think about this , If they label it as an aid to quit smoking instead of a tobacco product then health insurance should cover it . I am assuming that health insurance covers stuff like nicotine patches . we just need it to become an aid to quit smoking that is nonprescription . this may just be another one of my crazy ideas though ...

Actually if its available over the counter most insurance will not cover quit aids. Patches, gum, and lozenges are OTC, so not covered. I dont know if you could write them off on taxes as a health expense though. To get Chantix, you must also participate in a cessation program, and docs write up Zyban as its generic welbutrin for smokers so the insurance thinks its a treatment for depression. Michigan does have a couple of free aid progrms, but ya gotta get right in or ya miss out. This has been my experience with my HMO at least.

What a bunch of BS!!!!!!!!!! I swear the air we breath is killing us off. The freeway has chemicals and cancer pollution! You know with the zillions of chemicals and kill yourself crap in cigarettes. They wanna go after ecigs my goodness. Don't they have anything else better to do with the time and money! Off tax paying AMERICANS!! The Land of the Free. Even if their dangerous as an adult we have the right to smoke cigarettes and drink our livers into nothing. We have the right to eat all the crap that is in our food. Additives, chemicals, fake ingredients, and omg not to mention over processed junk! Out the wazooha! People are losing their homes and are jobless. Hey Cali why don't you take the money from Octo Mom and buy some ecigs and chill out to some coffee flavor! You know a lot of you smoke cigarettes anyway n drink! BLAH!

I'm all for e-cigs and frankly I can't imagine how they can't be a safer alternative to smoking. The reality of it is though can you imagine if e-cigs turned out to be dangerous?
Heads would roll, everyone would blame the government for allowing it.

This story is totally unrelated but its the world we life in now. I'm just going to post snippets the story though is easy to find on google.

American Mother, Baby Killed by Elephant in Kenya. On a guide tour in Kenya a group rounded a bend in the trail ran into a elephant with her baby. The elephant charged and killed the mother and baby. A tragic thing, I'm not making light of it. But here is what the family said. "We're not stupid. We know we were in the wild and anything could happen. But the guide did not hesitate and said the walk was suitable. The owner did not hesitate and said the walk was suitable," he said

So your told taking your baby out in the wilds of Africa is "safe" when things go wrong its not your fault. I'm sure if e-cigs turn out to be harmful there will be plenty ready to sue who will claim ....the government didnt ban them so I assumed they was safe

Again I'm on the e-cig side in this

We get good news in one lawsuit, and another one rears it's head!!!

Calif AG Sues E-Cigarette Maker, Says Cigs Unsafe - ABC News

This lawsuit, and I am sure more will follow, just might be a good thing. I read Judge Leon's ruling and its plain and clear he is saying e-cigs are no more harmful than a regular cig. Of course we know they are safer and I know the Judge would agree but that's not what the ruling was about.

When the Calif. case goes to court you can bet the Judge presiding that case will be referring to Judge Leon's ruling. I am not saying SE will win that case but they have a very good chance.

Most of us know this is all about BT,BP and money! Judge Leon knows that too and I am sure the Judge presiding in the Calif. lawsuit will know as well. If not and the ruling goes against SE, they can appeal.
