The battery post is that protruding round nubby in the middle (looking at your pic). You want to clean the channel around that so that there's room for air to flow around in there (which comes in from the two tiny holes on the side of the thread, so don't forget to poke those too). :)

Thank you!! That's good information about keeping that channel clean!

Doin your homework before spending your money. Sounds like a smart move to me.

Guess research would have been a better choice of terms. Little tired myself.

I have been doing my homework or research for many days but to be honest I made a mistake already! I bought a tube mod and realized that I rather use something that looks like a cigarette even if I have to change batteries more often so I had to return it along with batteries and a charger! I hope you get some good sleep tonight too! :)

The post on a battery is the round thing (look in your photos) in the middle. In the photos one has a hole in it and one is solid with a groove. Those are the positive post on the batteries. Kinda like the button on the positive end of a AA battery.

Ahhhh! "Kinda like the button on the positive end of a AA battery." That makes sense!

Don't feel bad. Quite a few of us here have had or still have mods, egos etc. and now own these for a lot of reasons. Let me venture a guess. An E-Power maybe? Most of the people who talk the cig size down say they have a short battery life, some claiming only an hour. Nothing could be farther from the truth. The old style 510s probably did at about 150mah or less unregulated but the minimum I've gotten out of a 78mm 320mah was 3 hours once from chain vaping. 4-6 hours on a charge is normal for me.

I've been using alcohol prep pads from the band aid dept at WallyWorld. Box of 100 is $1.00. I wrap them around a toothpick to clean channels, carto bottoms etc. $.01 ea I can afford. If I need something a little tougher I use alcohol eyeglass wipes. Little more spensive.
Now, see? Ya learn something new every day! I tried dampening a paper towel with alcohol and doing the same thing, but it just kept falling apart and getting poked by the toothpick!

I think the 1-hour thing is still true of the gen 1s though, and there are still quite a few of them out there (like the brand I was using before Volt in July). Then they drop off to around 40 minutes after about a month - they drove me nuts! Couldn't even get through rush hour without having to recharge! AND, they cost twice as much as my Volts! I'm glad some of these newbies are finding Volt first.

Hi Cindy! Doin ok?
Aw, you know...money trouble...but I'm getting used to it now! :)

Man, I'm sore from prepping 300 pounds of really nice stationery grade paper for recycling today, and only got $12! I think I got ripped.
(things aren't THAT bad - just cleaning out my old printing shop)
Hope things are going well for you!

Hi guys! I have two questions before I can finish my order! I would like to be able to charge my batteries just using a wall charger. Maybe screwing the battery into the wall charger? Can I do this or do I need a USB something?? I'm not sure what to get. here are my options:

Volt - USB Wall Adapter 1.5A (Is this just for the passthrough? it has a USB slot so I'm worried that I need a USB thing.)

Volt - USB Wall Adapter

ALSO, do you prefer an automatic or manual battery? Thank you in advance!!! :)

The Volt battery screws into the USB adapter. You then plug the USB adapter into the USB wall adapter for charging. You can also plug the USB adapter into your computer USB port, or any other USB port, like an iPod charger.

Personally, I prefer the automatic battery for the volt. Especially if you are just starting out vaping.

One more question! I see that when you buy a manual battery you can choose between a 220mah and 320mah battery but I don't see a choice given for the automatic batteries. What mah are they? Thank you in advance!!

Click on the sealed automatic batteries read more. Scroll down to battery tube color. When you fill that in under it is battery length. 65mm=220 78mm= 320mah. Then pick an led color and you're done. 78mm bat is $1 more and well worth it in my opinion. Auto or manual is personal preference. I like autos. They perform well and one less thing for me to work at.

The shorter batteries (like stubbies) are 220mah, and won't last as long between charges. Some people do prefer them, I understand, due to carrying preferences, and for other? reasons. I think the 78mm 320mha batts are the best compromise, although I do keep a couple XL length batts (from another vendor) to use when I'm going to be out and about for 8+ hours and don't want to be bothered with changing out.
Hopefully, by the time my XL's die of old age, SI will be carrying Volts in XL (hint, hint, Imagine:D).
