Lunabella you expressed my frustrations and ire with the new members forum exactly. With the exception of Dormouse and a few others who present facts about the different pvs available, I wish the modders would just stay in the modders forum. They're doing more damage than good in confusing the new vaper with tons of false information and totally ignoring the new persons needs and request in their op. When I got my first Riva on their advice I didn't mind the button or the size so much but the fiddling with atomizers, carts, trying to drip etc. almost sent me back to analogs, plus I hated the attention it drew in public and having to explain ten times a day to people what it was. Not conducive to imitating the smoking habit or developing a comfort zone until I got used to vaping. I think some of them downright lie about cig size to promote their agenda, especially one Darwin salesman. He must be lieing becasuse I'm sure he's not that ignorant. Others have probably just tried the older inefective small bats and now paint all cig size with the same brush. Either way they are so removed from being new they are spouting confusing advice. If you follow the newcommers posts after asking which one to buy in a few days when they get their order you'll see their posts asking for help because their new pv isn't working or the atty smells bad or a multitude of other problems trying to get started. Soon after you may or may not hear from them again depending on how badly they want to stop smoking or whether they've thrown the pv in the drawer and written it off as too much trouble and a bad investment. You just don't see that many or those kind of problems in the 808 forums. Rolygate said it best in a post. 510s are for people who like to fiddle and 808s are for people who don't. Wish I still had that link because nothing has been more of the truth.
One good rant deserves another.

Hey Wuzznt Me! I knew I wasn't the only way that felt that way! I do personally feel that if someone is trying to get off analogs and want something cig-sized they should be lead in that direction and provided with info about something fiddle-free and solid. If I got my Ego as my first starter kit, I don't think I would have quit smoking. I needed (and still need) something that looks and feels like an analog.

The forum can be very intimidating when starting out. I ordered a starter kit before I joined ECF, and then ordered an Ego on advice of ECF members before I even received my first starter kit. I felt as if I'd made a horrible mistake buying my first kit and bought an Ego to 'fit in'. Well what a waste of $$ that was. I never liked it and could never see myself using it in public.

Telling people that Volt batteries don't last as long as an Ego/Riva is a fact. Saying that the Volt doesn't perform as well as an Ego/Riva is an outright lie.

Long live the Volt!! :vapor:

I ordered 2 kits when I started: the Volt, and a Provari. Everyone drools over the Provari but it just wasn't for me. It was harsh and I didn't like the menu system. I know I probably could have fine tuned it to my preference, but I sold it in the classies and kept the Volt. I do, however, still see members all over the place talking about which atty they use, which drip shield, or, as in the case of the Darwin, how many watts they vape at. It is a lot to digest, but at the end of the day the Volt satisfies as well as the others and their customer service is tops.

BTW - I am envious of all of your Volt banners! I had one but was told by a mod that it was too large and violated the rules. They said the max size is 400X65, whatever that means. Oh well.

My Volt usb charger has a tiny light on one side. Red = charging. Blue = charged. The red light on the wall adaptor stays red anytime it's plugged in. Are you using a Volt usb charger? On the pcc I gues you would have to push the button that toggles between the pcc bat charge and the battery charge but I'm just guessing about that one.

Cookies??!!!!!

Yeppers - Warm out of the oven. Now I've got gingersnaps and chocolate chip.

It was so funny: My son is on call for the weekend. His boss called him up to tell him that there was an emergency he had to go to downstate. I could hear him in the living room on the phone:

"What?! (insert mild expletive here) I can't go! Mom's making COOKIES!"
