I received my New Years Eve sale order today! The copper battery and orange LED rock! I also got a surprise SI disposable e-cig! It was in it's own retail-like package. It's white with a blue LED. It's labelled Menthol high-+18 mg. Of course, I had to try it, even though I should have given it to my still-smoking girlfriend. The flavor is O.K.-not as good as the regular SI flavors, but it would do in a pinch. It definitely has a more tobacco taste to it then the Menthol Burst which I love. Thanks for the freebie Imagine and Smokeless Image! Anyone else get one?

I got one too...mines country tobacco..hope it doesn't taste like cowboy becaus I'm not fond of it but either way it was a nice surprise and great to have in an emergency! Thanks SI

Since we seem to be off-topic this evening, I'll share something I've been doing recently. Back at the end of October, I gave the barn owner a gift of a picture I had drawn of her horse from a photo I took. She was very enthusiastic about it and said I should try to sell portraits of people's horses. I was skeptical, thinking that it sounds good, but it's not that easy. But she hired me to do some pictures, and I got some others, and before Christmas, I was fairly busy. Granted, it wasn't enough to live on, but I actually made some money. Recently, I tried doing my brother's dog, and it came out really well. If I can expand from horses to dogs and maybe cats (have to try one yet), then I'd have a larger clientele. I'm lousy at portraits of people, but customers keep wanting me to put people into their pictures! Any hints about doing better portraits? Rave, I know you were an animal artist. Did you get requests for people, and what did you do about it? Any hints or someone just starting out? My medium is pastel, since it's cheap compared to oils, and I have the equipment already, though I bought more as I saw a need. So if you want to see the pictures I've done so far, they are on my Facebook page, and even if you aren't on Facebook, you should be able to view them with this link: Artwork | Facebook

So now you can just have to keep trying out ways to make food that's good for you FUN! Tons of ways to do that! Just so you won't keep "Un-liking" us..
...and the veggie burger example was for my going vegetarian, not for my mom having Diabetes. Real meat actually grosses me out now. Just goes to show, preferences really can change.

Never will really "Un-like" anyone here BTW; was just "Joking" that is why the

And - Personally, Love to cook and can make a lot of "dishes" that are FUN ! ! !

Even allot of Vegetarian" Dishes before I got Diabetes - Hey I was a "Hippie" too back in the day so I got a number of Friends that are vegetarians - Ya KNOW ;)

As for my Preferences - they always change - just not "My" Orientation

Have you tried the Morning Star sausage? You can't tell the difference from actual sausage. I agree I love the meat substitutes.

Quite Delightful, even like their Burgers . . . However prefer the Turkey Sausage I get from my friend who makes them fresh for me in the mornings ;)

Yes, kill the onions. It really doesn't add much salt, since it's washed away in the rinsings. Just about what you might want to add anyway or might be in a prepared dressing. Try it, and you'll see: the onions are milder but still crunchy -- not cooked, yet not really raw. I guess it's like a quickie pickling w/o the brine.

My ex-husband was a Turk, and this is one of the recipes he taught me that I really like and have taken with me throughout life. (BTW, that's why I have the odd last name of Su -- in Turkish it means water.)

NO - Need to rinse them at all - I LOVE ONIONS - Raw, Cooked, and in alone in "Sandwiches" w/a little lite Mayo - YUM ! ! !

Turkish FOOD - When Can I come to Dinner - Can only find Good Turkish Food in NYC . . .

Oh and BTW: I make a "Mean" Real Armenian Kabob with a lot of onions and parsley too (I know not turk but still GOOD :D) . . .

Okay - I think we have taken over the thread long enough about Food and Menus . . .

I'll PM You that recipe from the "Alice's Restaurant" Cook Book later :)

hi gadgettx23 welcome  well most of our juices are all pg with some vg for flavoring we have a few like that are 80/20 and a few that are 90/10
Maybe this has been brought up since, but I couldn't find it. I'd like to know the PG/VG blend for Smokeless Image juices. I would assume Imagine's statement to be official, but many others, even on this thread, have said it to be 80/20. Could I get an official clarification?

Thank you

**Edit: I thought I was quoting Imagine... It was from Rave I guess. Anyway, still wondering what it is for sure.

Not necessarily - Couldn't get around much yesterday so ECF was out. On a lighter note: Since I was not getting around very well, dinner was made for me by my son and his gal. Tater Tots! Where did I go wrong? They did offer me ketchup ...

My eyes must be getting worse, as well as my mind. When I first read this I got..my son and his gal, Tater Tots.

.....dork.....

nice xmas present! My multibillion dollar company gave me, um, um, well nuthin. They used to give us trinkets (literally, like a xmas ornament) but now they 'make a donation on our behalf' to something or another. Much better they do that than waste money on an ornament with their stupid logo on it (as if I'd ever put that on my tree).

Don't hold back Star, tell us how you really feel. :D

I think I gotta defend DH on this vacuum thing. I really wanted that new vacuum and he knew it. I kid around, but I'm married to a really good guy. He stayed with me through menopause. Now that's a REAL test of a man.

My wife and I went through menopause together. Not the so called Manopause but full blown menopause induced by part of my boy cancer treatments for about 18 months. Flashes, night sweats, mood swings, the whole nine yards. It was kind of humorous at times like when some women would say you don't know what it's like and my wife would tell them oh yes he does. Got in trouble in Church one day when a lady in front of me in the choir loft broke out in a flash and started fanning with her bulletin. I leaned up and whispered, "kinda like having your own personal summer ain't it." You shoulda seen everybody trying not to break out laughing.

the ones we have been handing out have been discontinued....they are perfectly fine but not the current volt design or liquids.. :) we will have trial packs available soon on the sight we have decided to add them and disposables as well in soon :)
Can we order the disposables online, too? That would be a good choice for those wanting to try e-cigs w/o making a huge commitment of money for a starter kit. If they had been available, I would have sent my daughter one or 2. As it was, I sent her the disposables I had tried, but she wasn't interested in pursuing e-cigs. Maybe she would have been with SI's products? I know that when I first wanted to try e-cigs, I ordered disposables so that if I didn't like them, I could give up the idea right then and there. Fortunately, I liked them well enough to keep looking and found the Volts.

aww sorry about that...they should fit just tightly...

good news is the new pcc is offically in production and should ship this week !!! :)
Got my order too, but no surprise freebie - maybe you were the 100th order that day or something.

I did get the USB I wanted even though the site wouldn't let me order it - thanks Imagine :) I have every intention of paying for it, so we'll have to finagle something.
Also got the new carrying case. Jury is still out. I can't fit my batteries in it with cartos attached, so that's a bummer. And it has that funny rubber smell. Hoping that if I just let it sit out for a week or so that will go away, cuz I don't want that to transfer to the cartos. You really need to speak to the people who designed this and see if they can make it just the teeniest bit longer to fit the 78mm w/carto. But if the smell goes away I'll keep it, cuz it is at least nice for carrying some extra stuff.

Now I shall go into stalking mode waiting for the new PCC instead :)

Whew....finally made it through yesterday and today's posts! lol

My order from the New Year's sale came today too. How does SI get it here so fast? I feel a lot more secure with 10 more boxes of blank cartos on hand. The carry case will work great for me as I plan to use it to carry xtra batts w/o cartos attached and extra cartos on the other side. The 78mm is a very tight fit with an ash cap, but doesn't fit with a diamond cap...with the carto attached.

Today I went to my doctor for a checkup. The nurse and the doctor were both VERY glad to hear I was vaping instead of smoking. And I was glad to find out that my doctor is in favor of using ecigs. But even if he hadn't been I would keep using them; they're the only thing that can keep me away from tobacco. But I still haven't gotten rid of the "token" cigarette. Eight months ago I went back to vaping full-time and smoked 3 cigarettes a day. Two months later I got the Volt and went down to two a day. Now I'm at one every day or two. I have also dropped my nic level from 24mg to 18mg and am in the process of dropping it to 12mg. So even though I can't say I'm smoke free, I'm happy with my progress. I smoked between 1 1/2 to 2 packs a day for more years than I care to say.

Anytime anyone tried to convince me to do people I just shrugged them off saying "Naw - They don't have enough fur or feathers." They would laugh and drop it at that point. I also did not accept commission work because my best paintings were portrayals of things that I was passionate about - not someone's pekinese. Unless it was a wild critter, I wouldn't paint it; and I did well enough financially by painting what I wanted to feel free to turn down offers.

Okay - you asked for it! Your pastels are lovely! They reflect your love of horses perfectly. Your proportion is good - That's what most people mess up on when depicting animals. My favorite is the third one in from the left (top row), and I believe it's because the color is more saturated than the others. Since I've never worked with pastels, I have no idea how difficult it is to get good, strong coloration.

There are two things that strike me as a bit off. Number one is that I can tell that you have no interest in spending much time doing backgrounds. I can relate - lol. But a good subject needs care on the backgrounds as well. They don't need to be detailed. Try taking photos of a focused subject where the background is somewhat blurred. You can always do something like that for a background that complements your subject. A darker background for a light subject and a lighter background for a dark subject. I always start painting what is farthest away and work my way forward while blending, taking care that my subject doesn't look "cut and pasted" onto the background.

Number two is subject "depth". Many folks make the mistake of thinking that all shadows are black. You didn't, as I can see on the man's shirt. Inner folds are a deeper blue than the outer folds. So - You're one step ahead already. But I think that you could use more shadowing and highlights, and more saturation and contrast in general. Just my :2c:
