Also Rikk i got the yihi sx350M before i left and its stunning. Was vaping on that mod for days and its just stunning. Need to try the TP mode but other than that i rek you may enjoy it.
Plus it's a different board to the dna's so could be even better for you. I love it and it's not that big either.

Mark bugs WILL release a dna40 wizard, no doubt. I'm pretty sure he said after the tank (gem) the dna40 mod would be on his agenda. It will probably be 3+ months at the earliest. But I'm Just guessing on the time frame.
I'm trying to master TC and having a hard time embracing it. Just not getting what I want out of it. I'm consistently getting a cooler vape regardless of temp setting. I've tried ni200 and titanium wires. I'm getting close to going back to kanthal! But my point to that is if I loved temp control, and bought the gem at $175 USD and hybrid it on my wae2 with a dna30 (no TC) that would upset me... Loosing TC (if I didn't hate it already). The wae3 or we3 will Be dna40 no doubt.
I'm sure the gem is amazing but based on the finish of the wae2 I personally feel it's kind of meant to be a wae2 device. In other words I don't think I would want it for a hana box, ya know....
I think a dna40 hana for $150 is a deal, the v4s (slim single battery) is the nicer looking hana's out right now and I like the orange/copper color myself - don't know if he still makes the gun metal, that was my favorite color from him.
The dicodes is an amazing mod, I almost bought one a few months ago... I think it's Sexy. I'm not sure I like the new oled screen... Would have to see it in person honestly... It's either going to look awesome or like a Chinese oled screen. The P3 oled screen looks awesome if not a bit cluttered. But just basic text like I saw on that UK ecig shop video.... I dunno, I'd have to see it.
I like that they (dicodes) offered TC tweaking for different wires. That was a great move that'll be added by everyone at some point. Especially since there is something called nickel purity now, and people are using titanium wire, and even ni200 with twisted kanthal and still getting TC. (yes that's a thing, look it up on youtube) having a fine tune mechanism in place was a smart move.
Stacking batteries in a tube mod? OMG, it's going to be like carrying around a maglite flashlite! Talk about light sabre. (vapor giant anyone)

@Phone Guy - I been following you a bit on your (Ti) venture. In fact I blew threw that whole thread today while at work (slow day). For a sec there I thought you were having pretty good luck with the Ti wire. Not so much huh? I say hang in there, really. It took me several weeks before I was happy. My happy place is pretty simple tho. Simple build, simple wire - nothing fancy, nothing twisted. Oh and I like twisted, just not in my builds [emoji12] But after reading the entire Ti thread, I wanna order me some so I can experiment. But really only because I thought you had better luck with it?
If I can get a nice warm/hot vape from my simple build - I know you can too. And it sounds like you're getting closer so DON'T give up yet.

I have a new Hana on the way. I've had such great luck with Evolve, from the 20 on up that I really wanted to stick with them. Besides, now they have the new atty lock feature that seems to be all the rage and I'm eager to try it on the new boards. But I'm also glad I have the option to turn it off. I've grown fond of and rely on refinement. The thing is - you don't even know it's there unless something wrong. But I think I would miss it if I didn't have it.
My best advice - tempered nickel. Second recommendation - start small. And read read read!

I've got a total of 8 DNA boards coming, 1x 25x 4x 40 small and 3x 40 large. Plus I bought a dna40 small on the classifieds about 2 weeks ago. 2 of the small 40s are going in my 2 Flasks, one for me the other for my wife who commandeered my first flask the SECOND my new one came in from China, it was funny... She obviously wanted it she never does stuff like that. and I've got 2 adult sons and a daughter in law (3 grandkids and a partridge in a pear tree). 1 son wants the 25, my daughter in law gets a 40, and the other son says he doesn't want one but I know he does now to answer your question, all the new incoming 40's have the atty lock feature, the 25 does not and the 40 I got on the classifieds does not.
My temp control journey started out positive (I thought) but I jumped the gun, the more I use it, the more I realize the vape is way less intense and less hot than kanthal. I feel the reduction in heat is causing me a loss in flavor, that may be a placebo effect and I'm man enough to admit that. I'm not use to this Insanely "cooler" Vapor. The titanium wire is Absolutely more durable than ni200. It must get hotter which is why it's suggested to run the Ti about 100f lower than nickel, so 450f ni200 should equate to 350f'ish on titanium...
I've never been a specialty coil builder, I play like I'm sure every one does or has done at some point, but I don't routinely want to twist, clapton, or zipper my Coils [emoji14] about as fancy as I get was parallel wrapping duals on a single screwdriver... And even that wasn't regular but I did more of those than anything else beside standard single micro Coils.
I just can't get the heat from TC, even at 600f! Yes I've tried 600f. And that's just a burn taste almost immediately.
It's just frustrating when I want to vape and what I get out of my favorite tanks (squape Reloaded and taifun gt2) is unsatisfactory. Especially since I KNOW what these 2 tanks are capable of. These 2 have pretty much shelved the rest of my attys.
And I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong!? Everything looks good, numbers are where they should be, settings seem correct, but the results are not what I want.
The only positive I can take away from this at this point is, I tried nichrome a long time ago and it really bothered my throat. I was worried ni200 would do the same... It doesn't. So that's good. But as of today, that's the only good.

But it sounds like Ti wire is close, or close enough to hardened nickel? But with that said, I'm just going to reiterate what I said before - keep it small and keep it simple. Get to where you're happy with that and then move on to bigger and better.
Grab your SqR and some 30 gauge. Clean your wire with alcohol. I use the 99‰ stuff. Do 7 wraps around a 3mm rod. It don't need to be purty. I gave up on purty along time ago.
Keep'em spaced, but they don't need to be super close because when you tighten your screws it's going to pull them closer together. Or it will pull them together if you place the legs on top and wrap clockwise around the screw. Don't snug them up too much because it can make it difficult to remove your rod. SIDENOTE: I don't wrap the legs completely around the screws. I just pull the legs back towards me.
With your rod still in place, make sure the coil is NOT touching any part of the deck. I take a small flat head screwdriver and move the legs away from the sides and position the coil wraps so they're not touching.
Once you're happy, remove your rod and stuff that coil with lots of fluffy cotton. Big'ol bowtie. Once stuffed, I just make sure none of the coils are touching, it's away from the deck and juicer up.
Start at 20 watts and set temp to 480 and start working from there. Up or down, play with both until you're happy. But don't try to over power it.
This exact build, powered at 17watts gives me a thicker warmer vape than my 13 Watt Kanthal builds. I think we are sort of after the same type of vape looking at your Kanthal builds. So I know this can totally work for you and be an extremely satisfying vape.
Take away - Tempered/hardened nickel or Ti wire. Keep it small and simple. Small does not mean weak or under powered. Don't try to force too much power at it. It doesn't need it. Work your numbers slowly.
One more quick note. This is a little trick I learned with my SqR. When you throw your squape on your Flask your build should be at about .14 ohm's. Make sure your 510 pin is clean, and if your readings are off, puller off and adjust your 510 pin and throw it back on and take another reading. Sometimes it right the first time - but sometimes I need to do it a few times. Once you're happy, juicer up and enjoy. Really! I find the more I use it the better the vape gets with time. Once the capillary action gets going on the cotton after a couple hours - Man - do I have a hard time keeping that thing out of my face.

Haha, I'm going to use the same verbiage you just did and say my W deck is so awesome and works so well that - if it ain't broke.....lol. But I got the B deck to experiment with different and bigger builds. So I just need to do it.
The only problem is my Squape is my hard hitter and it's constantly in my mouth so it's hard to try anything new with it. That why I hope they hurry and release the new SqR(s) because then I could use one to play with more.
I was on their website today just a drooling over it. Just what I need, more drool - No what I need is moooore money!

Sounds like i got lucky not ordering the B deck. I haven't heard one person say it's "better" than the W deck.

OMG, so I got some new juice in the mail today. But I've been chain vaping so much lately, and it seems to be getting worse that I decided to drop my nic from 12 to 6mg. I got a bottle of my all day vape from P. O. E. T and a new one I've never had before from ANML. (type that and see what auto correct does to you hehe).
I loaded up my Calix with ANML and OMG - no throat hit. I'm sort a freakin here. Does dropping down to 6mg make that big of a difference in throat hit? Please tell me no.... I'm hoping it's just the juice. It's the strawberry twizzler one. I'm so hoping my Dolce Crema tickles the back of my throat still or I may never drop down. Or do you eventually get use to it?

Nic, pg/vg ratio, build and coil placement, atty in general, power, etc...all make a difference in throat hit. You would need to try that same juice in 12 to see if it's only the Nic percentage.
