I have the PCC charging with the battery connected to the PCC, but there doesn't seem to be any indicator for the charge of the PV battery.

The battery ashcap blinked blue 3 times when I plugged it in, but then goes back to unlit, and the PCC has one red light on.

Are both batteries charging right now? How long do I need to let them charge?

That would be one of the older Fusion PCCs. The red LED on the left indicates the PCC battery is charging, the one on the right indicates the e-cig battery is charging. If the e-cig indicator didn't come on right away, it is probably because the PCC didn't have enoughncharge to pass on to the e-cig batt, so it had to charge a bit first.

And you can charge both at the same time, it just takes longer is all.

Perfect. Thx leaford.

So do the lights change colors when they are fully charged? Or turn off? Basically, how will I know when each the battery and the PCC are fully charged?

Also, do I need to charge these for a certain amount of time before use? aka will I damage the battery if I don't charge it for 8+ hours before using?

Argl. It's been a while since I dealt with these, but IIRC it should turn green, but will then go out to save power. IOW, whether it is green or goes out, it should indicate a full charge either way as long as it's not red. But you know what, give me a few hours and I'll let you know for sure.

No, nothing like that. There's no charge memory on li-po batteries, so no harm from either partial charges or frequent recharges.

still two red lights!

Patience grasshopper. ;)

It takes over 4 hours to charge the PCC, and 3-4 hours to charge an e-cig battery. Charging both at once is slower still.

But you're doing better than me, actually. Irony of ironies, my one and only sample of the old Fusion PCC seems to be defective. The charging indicator for the e-cig batt won't light up, but the e-cig's led blinked to indicate that it was in charging mode, so I'm going to give it time.

Fortunately, we're no longer using that manufacturer, and if yours does turn out to be defective we will of course replace it.

That's the normal behavior for a MaxxFusion battery's LED while charging, so all is good. It should stay lit while charging, then shut off when finished. But, we can't guarantee it will always stay lit with pccs or chargers from other manufacturers, including our older Fusion ones, so pay more attention to the LEDs on the PCC.

also, about how long can I use a cartomizer until I need to refill it/switch to a new one?
How long it lasts depends on how much you use it. For a pack-a-day smoker, probably a day, and you can adjust that estimate up or down to fit your own habits.

But, it also depends on the cartos. Do you have the Fusion cartos, or rhe MaxxFusion cartos? MaxxFusion cartos will last for 250-300 2-second puffs, tested and guaranteed. Fusion carts are more inconsistent, and aren't tested to guarantee their puff-count, but are usually between 225-250, Ish. Extra Ish.

You will notice a definite drop in vapor when it's running dry. You might want to try a fresh battery, in case it ran low before the carto, but over time you'll learn to tell which one it is.

idk. I was using a kamel carto, and it tasted kind of sweet to me at first, almost reminded me of cotton candy or something. Then after a while it changed flavors, and it almost tastes kinda like what I imagine the burnt plasticy taste is. BUT I don't have any grounds for comparison, so idk if it's just how they taste and I'm not used to it, or if there is something wrong and I should stop using the cartomizer. This was probably after two 10-15 min steady vape sessions
