However, I don't typically vape a cartomizer dry and toss it. I vape it until it tastes like it could use a little more eliquid and then I take it off the battery and top it off, oh, about 10 drops down into the side of the filler, turning the cartomizer while I'm doing it. You can see that video on the SI website under their eliquid category. Doing it this way, a cartomizer lasts me 3 days to a week before it would need cleaning, which would make it last longer, but by then I feel I've gotten my money's worth and toss it nowadays.

How do you know when a carto needs topping off?

I looked at that site, and they only come in white. I've seen lots of neat colors, even patterns, like they were marbelized, but not where to get them, only pictures members posted. I think it'd be neat to color-coordinate the drip tip with the battery -- or a contrasting color that went well with it.

goodprophets - that's where I get my swirly colored drip tips. Fit the Volt cartos perfectly.

It's when I get a little thinner vaping experience, not as much vapor, not as much flavor. My experience is if I continue vaping past that, I'll get an increasingly toasty taste from the heating coil starting to fry from lack of eliquid. If I know I'm close to needing to swap batteries, I'll go ahead and top off the cartomizer and swap batteries so everything starts fresh at the same time.

If I don't top off the cartomizer when I know it needs more eliquid, or don't top off the cartomizer when I change to a freshly charged battery, the cartomizer may forever taste toasty, nearly burny, after that. I try really hard not to let it get to that. Makes the cartomizers last the longest.

I second that motion. I just got a few drip tips from them. They had a huge sale. Drip tips were only 99 cents. :D
I think they're like 2 bucks now.
I think they ran out of the plastic swirly ones though. Bummer, cause I wanted more. Shoulda-woulda-coulda ordered more.
They do have newer swirl ones, but there is very little color. It's basically a clear plastic with a strip of color swirled on it... Meh...

Same here. It's just not good for them to vape 'em dry, so I top off before it reaches that point.

I don't care for clear drip tips. Frankly, I don't like seeing the condensation in there. Turns me off a little.

It is kinda gross looking....lol. I personally prefer the aluminum DT's. I have a couple of delrin and plastic....and they do get used, but my first love is the metal ;)

Dunno, aluminum DTs make my teeth feel funny. I got a beautiful hot pink one for my pink battery and just cannot stand that funny feeling/taste on my teeth from it. LOL!!!!

Bingo! Just ordered one of the new sealed batteries and my treasured Desert Joe eliquid. Woot!!

Nice! (on the new order)
I don't care for how the aluminum DT's are so cold against my lips. Bugs me a little. I really love the new acrylic swirled/twisted types. The color assortment is amazing, as is the look and feel.

I've heard a few people say the same thing  I guess if I got that, I wouldn't like them either...lol. Actually the only time I don't much care for the aluminum ones is in the middle of winter....boy do they get cold outside!

I wanna hear the word RAIN! We've had under 2" of rain since the beginning of April. Broken all our records for drought and high temperatures, more than 90 days of over 100F degrees. Wild animals dying of thirst and hunger, abandoning their young, trees and grass all dead or dying, rivers and lakes drying up, crops dead and blown to dust in the fields, even drinking water for humans is getting scarce. Weather folks saying we may continue this drought for another 18 months. It's turning into a desert in central Texas.

Oh man - That's awful. I have two sisters in Texas, and they're saying the same. I hadn't heard about another expected 18 mos. of this though!! :( Any of the fires near you ?

I don't like it either  Unfortunately that is what most of my year consists of :(

Oh Jan....I wish I could send you some rain...I am tired of that word here.....It is definitely needed elsewhere...we've had more than enough. Here's to hoping and praying those weather folk are wrong and you get some of the wet stuff REAL soon :(

And here I am jumping for joy over getting to use my umbrella. Sorry, Jan!
Miracles happen every day, and those weather clowns have been known to get it wrong...just look at how inappropriately I dress for the weather every day! :)

ps: using a 3-month-old carto right now, cleaned like craaazy...yep, I think that's really as far as they go - this one's outta here!

I've been in Ohio once. Hamilton. Stayed at the hotel and on the same floor as the Legionnaire Disease guys (it felt haunted). In July. It was HOT and it RAINED! There was a flash flood warning. There was just not enough hair spray in Ohio for me that week!

I don't like the way the condensation looks either. I got an aluminum one, a plastic swirly red one, and a translucent grey one. You can see the droplets in the grey one and it looks a bit gross. The problem I have with the metal one is that if I have my volt hanging from my lips... It's hard not to bite down on the metal. I thought I chipped my tooth for a minute... Otherwise, the metal looks great. The swirl one is just cool all around, but my GF thought so too, so she stole it. :(
I wanna find some soft drip tips that will hold the weight of my Volt and are soft enough to bite down on.

Hi all *waving* I vote for non-metal drip tips.

Jan, I'm feeling badly for Texas. We know what it's like when the rain doesn't come, too. Mostly I hate thinking about the poor animals. We at least have a river they can get to - if they can get across the road safely. Rain is such a novelty here that when it finally shows up, everyone comes out of the house/office to watch.

I'm sorry, but that just cracks me up! Ya gotta watch us female types around the pretties. They are gorgeous though. I probably would've swiped it too. Could just buy a new one ...

Anyhow - someone else here was looking for a soft rubber tip that would hold the weight of the PV recently. Since I can't remember who, when, or what (if anything) that person found, you may have to wait awhile for that person to see your post. I did a search and didn't find it. *sorry*
