoking less is better then smoking what your were. Have fun with it...and if it progesses into you quitting,,,that would be great. Your vaping is YOUR vaping :) Enjoy the experience and have fun with it :vapor:

Loophole is the perfect term for my Mom to use. Perfect !

If it ends up a go (and I know it will) then will be ordering them the following:

2 pro starter kits with the sliders and 65mm bats=2 white bats, 1 pink bat and 1 drk green bat if it's in.
3-Smooth samplers in 24mg, 18mg and 12mg
1-Sweet sampler in 24mg
1-Menthol Burst in 18mg
1-Ice menthol in 24mg
1-New grape in 18mg
2-USB wall adapters
2-USB battery chargers

The two white bats I will struggle with when placing order as that is now my least favorite color (I have 10 bats both sizes). But think they will want white bats 65mm for that first puff. I know I did. After using the pink one it was no longer important to me but it sure was important that it be white on that very first puff. Have read where other people felt the same so goin with it.

You know your family and their preferences better than I do, but I didn't want the e-cig to look like an analog. I figured if I got one that looked different, it'd be easier to use it in No Smoking places. Besides, I liked the idea of the light being so different from a burning cigarette, so I got a blue tip.

This evening I may have made my first convert. I do catering part time, and there's a guy there who I think is the only other smoker. We were outside during one long gig, taking a cigarette break. Then at another catering gig, someone complained about the smell of my car and suggested e-cigs, and that's how I got involved in all this. But anyway, my fellow smoker and I exited the building together this evening after the shift was over, and the first thing I wanted to do was light up an analog, and he did, too. Then I told him I was trying e-cigs, and he was curious. I happened to have my Volt PCC with 2 batts and a 555 carto on one of them. I showed him how the PCC worked and how the carto came off the batt, etc. Then I took a puff, and when it lit up blue, he said, "Wow!" Then he took a puff. He seemed impressed, and I told him to look up SI and Volts on the Internet, so maybe he will.
