Ok here we go

Ok here we go, I just picked up an aga-t got it yesterday tried setting it up with the supplied wick and wire couldn't get it to work, so I'm moving on and ordering the ss and some kanthol for it, my question is I'm going to be using it on a vamo, and I want to vape at about 4.5 or 5v but I'm not sure which wire would be the best to use, I've never done this before but with that said I'm am hell bent on doing it. I was thinking that maybe 325 ss and 28 kanthol, does any one have a better idea or am on the right track? Thank you in advance, I just want to know before I make the purchase.

i would start with 30 or 32 kan. - 28 will require several wraps and being new may give you problems with shorting and hot spots till you get wrapping and coil spacing down. as the number goes down the resistance drops as well, requiring more coils for same resistance. the vamo is nice that it has the built in Resistance checker

mesh and wire is easy once you get the hang of it check out some youtube for the drillbit method for building coils

I don't have any personal experience, but I'm thinking about trying one of the rba's. After some reading, I'm starting to think 500 mesh and 32 or 30 ga kanthol would be the way to go. Check out some of the threads in the rebuildable section for some good info.

maybe, would be close, i been trying 30 last few builds so can remember exactly, i run about 1.6 - 1.8 ish around 3.5 3.7 v.. i do have one with 33 and 3 wraps at 1.6 i think, just took it apart to clean it so i cant check again.

one trick i used to do is over wind the coil and leave the top lead a little longer so i can grab it, check the ohms on it, and if too high remove a wrap and check again.

in case you havent found a good source yet i use
rtdvapor for wire and batteries
and
okcvapes for mesh

Surgewse, I figured it out, I had it set up all wrong, and then redid it all wrong again multiple times, lol I went thru all the material that came with it, now I'm just going to buy some ss and kanthol. Oh well I knew I would have a hard time at first, all a parts of learning. But I'll get it, I think it will be easier with the mesh any way.

Ok I'm back, I have the wire and ss mesh, I did a 5 4 wrap and it says that it's a 1.4 ohm wrap, not bad but when I put my wick in it it only burns at the positive post and not the coil. Do you think I have to burn the ss mesh more? Help me please, this looks like a pretty killer set up. Lol thanks

the top coil is too loose, and/or the wick is too far from the pos post, usually this is what causes this. cruise around the RBA forums and you will see lots of help with this.
try taking a toothpick or something and pushing up on the coil to tighten it or use it like a wedge to pull the wick away from the center post a bit also.
