If we do that we should sell it back o Mexico... they treat it like it's part of Mexico now anyway.

We can just build a wall around California too..

That is the best idea ever. While we are at it, can we sell New York to Canada too?

That would be harsh. New York City is the very identity of US. And to be honest, the best city in US.

While I can see the point. There is still a whole lot of crazy there. NYC is where they banned large sodas even for adults. I think that did get repealed but still. NY politicians can be just as controlling as CA politicians. Do we really want such a place with so many restrictions on freedom to represent our countries identity which is supposed to be the very freedom they want to repress?

You know... I loved visiting CA. I also kind of got the sense, "Been there, done that." I feel no need to return.

New York (state and city) were AWESOME, and I'd love to go back. It's just... The tax code. I sort of left, wondering if I'd have to go through some checkpoint to be weighed, and if I gained weight I'd get taxed for consuming too much of "New York," and if I lost weight, I would be taxed for leaving too much "In New York," that kind of thing.

My little brother is moving there to "live off the grid." I don't know if he'll die, or if he's really setting himself up for success by virtue of his inability to "buy" anything. Whichever of the two it winds up being, well, if I have to go retrieve his dead body for burial, I'd be afraid of being charged some sort of "excise" tax.

Give me NY any day of the week, and also a million dollars so that I could actually afford it.

Well if oppression happens its for the people will raise their voice against it. Just as the soda ban got dislodged. But to be fair, that was made in good faith. I live in Texas. So i can see the point!!! :p

Recently UK, is trying to impose, 25p cup charge for coffee cups from Starbucks and all. So its like, if you want to get a takeaway coffee, bring your own cups. Now it might be frowned upon in many places, but it is something that is done to reduce waste as those cups are un-recyclable.

All politicians try to exert some level of control over the people they govern, people dont just dont care as it might be party they voted for bringing in the change, or the rulings just dont bother them.

Like if tomorrow, there is a ruling on ciggs, i would not be bothered, coz i dont care anymore.

If we renamed it to assault juice the NRA would take care of it for us :D

Oh hell the NRA is as worthless as CASAA and others were when they declared that "some" manufacturers targeted children with their packaging and flavors...

Sure, all these alphabet groups claim to work for people's rights, all the while making silly conciliatory gestures by giving inches of people's rights away as if those portions shouldn't matter.

...

Shame that the folk in SF spoke their minds via the ballot box though

Can you really Blame them?

I mean there has been a State Run, Multi-Million Dollar, Ad Campaign exalting the Evils of e-Cigarettes for over 2 Years. Support by Slanted and Sensationalized News coverage by the mainstream media.

Do you think the Average Person in CA, or any other State for that matter, has been given even a Remotely Balanced presentation of what e-Cigarettes are? And what Benefits they provide on the Population Level?

This is why matters of Public Health shouldn't be decided on a Voter Level. Where Verifiable and Peer Reviewed Science takes a backseat to who has the Most Money. And Who can Bend the Truth the Best.

Afaik only about 33% showed up, maybe 28% voted against flavors and 5% pro, that's 28% of voters who pushed a steaming pile right into their britches at the mere thought of their children being in the same town as a bottle of flavored ejuice and about 5% that actually vape. So only 28% of the population fall for the scare tatics, sounds about right. The rest didn't care enough one way or the other to even show up to vote.

This ban is local, to the City of San Francisco, not state-wide. While it prohibits the the distribution and sale of flavored tobacco products within the city's jurisdiction, I don't read it as affecting their manufacture for sale elsewhere.
Just watch them ban internet sales or shipments of vaping products.

This is not about us but about millions of smokers...
When I got interested in vaping there was no shops anywhere near me so I learned it all from online youtube, twitter etc So as long as they see vapers they will find the information they need if they are serious about getting off the cigarettes.

Just make sure you have a respectable stockpile

#1 most important is Nic, I have 4.5 liters of PG base 100mg in the freezer

Then after that insure you have
  • A few good quality Mech's
  • A couple of your favorite regulated Mod's
  • Some 510 decks, get them from VT or Fat Daddy
  • Some quality RTA's and RDA's
Those are high priority, lower priority I would recommend stocking up on some quality Vaping wire, it may become difficult to find.

The rest of the stuff, PG, VG, Batteries, Flavoring and Cotton I wouldn't worry about it. Vaping is such a tiny percentage of the market for those I just wouldn't worry.
I am a stocker by nature so I started that long time ago. Set for about 8 years I think maybe longer. I started vaping just about 8 years ago and after buying some premade mixes and not liking them I quickly switched to DIY for my own use. Just like I prepared myself for Canada doing something nasty over vaping I wanted to be sure I would be covered no matter what. I still feel that was a smart move.

BTW2 - If Underage e-Cigarette use does Not significantly drop because of this Flavored e-Liquid ban, will this Ordinance be Repelled?

Or will they just Move On to some other FUD Based argument about how we have to Ban Something Else?
Probably find another way to go after the flavours or the nicotine.

I have a friend that lives in LA and she has a friend that owns a shop. I told her as soon as I heard about the vote that her friend needs to stock up in extracts and little cards that could be put in the bag for where to learn about mixing. I hope the shops in LA can make the change without them having to shut the doors. At some point I still feel the science will win in the end and all this crap that has and is happening will all be changed.

While I agree with everything said here, we have to be realistic. We are a very small community. No voter is going to take the time to study up on this issue. No politician wants the "you hate the children" card played against them.
In a society that actively promotes certain other substances and does not care a wit about the children while doing so, do you really expect logic and fairness?

Their ballot says menthol is a flavor so it isn't allowed, hopefully tobacco is considered a natural and not a flavor like mint and is allowed, that law is a little unclear, are all flavors except fruit flavors allowed or can you buy juice with the nicotine and the pg/vg content and no flavors at all. I am going to have to wait until this issue comes to my state and look at it closely because they are not saying what flavors are allowed, just that fruit flavors are not allowed, i.e. is coffee, hazelnut, and chocolate fruit flavor?
On my second read of that ballot it says "flavored tobacco products are illegal"

I remember seeing (somewhere) that Johnson Creek (hope got the name right) closed down. From my understanding he made his e juice from tobacco and it was very popular. I am not a fan of tobacco flavors as I quickly decided to enjoy sweets for vaping. The founder of Johnson Creek was on the documentary A Billion Lives I think .....my memory is very bad due to some brain surgery a year ago. Point is that is the one product that might have been safe on this new flavor ban. Not sure on how the others are made but have seen in extract shopping the tobacco flavors are there. So in my mind those are the same as my Banana Nut Bread flavor :)
