A gallon of PG and VG is a smart thing to buy. You can get gallons for about $25, or $6/qt, shipped. You can easily pay $20/qt with shipping. And when you start making up samples, and maybe putting aside base mixes (nic/pg/vg ready to flavor) you can stockpile some. With your child you might not want that to get too out of hand though, at least the stuff with nic in it.

A $50 liter of 100mg nic, at 3mg, usig 15ml a day, is a 7 year supply. it's sort of a one time lifetime buy when you are ready for that. You can vape hard, unflavored, for about $50/year. The flavoring is where the money is.

I don't know what brand of flavoring Clo is using, but I have these links for flavor suppliers, the prices are better than the one she mentioned (which I am guessing are rebranded tfa)

Thanks! Yes I am not sure if they are rebranded, but I just did a one stop shop for my first go around. If I get to where I am making something good, I will definitely look to save where I can. While I am on this adventure I am also going to try vaping unflavored just to see what I think of it. Never tried that before either. If push comes to shove, heck, I'll go unflavored if it will last me a looonnnnnnngggggg time :)

My goal right now is a few very simple flavor recipes I really like. That maybe require me to purchase just a few flavors. Right now I'm doing pretty well rotating between a few. If I can do that I think I will be set. But I know we never seem to be able to stop at just a few...but I will tell myself this is my goal. Lol!

Hopefully you won't catch the bug many DIYers, including myself, catch. I started off with 14 flavors. I now have well over 100 a long with 2 gallons of VG and 1.2 liters of 100mg Nic. Every recipe I see online, I'm missing something and I have to go order it. I rationalize it by looking at my signature that states I've saved over $900 bucks in 3 months from not smoking. That and I'm no longer paying $22 bucks for 30ml of overly sweetened juice from the vape shops.
In all honesty, its become a great hobby for me. Enjoy!

protip....

if you want high vg juice but the thickness is causing issues.. use a little bit of distilled h2o and it thins it up rather nicely.

This worked quite well for some juice I already had that was very high VG. I don't even notice the flavor being toned down at all with the addition. Thank you for this tip. :)

its a way to stretch out juice w/o really noticing a loss in flavor. ive heard up to as much as 10% and have used that myself w/ no issues... mostly i do about 5% or so though.. gets it nice and thin.. wicks better.. and tastes great.

i think it allows the flavors to marry a bit more/better. brings out some nuances that might not be noticed before it..

I bought a lock box today too to put all of this stuff in so kid and animals can't get into it all. Of course my child doesn't want to go to bed yet, so I'm having to wait to start. Like a kid in a candy store. Geez. Well my first experiment is an easy strawberry menthol, hope it turns out good!

Alright...fingers crossed. First little 10mL batch of strawberry menthol eau de Clo has been made. Lol. I'm going to let it steep for a few days before I try it. Exciting! Hope it doesn't suck!

You should try it fresh. Menthol doesn't really need to steep nor does stawberry. They will mellow with age but should be worth a vape fresh. Plu you can see if it betters with age. I personally like the sharpness of menthol fresh
