I hope it is ok here but I'm lost on the net. I love my volts truly love them. but I have this prob.....
The filler in a carto kills my throat. Took me a bit to realize where my prob was coming from. It seems some of us, for a lack of another thought are sensitive to it?

Well I'm down to my last atty and finding 901 atties is hard I'm sure 808s will fit?

So my question, where can I find atties that will work on my beautiful volts the don't require a site in china?
Better yet SI ever think of selling atties, colorful or not?

If you're sure you haven't vaped them dry to cause the "burny" taste, you could try cleaning them. Lots of different methods for cleaning, and they all work somewhat - just go on YouTube and do a search for "carto cleaning."
They do "poop out" after awhile, even with cleaning. The heating coil just gets so covered with stubborn burnt up crud that it can't effectively heat the liquid anymore (the liquid can't get to the coil past the crud). If you notice the carto getting really hot but you're not getting any vapor, that's probably what it is. Sometimes the crud melts a little bit into the liquid too, causing that "burny" taste (but unfortunately not enough to clean the crud completely off the coil. bummer). Just how long it takes to get there depends on the liquid you're using - sometimes 3 days, sometimes a couple of weeks. With cleaning, the longest I've gotten a carto to last and still work well has been a couple of months...but with a lot of effort! And they're never quite the same after cleaning...so yeah, if you don't like off-tasting weenie vapes, keep a few new ones stashed away at all times!

Ah ok I figured there was a time limit somewhere. Its strange theyre only a week or two old and I refilled them last night, vaped on them to see how my mixes were (all SI juice too) and they were just super burnt tasting. I showed my bf who also said they were a bit burny. So weird how they were working perfectly fine 10 seconds before I refilled :p

However I have no thoroughly cleaned any of them.
Possible this will solve my issue?

Also has anyone tried adding a touch of baking powder to the water when boiling them? I was thinking this would really get out some of the deeper residue. Good idea/bad idea?

Has anyone tried Cherry or watermelon? Im looking for some tasty fruit cartos from SI

I wasn't fond of the cherry. It tastes like cherry cough drops to me. The watermelon was better than I anticipated. It tastes like real watermelon. The flavor is subtle and comes stronger in the aftertaste.

Never used baking soda it might work, or it could cook the atty. I have always had success with the boil method. I boil usually 3 times sometime up to 5 depending on the water. when the water is clear and no odor, I rinse and dry for at least 24 hrs. I do this at a min of every 2 weeks have not had many cartos that didn't last at least 2 months or more.

I would think that Baking soda might be hard on the filler but I am no chemist - I was a mechanic :D

Vapian has a neat way of cleaning /filling carts check it

Ditto cherry was to much like robotusen to me. The classic grape is by far my fave fruit type. Watermelon didn't do it for me either. So basically after all this wind, I am saying other than the CG no recommendations :D

But the 555 with a little grape or watermelon... HMMMM Ill get back to you on that

Adrena - I have (5) unused 901 atties (2 black, 1 red, 1 green, 1 woodgrain) that I was gonna sell on the Swaps thread for $25. PM me if you want 'em. :)

I would try Liberty Flights. They have all sorts of attys, and if the 901s won't fit the Volt, you can maybe try a 510 with an adapter that screws on between the battery and atty (those are in the Mod section). They're good about replying to emails, if you have any questions about what to get.

It's too bad about the cartos - SI are the best I've ever used.

Adrena - It looks like this may not work out at all. I just tested a couple of 901 atties. They were just great on the old, unsealed batts, but won't cooperate on the new sealed Volt batts. :(

I'm thinking that maybe you could remove the filler material from Volt cartos and replace it with blue aquarium foam or PTB? BRB - Off to test this ...

Great idea - I've heard good things about that aquarium foam.

LOL - What would YOU rather do: Scrap frost off of a windshield and go Home Depot shopping or play games with PV's?

It works BTW - Pretty tasty as well.

I'll go ahead and send those 901 atties out to ya though. Us Volties have to stick together. :)

Actually if you look at the top of their site they have both a U.S. and a U.K. side. Click on the U.S. side and then the 20% off coupon at the top left before you shop. They ship U.S. out of San Diego California. I used to do a lot with them before I switched to SI and the 808s. Last thing I bought from them were some 510 to 808 adaptors so I could use my old 510 manual bats to burn off any overfill before I put it on my auto Volt. Also if a carto is starting not to produce I can vape the rest of the juice out of it with the fat manual bats before tossing it.

The reason I haven't been around much is after the "upgrade" this forum has been a royal pita. The pages bounce several times while loading the fb, auto save and google junk and if I click too quick to move through it I get the do you want to navigate away message to click off. At first I thought they would fix the bugs but after reading the threads on it it seems they're trying to tell users how to adjust their computers or which browsers to use to fix the forum, which I have no intention of doing. I don't even know if they're working on it anymore or if this is as good as it's going to get. Also the auto save thing seems to make this pane a pain to use for more than a quick reply sometimes so I usually just check it and read occasionally but don't post much. The text is bouncing around now as I type this so I'm going to end my rant. I'm still here though, just not as active or as often.
