I've been DIY'ing for years mostly because so many of the nicquids that I tried tasted too weak for me. It's a LOT of fun - but you'll find that you end up being a flavoring junkie instead of an eliquid junkie. I have an entire kitchen cabinet devoted to my DIY flavorings and supplies. Then Smokeless Image comes along and blows my home-brewed grape out of the water! Then - they get me addicted to their RY4 and Watermelon. No fair ...

Here's a good place to start. It's the eliquid recipe calculator and storage program that I use. Downloadable from Post #1.
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/46912-downloadable-e-juice-recipe-software-app.html

Thanks! I downloaded the program. Have absolutely no idea what to do with it yet. lol

I wanted to try the Sweet Sampler, but it's out of stock. It has the New Grape (I think) and watermelon. It might be a good idea to just go ahead and order a pkg. each of both grapes and one of watermelon to check them out. If I don't like them I can always rinse the juice out.

Hey there – Kelly (aka: Cosmic Energy). . .

So nice that you're still here and you’ve joined in with even just a little “Fluff” . . .

Uncle,...it's alllllllll for you!!

...Also, if you want even more info about filling and cleaning SI “cartos” for maximum use and even better results, if I may suggest – check out our own “Vapians” CartomizerFillinator / Cartomizercleaninator V2 (here is the link to his thread http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...0782-cartomizerfillinator-21.html#post4022364 ) – he worked very hard to create this method and refine the equipment - that also happens to work for me too...

That looks like something I could use. Question: At the end of a Cartomizercleaninator cleaning process, do the cartos still have to be air dried overnight before refilling them? I saw a video on the Nicapure site that claimed they don't need further drying other than just blasting them out with syringe blasts of air.

Also, they were using purified or distilled water........what's up with that? How is that kind of water beneficial?

Wouldn't rubbing alcohol work as good,...or even better than water?

. . So as for “Led Zeppelin” (You’re how old ? ? ? ?)

Being born in 1970, I just passed 41 this year, so I was still just a pup and too young to know them in their heyday. I discovered them later when I was...I think......about 10ish.

And BTW, an FYI: It must have been the times and culture induced – “Cosmic Energy” – that you are exuding though-out the Universe (Think: Yoga) and You becoming part of the special bond that has been created here :). . . Think “Star Wars” . . . “Join the “Fluff” – Luke . . .View attachment 53925

Uhhh.......OK........but my "Cosmic Energy" comes from the 1976 Led Zeppelin concert movie "The Song Remains the Same". It's from Robert Plant's backstage musing right before one of my all-time-favs begins...."Since I've Been Loving You".

After many late night viewings, all toked up on herbal medicine when I was in my mid-teens,...it really grew on me.

Cheers....and toke 'em if ya got 'em.............PV's that is!
OMG, I think I just joined the dark side of the Fluff.

Just popping in to say "Hi!" to everyone! This has got to be the friendliest, most congenial place on the entire Internet - all of you are positive, up-beat, and just down right likable!

Uncle, I also enjoy "fluff" ... must be a Florida Guy thing - I sure took advantage of the 21% off sale - just ordered a few more of those magical cartomizers ... although it is easy to remove the soft rubber caps, I really enjoy the drip end caps -

PS: in an earlier post I incorrectly credited a "Michael" with excellent chat assistance on SI's website ... that commendation should have been for the delightful Michaela

First and most important, Hello and View attachment 54019 to the SI Thread . . . Glad to know your here . . .

YEP - IMO . . . Everything you said about the people here in the SI thread is correct :) . . . Without-a-doubt SI is not only a very informative thread :pop:. . . AND although once in a "blue moon" it may not seem so :grr: (especially since the Internet cannot really let you see someones face and/or hear the actual intention or tenor of the writer and their words - that's why the "emoticons" are so important at times ;-)) . . . "SI" IS one of the friendliest Threads around ECF and everyone (YES - EVERYONE) is very helpful and quite supportive of each other NO MATTER WHAT . . .

Just like any other "Family" ! ! ! :D Or large Group of "Friends" - WE do Stick Together ! ! ! And - Nobody better get Nasty with anyone else here :glare: - We got each others back too ! ! ! :thumb:

Matter of fact, sometime we even play View attachment 54020 or View attachment 54021 and better yet we can even have a View attachment 54022 every so often :D So jump on in, anytime You want ! ! ! ;) :toast:

AND - Thank YOU :), it is nice to hear you like "FLUFF" too . . . However, I wouldn't limit it to being just a "Florida Guy" thing ;) . . . Especially if you knew any of the Women & Men I know - "Fluff" is just a normal and expected thing in their lives - "Fluff" abounds all around them . . . And then we have our own "Lax" (who is from Montana) :rickroll:and "DM" (who is from California - and I'm sure you know all about those Californians :p and their style of "Fluff" ;) - I know his wife must like it or else he still would probably be single :lol::lol:. . . BTW, "DM" makes some really great Battery/Carto Wraps ;-)

Now - Hopefully, you got some of those wonderful little color caps for your cartos too :thumb:- Talk about "Fluff" for your "Volt" collection ! ! ! If you didn't, given the wonderful SI customer service  and Your new "Connection" w/ Michaela  - I'm pretty sure she will add them to your order if you call before it is sent out . . . Just a thought and my :2c:. . .

And, again welcome aboard - can't wait to see what "Fluff" :D YOU can come up with to show us all Your Special Florida Guy Style of "Fluff" . . . View attachment 54024

Is anyone else hearing voices?

There's someone giving a vocal ecig lesson and I don't know how to turn her off....... Help???

Okay.....I had two windows open and when I shut one the voices stopped. Strange...

Last time I heard voices they took me to the hospital for evaluation.

Hey - Just MY Personal & Professional Opinion  - Hearing voices is not really that "Strange" at all . . . AND - You really shouldn't worry about hearing voices, it happens all the time to a lot of people . . .:)

The only time you have to start to worry View attachment 54032 and start looking for the Men with the white jacket - is when your hearing Your Own Voice :sneaky: having an argument  with Yourself ;) and You're Losing the fight ! ! ! ! 8-o Then there might be some :danger: and I would really be concerned :D enough to suggest to you to stay View attachment 54031 . . .

My voices from the '70s (too much led) had stopped for years......now I just hear squealing tires and loud booms  wish they'd let me have this many drugs back in the 70's....oh wait, maybe they did....what were we talking about again?

Thanks Uncle : ) My world is a unique place : ) The quote is not mine, it was posted in my amputee support group. The unknown must have fallen off when I was trying to get the quote to fit.

why does this thread have so much fun when I'm stuck at work on Friday nights? Save some fluff and voices chat for me later, guys! Happy Friday!

edit: What?? You guys got the Led out while I was busy?? Have the anthology, once quit a job on the spot to follow Robert Plant and his entourage around town for an afternoon = psycho megafan.

also I am in the sweet spot with vapes I like, and it feels sooo good. Love vaping my nummies instead of stuffing my face like I did every other time I tried to quit smoking! I just stocked up on a few flavors I really love so I could take a break from ordering for a while, I think my neighbors think I'm up to something!

And I might be ;)

Speaking of Kashmir, .......that's one of my all-time-favs too..........plus I was thinking earlier....that would make a good name for an exotic, spicy tobacco blend.

Agree on both points - Kashmir was one of the first songs I put on my iPhone/iTunes, along with Since I Been Lovin You. That would be an awesome name for a flavor (although since I hate Turkish blends I wouldn't be buying it)

"Spent my days with a woman unkind,........smoked up my Volt and drank..............all my wine"

You should enter that on the contest thread :)

Good news - the v4l charger is working today :) The Bloog USB is still DOA. And since it is the exact same thing as the Volt/SI USB it can't be due to mixing/matching batteries & chargers. I use(d) it at home constantly, so I think it just finally gave up the ghost. I'll just get another from SI as soon as the Mint is in stock for ordering too.

I did it with the green-LED dongle, no problem. It also worked on the new blue-LED ones with the Volt logo, but acted a little weird when it was fully charged (batt LED kept blinking). I don't think I'll be doing that again...but yeah, there's definitely something different about these newfangled batts and how they handle power.

I think the only bad thing that can happen to the Volt battery with these other dongles is that they probably won't charge all the way. I think I read somewhere that eventually the unused part of the battery liquefies and hardens into a plate, and you're permanently stuck with that shorter charge time. Plus, who wants to wait 6+ hours?

Hey Kelly - Absolutely dry them for at least a couple of days. I prop mine up in a sunny windowsill. tilted so that evaporation can occur at both ends. If there is moisture left in the carto, your nicquid will taste like a damp old sock. (Don't ask me how I know this) Distilled or purified water is to keep from getting impurities in your carto. I don't go that far. Tap water seems good enough for me. These ARE disposable, after all.

Now - rubbing alcohol is a very, very bad idea unless you rinse with water thoroughly afterward. Check out this fairly short thread:

First, I must say that I follow the directions given by "Vapian" View attachment 54054(almost exclusively), especially since he was the original creator and developer of this piece of equipment . . . More importantly, he went out of his way and was kind enough to send me one of his "V2" sets :) to try just before I went away last week . . . And have only done this 2 x's so far with about 20 of the cartos I have . . . So based on my experience so far this is what information I can give you about what I have done . . .

And to answer your questions . . . Well, I do blast the cartos out with "Air" :thumb: after cleaning . . . AND then leave them at least overnight to dry further to make sure they are "dry" enough to be filled all the way . . . More importantly, from my understanding, to make sure they do not have any liquid in them to dilute any "Nicjuice" . . .

thecosmicenergy said:

From what I have seen on in the "How to" Videos and read on the threads . . . It is a personal choice to use what ever you prefer . . . Water from the tap, purified, or distilled as long as it is "warm" . . .

Not Boiling HOT  (BAD - VERY BAD for Volt carto as far as I know) . . .

AND - Personally, from what I have learned here and in a couple of other threads, to clean the cartos I have . . . I use very warm tap water for the first couple of flushes (for light "Nicjuices" and for darker/thicker "Nicjuices" if I remember correctly, someone suggested a little dish detergent like "Dawn") - then once I see no more "color" and after Flushing the carto with air to remove as much moisture as possible - I do one final flush with a little "Vodka" and then let them dry overnight . . . :) (I knew the "Vodka" I no longer drink would finally be good for something ;) useful)

However, it is my understanding (and someone else can jump in here to let you now more) as for using "rubbing alcohol" this might leave a very BAD taste and you would have to flush the cartos again (which is why I would never use it) - BUT "Vodka" or "Pure-grain Alcohol" might work better and take less time for the cartos to dry . . . Well at least it did for me - so far . . .

I will also be using this equipment to fill my cartos this weekend . . . :D

OKAY - "HERBAL MEDICINE" - I believe YOU ;)
I even had some "Herbal Medicine" ;) back then too

AND YES ! ! ! It is a great film, that if I remember correctly was recorded during their "Madison Square Garden" performances - I think in the early 70's and the "song" is another "Fav" . . . BTW, that one is also from their Album "Houses of the Holy" that I mentioned . . . I guess that is also where you saw what all that "Herbal Medicine" could do to helped you enjoy all those "fantasy sequences" too . . .;)

I was going to give the same link about the rubbing alcohol! :p Great minds think alike. That thread has got some good info on cleaning cartos safely. I DO use 100 proof vodka though. Will dissolve about anything.

Now on the drying I use the Taryn Spin on wet cleaned cartos. Don't have to let them dry so long but usually do dry overnight.

I get in a hurry I put them in a bowl and hit them with a blow dryer until they get pretty warm, about 3 min. Maybe do that 2 or 3 times. I can fill them in about 2 hours that way. :vapor: Check for dampness with a toothpick ran down the inside of the carto close to the wall. That's my :2c: :p

Oh by the way, if you get a slight odor of the old flavor from the cleaned carto it doesn't affect the new flavor you put in it. :)

Nothing at all to worry about Uncle. Everything's fine since they gave me my meds. No voices, none at all...... just this strange haunting melody...... and someone playing a guitar......

Not really worried - especially since I have many conversations with myself all the time . . . ;)
I just hate when I lose the "fight" . . . View attachment 54056

And as for - the "Meds" - Always great to have "Meds" View attachment 54057 . . . especially when they are the right ones . . .

Just make sure that - that "Melody" and "Guitar" are always in TUNE - so you can dance all night long . . .View attachment 54062
