That doesn't sound like much fun. My husband is in that same predicament, being the only mechanic in our immediate family. He spent a good 8 weeks rebuilding the engine for my son's new old car. It was a tough project for him.

I worked on Autos for nearly 20 yrs. The Kids know my toolbox is retired, but you know shes my grandgirls momma so I dont have a choice :D

Realized my old .... is getting slow at repairs too..

Hello, Everybody! :)

My husband texted me to say that a full moon rose over our east foothills and how cool it looked. It made me wish that I was with him, not clacking away at the keyboard. I'm writing up a detailed review of the Volt and plan to see it published and Twittered by Monday or Tuesday. Have to spread the word. ;) That's what I'm doing tonight before The Office comes on.

DM: Hope your remodeling and spring cleaning goes smoothly, quickly and cheaply. It's funny how once you make improvements to one room, the rest of the house looks like it could use a lot of work.

SamuraiiJill: Yes, we do need our own subforum . . . ASAP.

Nicnac: Welcome! :) I've been using the Volt going on four months and am still very happy with it.

Rave: I would love to see those gadgets moving about the house . . . especially if I had cats. :D

CarrieD: Those animals are sooo cute!!!

Laura: Your USB port is one more thing to add to our SI wishlist. :2cool: Very nice!

Thanks, can't wait to see your review!

It is kinda rubberized too so it didn't need the super heavy duty industrial velcro to hold it up either.

OMG you just brought back a childhood memory!

When we were young the basement walls had carpet on them and we would throw the kittens at them and when they clung on we would yell "VELCRO".

We didn't throw them hard or from a long ways away. Never hurt the furbabies - we loved cats! Still funny though!

We had a true blue 70's crazy shag like couch we use to do the same thing with the cats except we would say spidycat :D

Oh hey guys I have a question!

So erm..how long and how many times do the cartos last? Asking because for some reason 3 of my cartos ive been refilling are starting to taste very very burny, even though Im refilling them the same as usual and nothing has changed.

Is there a point where they just poop out? I did order more but wont get em till Monday. Dont wanna have burny cartos.
There must be some remedy surely?

PS: I will post a pic of my new emerald green hair tomorrow with my green Volt :) I realized I needed a color stripper over the black

If you're sure you haven't vaped them dry to cause the "burny" taste, you could try cleaning them. Lots of different methods for cleaning, and they all work somewhat - just go on YouTube and do a search for "carto cleaning."
They do "poop out" after awhile, even with cleaning. The heating coil just gets so covered with stubborn burnt up crud that it can't effectively heat the liquid anymore (the liquid can't get to the coil past the crud). If you notice the carto getting really hot but you're not getting any vapor, that's probably what it is. Sometimes the crud melts a little bit into the liquid too, causing that "burny" taste (but unfortunately not enough to clean the crud completely off the coil. bummer). Just how long it takes to get there depends on the liquid you're using - sometimes 3 days, sometimes a couple of weeks. With cleaning, the longest I've gotten a carto to last and still work well has been a couple of months...but with a lot of effort! And they're never quite the same after cleaning...so yeah, if you don't like off-tasting weenie vapes, keep a few new ones stashed away at all times!
