Oh God Yes!!! Let's get the goverment involved and start paying $60 for a 15ml bottle for Flue Cured.

This is the very thing that people are fighting right now on every forum that exist. Are we just not reading the postings?

I tried the regulated method with Nicorette, Nicoderm and Chantix.
I did stop at one time for about a month.
The first time I was around people that were smoking, so was I.

I got my first e-cig out of the mailbox at 4:30 on July 16th, 2009. I haven't smoked a single cigarette since (don't even want one).
I vape only US made VG and have cut that back to less than 16mg and <15ml a week.

Is it safe? Get a grip.... Life is deadly... We're all headed that way.

You are for a fact inhaling dangerous (not potentially) substances from the products that are used to make your home. Your exposed to radiation from the computer you're sitting at. Everytime you cook chicken on an open flame you're inhaling carcinogens that make cigarettes look like gumdrops. What's in Gumdrops? Aren't they made in China?
Every camp fire you've ever enjoyed released carcinogens and tars that are extremely dangerous to your health. Smores? Bad for you... Charred Marshmellows? Burned by a flame from trees that extract poisons from the ground (arsenic, lead, waste)? Looking pretty grimm isn't it? Ya know those backyard barbecues you love so much? Deadly vapors from the fuel and burning coal.. DEADLY!! Try inhaling that for thirty minutes and get back to us...

Is it safe? LMFAO... No it isn't.. Goverment regulations will not make it safe. They'll just make more money off of it.

The Sun will burn out and the Earth will be destroyed.

Have a good day and try to be nice to people in the meantime....
This is by far the best answer I have read, RE: The Subject of PVs.......
Thank you.

"Telling smokers they may not use e-cigarettes until they're approved by the FDA is like telling a floundering swimmer not to climb aboard a raft because it might have a leak."

The bolded part implies that you will still eventually die if it leaks...

A better way to put that would be

"Telling smokers they may not use e-cigarettes until they're approved by the FDA is like telling a floundering swimmer not to climb aboard a raft because you might get a rash from the powder that the raft was stored in."

I went through this phase too. I called it my "this must be to good to be true" phase. I read a LOT on a lot of different websites and learned a lot in the process.

There is not one ingredient in e-juice that's not already present in tobacco products, including the PG. The difference is all the ingredients that AREN'T in e-juice that are present in tobacco products, like arsenic and a bunch of other known deadly poisons.

If you're concerned about the juice, buy it from U.S. suppliers or make your own - it's really easy to do. And if you're worried about smoking the empty atty or cart filler then don't let your cart/atty run dry. There now, don't you feel better?

I can promise you with absolute certainty that with proper use e-cigs are not as harmful as cigarettes - but is anything as harmful as cigarettes?

Yes there is, very, very, harmful, however, with BIG brother watching, I can't say.

I use to get all worried about it, then I started looking at food ingredients, especially prepared or ready to prepare stuff. The coatings on microwave popcorn, cheetos etc...very scary. Most food is not real, look at a package of ice cream, a cheese slice, look at the increasing amount of diabetes and the high fructose corn syrup contents on darn near everything. Even stuff you think is healthy, organic vege's...full of sewage for fertilizer.
Every time you eat something or have a stranger prepare your food you run the risk of ecoli contaimination. Trust me, everything in our daily lives is scary and potentially harmful, I try not to over think it.

Actually if you underthink it, nothing but air is meant to be inhaled, this is just the lessors of the evils that smoking has done to us. If a nonsmoker picks up the habit of vaping because 'its cool' and they think they are totally safe since they are not smoking cigs, they need to be smacked just as anyone who picks up a cig for the first time.

I honestly think I was more addicted to the chemicals other than nicotine in cigs, the hand to mouth thing is also a huge habit. In the last three months I was able to cut back and have been at zero zilch for over two weeks. Over the next year (yes I said year) I'd like to decrease my nic down to zero and then I'll see where I am at.

on the side of all lorann oils it says "all flavor ingredents approved for use by the FDA" contents:natural and artificial flavors, proplene glycol an in some alcohol , water , colorings thats all thats in most flavorings. then to that add more PG or VG then nicotine powder or liquid. PG & VG are both fda approved and nicotine well its in so many other approved for sale products why is this special.

well if you buy liquid from usa you have much more healthyer juice.

and for the safe part, if you smoke cigarettes, there is 40k chemicals, and 40 cancirogenes on it, so they are no safe, it says in the side of the pack "We are no safe to smoke for any living thing" atless whit vaping we have a chance that it is not going to kill you.

and tthat is how i personaly see it.;)

I started mixing my own juice so I knew exactly what was going into it. Someone said it before.... Buying the hardware and parts from China isn't so bad..... (alot of our everyday stuff comes from there and we don't even know it)...... But as for the eJuice..... I'd rather know exactly what I'm putting into my body.

From the Wiki:
By binding to ganglion type nicotinic receptors in the adrenal medulla nicotine increases flow of adrenaline (epinephrine), a stimulating hormone. By binding to the receptors, it causes cell depolarization and an influx of calcium through voltage-gated calcium channels. Calcium triggers the exocytosis of chromaffin granules and thus the release of epinephrine (and norepinephrine) into the bloodstream. The release of epinephrine (adrenaline) causes an increase in heart rate, blood pressure and respiration, as well as higher blood glucose levels.[24]

By itself not dangerous, but for people predisposed to heart disease, or those already suffering from heart disease extremely dangerous.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not one to go for government regulation. Don't we have enough regulation already? The rate we're going I'm going to have to request permission from the government to use the bathroom, and that might take.. a while.
I can't promise it's safe, but I can't promise I'm not going to choke on my pizza when I order it for dinner. Or stub my toe and break my head in the basement when I do laundry. So if i break my head open does my family sue the builder, the real estate agent, the bank, and the broker who assisted me in buying the house? They could not for-see what dangers lurked in my basement.
Today I cannot talk on my phone while driving down the road, or text. I can't smoke a cigarette in a bar though all the patrons knew well in advance that the bar I frequent has smokers, and maybe it isn't safe for me. I can't drive w/out my seatbelt. I can't take the batteries out of my smoke detectors, and I couldn't buy my home until carbon monixide detectors were installed. I imagine it's illegal to take the batteries out of those too. My front steps have to be exactly so many inches high, or someone might hurt themselves. My tires have to have so much PSI, etc etc etc. All of this is government regulation.
Is no one else sick of it?
Yes, I want to know what a company puts in their juice. and Yes, if I find a company that has sent their juice to a chemical lab, and can send me a report of their findings, I'm more likely to pay a few extra dollars to frequent their shop. But am I really concerned in the long run about the safety? No. If I hadn't found this, I would likely smoke analogs until I got emphysemia. and I Dont know that I would stop then.

Reputable suppliers regularly batch-test their liquids. I don't know about the USA, but I've had good experience with e-cigs, Totally Wicked and Liberty Flights, all of whom have US partners. LF also has a good DIY range (unflavoured liquids/base/flavourings).

We can do some things to keep ourselves safe when vaping. Be careful when handling high-strength juice as nicotine is absorbed through the skin. It is actually very poisonous and should be handled with extreme care. Don't vape too strong a juice. When I first started out I found that I took up too much nicotine, so find the strength and rhythm that's best for you. I have no intention of quitting, but I vape more than I used to smoke, partly because it is easier if you have a charged and filled device at hand, Some people on the forum compare the things to adult pacifiers :D

Finally take care to keep your cartridge moist so that the material doesn't burn on the atomiser. Not only does this taste foul, it is probably unhealthy. I trim the protruding material with a pair of hair-scissors.

I ordered my first bottle of Totally Wicked juice (menthol 18mg) and got it yesterday. On the side of the box the juice bottle came in is a list of 16 ingredients in percentages. The print is REAL small and some of the words are REAL long. I don't have time to list them right now, but I'll try to get to it later.

I did notice that the percentages of each individual ingredient when added up came to over 100%.

I was at the point that I was buying the very, very cheapest cigarettes I could find and we often joked they tasted like sweepings from the tobacco barn floor. I feel much safer vaping than I ever did smoking.

I agree totally with this. The cheaper the cigarettes the worse they tasted AND they would burn up very quickly. My cigarette lasted half the time of others who were smoking a more premium brand.

Vaping has changed my life. My mother was a 2-pack a day smoker for 55 YEARS and she is down to about one pack per week. Hopes to be a nonsmoker by August. If you knew what a miracle this was..... you would vape too!
