Wanted to let everyone know what I thought of the vanilla now that I have tried it today. Maybe it is just me, but for some reason it seemed a little strong in taste and throat hit, it does not taste bad or anything, to me it didn't taste necessarily like vanilla, more like a underlying hint of vanilla, which it itself was kind of nice to be honest, but for some reason the overall effect was a bit too strong for me. I am new to vaping and am by no means an expert but of the flavors I have tried so far, to me, vanilla is the strongest.

I really wish I would have done some more research before jumping into a V2 kit last week. I plan on returning it and getting a Volt kit for me and my mother within the next week, but it would have been really cool to have been able to have gotten that summerend deal last week if I was a tad-bit more informed. :p Better late than never I guess haha.. Definitely interested in any current or upcoming coupon codes.

Well, it finally happened: you know how I like to poke used, dying cartos with a pin to get them to work again? Well last night, I poked a little too hard, and POOF, out pops the coil on a couple of them! Oops! Oh well. Time to experiment.

Whoa, charcoal briquettes! I thought they were burnt, but I think they're just encrusted with almost two months worth of crud. Yeah, I could just throw them out after that long, but figured it would be nice to find a cleaning method that's actually effective in general, if I'm gonna continue to clean them at all.

So, since this blackened coil is what really needs to get clean (the batting is easy and won't necessarily bring a carto back to good working condition), I tried soaking it in:
  • Vodka for 4 hours: No effect. Still hard as a rock. This is what I've been using. Obviously, it ain't working!
  • Rubbing alcohol for 4 hours: Same thing.
  • Dawn and hot water for 2 hours: wow, the fiber thing that the wire is wrapped around completely cleared up at the ends, but it's still black and hardened where the wire is wrapped around it (bb got a little smaller though). Maybe soak a little longer. But it would be such a pain to rinse soap out of a carto, what with all that batting and all! Hmmm...
  • Sprayed one with Easy Off: crud's completely gone, but yeah, like I'm really gonna clean my cartos with Easy Off! Too young to die.
  • Soaking in a denture cleanser tab now (thanks, Rave). One hour so far, and no effect (still hard and crusty). We'll just let that sit overnight and see how it goes, cuz I had high hopes for this one...(works great on my french press though)
  • E-liquid that I didn't like...they put PG in soap, right? Must not be not one of the active ingredients, cuz it ain't doing a damn thing! ...yet. We'll let that sit next to the denture tabs.

So what I'm thinking is to approach it like I'm trying to clean a baking pan with really nasty burnt/hardened/baked-on sugar, cuz that's pretty much what it is, right? And it's not like you can get in there and scrub it off, so it would have to get clean by soaking. So the trick now would be to find the right solvent that won't kill me...hmmm.....hydrogen peroxide? vinegar?

Hey, what's going on here?
I'm enjoying a brand new Classic Grape carto on my manual battery, and all of the sudden the switch starts getting flaky! Like you press it and sometimes it doesn't go on. No sizzle, no LED, nothing! Tried another carto on the battery - whew, it's fine. Is this normal/bad? What else should I try?

EDIT: Never mind...it's OK now. Probably an air bubble in there or something.

I had to laugh at the Easy Off  Somewhere I read about using vinegar & baking soda. Cleaned the carto pretty good, but I don't know about baked on crud. It was kinda fun too, like a science project. Put a little baking soda in mouth side first, then add the vinegar and quickly cover with your thumb - it foams up right away and by covering the one end it forces it to stay inside bubbling and pushes out the battery end.

Sounds like fun! Kinda like the volcano science project, right? I'll try that too. So is there a fish and chips vape to go with that vinegar?

LOL, it wouldn't surprise me at all if there was. After rinsing there was no sign of the vinegar. It really was a nice way to clean out lingering old juice so I could use these for new juice sampling. But I never tried it on a poor performing carto to see if it cleaned the coils or not. Surely someone has tho.

So it didn't Taste bad after the vinegar baking soda? Makes sense that it would work
