The one reason I was excited to use the new B deck was to use up some of the massive amount of 28ga nickel I have.

I found it a little difficult to use 28ga comfortably in the W deck. You need 10 - 12 plus wraps to get the resistance up to where it should be. And things get a little tight in that little hole when your using a gauge that large.

I do and will revisit the B deck this weekend (Tuesday) and I'll try to stay calm and to remember that this is something I do to relax and enjoy my self. Deep breaths!

I'm sure I'll be right here for moral support if things starts to go south.

Oh and dang it it, looks like I missed something earlier that I probably would have enjoyed. [emoji85] [emoji86] [emoji87]

Yea I agree. The B decks greatest value may be NI200 builds.

:)

OK are you happy? Fluffy and semi packed KGD. Emulating the UK video guy. To soon to tell if it's a keeper but the flavor is WOW!

Just look at that fluffy love! Both sides of KGD pealed away.

Sort of off topic here, has anyone built the SqR using wire mesh? (ala genesis days) somebody somewhere said it gave them the best vape from the SqR they've ever had?

God it's been so long since I used 500 mesh or 400 mesh, I may have forgotten how to use it. LOL

I have a few ZAP' and they originally used mesh, and then later on used the ceramic wicks.

The problem with mesh is that essentially it is conductive, thus the need to pre-oxidize it real well (you can buy pre-oxxidized mesh).

If it becomes dry it can burn the oxidization off and cause a rather unpleasant burnt taste from the hot spot, that you will never get rid of until you replace the mesh and re-wrap it, not to mention that mesh does very poorly with micro coils.

Likewise ceramic is horrid, even if it is in a Genesis style atty, I mean it works but I've never been impressed with its wicking ability.

I have found the best wicking material to be KGD cotton, or Ready X Wick.

The RXW is treated and unlike silica it does not ravel apart, and cannot be burned or destroyed by vaping heat like cotton can, you cannot burn RXW!

RXW also to me has no taste at all, and can be cleaned by dry burning it, as where we all know what happens to cotton if it becomes dry!

I am aware RXW is expensive ($8.00 per foot), but it is indestructible!

When I get a new style atty or I am experimenting with builds I will always use the cotton as it is much cheaper to test with.

No sense in wasting the good stuff if I'm not happy with the build...

I even use RXW in my drippers, packing KGD in the juice wells, as it wicks as good if not better than cotton! :thumb:

Thanks all. Well...it's a new day and I've taken my meds and am currently ingesting huge amounts of caffeine and vaping my new UK vid guy emulation build /lol

P1010095.jpg

The pic is after about one tank this AM. I'm generally quite happy with the results so far. I use a VERY NARROW bore drip tip from my KF. The one with a single O ring and not the shorty with two orings which they currently ship on the old better version. /lol I also use the second to the largest air hole. I've had a couple of small dribbles (3) out of the air hole. Then I switch to the largest air hole and everything is fine. Then I switch back. I'm a confirmed flavor chaser. I admit it. I'm guessing that my draws compared to some of you clan members don't move as much air across the coil and thus I burn less juice per draw than you do which may contribute to the little dribbles via a very small amount of juice that's left over from my draw and over time accumates enough to cause a small dribble out of the air hole. /wew I am currently running a 6MG 50/50 Apple centric mix of my own at around 1.3. I'm really not a sub ohm or cloud chaser but that's just me.

:)

The 2nd hole is a little tight for me and I like it tight. The third hole is just right (for me). I have experimented with the 2nd hole and when I did it didn't whistle.
The middle hole is my favorite too, it gets the most use. Every more and then I like to open 'er up () and take a coupe lungers.

I have found something worth sharing about the Squape R'

Whenever you refill your tank, go ahead and pre-wet your wick and base cotton (if using a B deck).

I noticed that when changing flavors or refilling I wasn't getting the same quality of flavor consistency; not a dry hit, but similar...

I started this practice some ago time on most of my RTA', and it seems to work! :thumb:

Are you saying when you rewick with new cotton? Not when your just refilling with the same flavor using the same cotton? Because I usually refill before I'm completely empty and my cotton is still wet, usually. Or am I missing something. Cuz that wouldn't be the fist time. ;)

No,

I saying that each time I refill I re-prime my wick, regardless of it being cotton or RXW.

I think it has something to do with the negative pressure that is relieved when you open an atty.

Similar scenario applies when you change out cartos or refill a carto tank...they don't hit as good until you have been vaping them a bit. :thumb:

...of course I vape like a freight train...many do not!

Just tried 5 different builds on the B deck earlier and had nothing but bad times. Either it would wick okay and taste like cotton or wouldn't wick at all and dry hit. I used all the suggestions I read on here as well as attempt to emulate the build posted a few pages back from the german youtube video minus the mesh and no luck. I've done about 20 builds on the W deck with never a dry hit but this guy is a totally different beast that I can't seem to tame. Anyone with a good build/method willing to post a guide in text/video form? I'm already about to give up. Wishing I had just got the D deck at this point.

Too much cotton inside the coil can cause the cotton taste whether it's wicking well or not. My B-deck isn't here yet, so I'll let others chime in.

BTW, what ID coil were you using?

Tried 2,2.5,3 and used the same amount of cotton I normally do on all my builds just kept more length for filling up the deck. I am using Bombies Black Out City which is 80VG I believe. Maybe this deck has issues with higher VG? I never had any issues with the W deck though.

Ah yeah I think you won't be getting enough juice flow with that heavy a VG.

Stattqualm recommends 60/40 PG/VG although higher VG will work, those 4 small feed holes are just that...small!
