I attended the vape rally in Columbus, Ohio this morning. Approximately 300 - 400 vapers attended from all over the state of Ohio, from Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida, and Colorado. I am rejuvenated and optimistic again.

I was interviewed by WTBN10 TV Columbus for 10 - 15 minutes. If they run any part of it I will post it here later. The reporter said the station is going to run a special segment on vaping. The reporter seemed to be genuinely interested and seemed like he had done some homework on the subject. He even asked a couple of times was there anything that you would like to add that we hadn't covered.

Thank you to Jeff Kathman for providing the video.

Vapers rally on the statehouse grounds in Ohio.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine urges lawmakers to ban flavored e-cigarettes

"Gov. Mike DeWine said Tuesday he wants to work with state lawmakers to ban flavored e-cigarettes. At Tuesday’s news conference, DeWine said he had determined he didn’t have that authority, and the best course was to work with the Ohio General Assembly to ban the flavors."

Sounds like code for: "DeWine is a wuss, so instead of possibly turning voters against him, he did a lateral pass to the legislature so they can take the risk."

HOW TO LOWER THE USE OF TEEN vaping?

1)Better enforcement of existing age limits.

2)Tougher penalties for those who break the law. Includes adults (including relatives) who buy vapes illegally for teens.

3)Eliminate vape sales from convenience stores and gas stations that historically do a poor job with age verification.

4)Limit sales to only dedicated brick & mortar vape shops, and specialty online vape suppliers, that use appropriate photo ID verification. No valid ID, no entry and no sale.

5)Accept that no plan is going to be 100% effective. Prohibition has never worked in history. Kids have always gotten things if they wanted it bad enough. Kids will always experiment. They have eaten Tide Pods for God's sake.

6)Utah just passed legislation for limited access of vape flavors. Flavored vapor products are restricted to tobacco and vape shops and not convenience stores and gas stations (they are typically the stores that do not ID teens).
Utah health officials pass emergency rule limiting who can sell flavored e-cigarette products

If they did #1 2 thru 6 would be unnecessary.
