Thast's really interesting. I've always thought coffee reminded me of cigarettes and vice versa. I think I'll try some coffee flavors. And thanks for the other suggestions... all very helpful :)

I've only tried one coffe flavor so far ( a new one arrived today but I can tell it needs to settle before I touch it) but I love it...

That reminds me.... How many of your juices have you tried right away? I know if you don't have any juice you don't have much choice but it's true that some juices just aren't very good right when you get them. Try letting them sit a few days (shaking now and then) if you haven't already... from what I understand some can take up to a month to get very good (not often I don't think) also try to store them out of the sunlight... my apologies if I just told you something you already knew.

That is exactly what I needed to hear! It just nice to know that someone else out there is having a similar experience. Also, I too am smoking much less, around <10-15 a day, which is a big improvement from about 30 a day! So I still consider this e-cig thing a success even if I haven't quit completely yet. Any you're not kidding, these ECF members are awesome!

Glad to read that you're not getting discouraged. Every cig avoided is a win. It just takes some of us longer than others to make the switch, it took me about 6 weeks. I gradually decreased over time as i found the right flavors and strengths (though i had no problems with the sweet taste - i like sweet :)) .

I agree with trying a little higher nicotine 15-18 mg (you can mix your 24 mg juice with 12mg juice - half and half will give you 18 mg; a 1:2 mix will give you 16mg, and you might like some of the flavor mixes)

Is the coughing you get when you inhale more of a tickle that makes you cough? IMO, that's not quite the throat hit. It's hard to feel the TH when you're coughing. vaping can cause coughing if you try to direct inhale too hard, or if your throat is dry. Try a slow, gently draw into your mouth, then inhale. You can control the vapor a little better that way.

Welcome and good luck

@ OP, regarding your nic levels, if 12mg is OK most of the time, use that.....when you are wildly craving a regular smoke, take just a few hits of your 24mg juice. Relax for a minute and the cravings may subside. The extra hit when needed may help.

Flavor-wise, I've found a simple menthol (no tobacco flavor) nice, not sweet, almost not a real flavor. And I NEVER smoked a menthol cigarette, rather jones for a while. :) It doesn't interfere with the flavor of a good single malt either!!

I must be the only one who never experienced anything like this. Everything tastes exactly the same, at exactly the same flavor strength, as it always did.

me too. I've been an on and off smoker for six years (still call myself a smoker since i've been vaping for one day now...) but i never had experienced grand new scents and flavors when not smoking.

I've tried all of them usually on the day they arrived. I've heard that too -- that letting them sit can change the flavor. Seems strange really they'd need to age, but I suppose its possible. I do keep them out of the sunlight though.

That's exactly how I'm looking at it. Every cig avoided is a win. Right now, I'm just focusing on winning battles -- I'll worry about winning the war later. (...Just wish I could win a few more battles right now, lol).

I do think I'm going to play with the nic a bit.

Yes, the cough starts as more of a tickle in the back of my throat -- the upper part directly behind my mouth. I have tried both a direct inhale and drawing into my mouth first. Honestly it seems to happen more when I draw into my mouth first. Because of this, I would direct inhale more, but I find this hard to do naturally as it is not how I smoke cigarettes. With regular cigs, I always draw into my mouth before inhaling. Sometimes I hold it there for a min just for taste.

That gives me a thought... If I hold the vapor in my mouth very long, will the vapor start to condense back into larger and larger droplets? Perhaps that is an issue... ???

That's a neat idea. I'll give that a try. It's weird... I think I am getting enough nic, as I

There have been quite a few people suggest trying a menthol. I'm just unsure. I've always hated menthol cigarettes, but then again, many people that love to vape menthol used to hate menthol cigarettes too. Maybe its worth a try. Only other thing is... and this is weird, I know... but used to love mint, until in college I accidentally swallowed a whole peppermint. It got stuck in my throat, I couldn't breath, paramedics, etc... you get the picture. After that, just the smell of mint would make me gag. I had to use kiddy bubblegum tooth paste even for the first few years lol. Anyway, I don't really care for mint, but this is vaping, not eating/drinking.... maybe I'll react differently.

I'm sure lots of people can make good reccommendations for coffee flavors. I've only ordered two and tried one. The one I tried is DFW Vapor US Cappuccino (to me the taste is like the smell of fresh coffe grounds). The one I just got.... well hopefully it mellow I can't even stand to smell it right now. It's got a very strong alcoholly smell to it. It reminds me of something but I just can't place it.
