Ok, quick run down. I am a 50 day noob. Only have used the Provape with LR cartomizers.
Ordered a 510 Riva from LIberty Flights and received today. (back up and wanted to see differences)

I have the atomizer that came with it (never used this before)
I ordered Joye510 cartomizers (not LR as I understood I should not)

2 pieces to the atomizer, upper mouth piece with batting inside, lower burner part
1)WHERE do I fill this ?? batting?? or do I drip onto the atomizer (dripping I presume)

2) the 510 cartomizers are TOTALLY different from my 510 LR boge ones.
I did watch videos on youtube(similiar ones cartos, not exact of what I have) and it appears that I have remove the top piece with hole and the next piece with 2 holes and then I am left with that center plastic one that I have to take a pin and puncture a hole in that and then fill with a needle?????
I tried running a little juice down side (ina a hole) and the juice just ran out the threaded end....
and apparently they are not filled, per website statement.

Can this really be TRUE???? All this to fill it????
(compared to my LR with soft tip that I drip around the edges into the filling)

3) I cannot use my LR 1.7 cartomizers on this Riva with 750 battery, right?????

Lordy, I thought I had a idea on some of this....and I know I must be missing something!!!
Can't figure out how to fill anything to use/try the Riva!!!

I wanted some different experiences, but I did not expect I would be asking these questions right
off....help!!!!...I want to go to the casinos tonight!!! and last trip my 2 batteries for the Provape gave up
right in the middle of my gambling! (10 hours of use though)

Granny,
You have purchased an XL carto for eGo/Riva.
You need a syringe to fill the carto exactly as you described. Cozzicon has a video of the procedure around here. I agree, it's a PIA.

Here's his video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAO1DkJSUWU

OK, I'll jump into answer your question about the Joye cartomizers. I've never filled from the top using a needle. I always fill from the battery end by dripping drops into the hole. Works like a charm, doesn't take long and isn't messy. One wipe from a kleenex when I'm done and its all cleaned. One drop at a time (it REALLY doesn't take long at all). About 25 drops fills a new carto. Refilling is usually 10 drops for me but I do prefer to refill before I think its going to go dry. When the drops stop soaking in easily its time to stop. I also find its better if I fill and let set for at least a few minutes before I start to use it. Only a tiny bit of trial and error on filling them and it works like a charm for me. Jumped back into edit this. If you did purchase XL cartos I do beleive you do have to use a syringe to fill them but if they are regulars you do not need a syringe.

You can use your LR 1.7 cartos on the Riva BUT you do run the risk of causing your battery to not be usable any more. Its a decision you have to make for yourself if you wish to take the risk or not. Some people feel its worth the risk, while others wish to play it safe and hopefully keep their batts lasting longer.

If you are going to drip I'll leave those instructions to someone else. I often use my atty and cart. You fill the cart with about 6-8 drops of juice and then insert the batting and place a few more drops of juice in top of the batting. You want it moist but not with liquid pooling on top. When your vapor production goes down or you still to taste a dry taste(don't wait until its REALLY dry!) top off the cart with a few more drops. It does take a bit to get used to it but for me, it works fine. When using a new atty be sure you blow out any primer fluid or else it will taste VERY nasty. AFter you've filled the cart place 2 or 3 drops of liquid in the atty, put your cart on and vape !! Again, it does take a bit of practice but its hard to get the hang of it.

t9c....
I cannot believe it!! Why in the world would a company make something sooooo hard just to fill??
They are not prefilled, so it's not like they are going to get my business to buy some more prefilled ones!!

Ok, I did try to "drip" on the atomizer one....blew it out first....3 drops of juice....ok and then
after about 5 good pulls, I inhaled again and thought I was going to pass out!!!!!
It nearly knocked me out of my wheelchair! (lol)
I guess you do NOT run out of juice when dripping!!!

Next I guess I will try that batting fill....does the juice then just drop down on the atomizer when it needs juice??
I sure DO NOT want to inhale again without plently of juice on that thing...

If nothing else, I sure have learned that I will take EXTRA special time to answer those brand new noob questions!!! I truly can understand they don't understand!

LOL! Do you have a drip tip yet? Yes, drippng really does gobble the juice, but it tastes so good!!!

re: cartos, I have several collecting dust. Once I started dripping, I couldn't be bothered with carts/cartos anymore.

You can also pull the tip off and drip onto the atty, then replace the tip, but ready made drip tips are so much easier.

Ok t9c...I did order a drip tip from ProVape, clear one. BUT...it does not appear to fit into the atomizer very well.
There is a oring there, do I keep pushing into that oring fits down INTO the atomizer....????
AND
Do I get a rope and tie my bottle of juice around my neck ??? It appears that I will have to have it every 3 minutes or so??

LOL...what I mess, it sure was easy with my Provape, but "inquiring minds want to know".!!

I have been tring to get a Reo Mini...but just not fast enough. I 'm fixing to hire me 3 young teenagers
with FAST fingers for tonight!!!!!!!
Granny has just been thru tooo much and need that simple push bottle, get juice, get vape!

Yeah, I lick the end with the o-ring 1st to lube it, then just push hard onto the atty. Some atties have a slightly different diameter than others, so experiment. This is a QC issue and quite common. Nothing to do with brand.

I think you'll get a few more than 3 hits off 3 drops, but not like 10. If you're hitting it that much (like me) you could use a feeder.

A bottle on a lanyard sounds like a great thing to have!! I bet you could drill a hole in a squeeze bottle cap and run a string through it, then hang it around your neck.
edit: on 2nd thought, the bottle tip rests against the cap top, so it won't work. Maybe just a sleeve on a string would do. They do make these for eGo/Riva's. They might fit a 6mil bottle.

Oh dear, Granny! ;)

Some of the drip tips I've had you really have to jam on there to start out with. Eventually the o-ring wears in enough to get it on and off without much effort.

Ok...got it, licked it, stuck in down hard on the atomizer. (not quite there but almost)
Dropped me some juice in the end...it took 5 seconds to trickel down into the atomizer...I kinda thumped it and
it went on down.
Took a drag...taste was very much improved over the cartos....but this cannot be what all you youngsters
are sooooo happy with! Is it??

Lord I am going to cause a scene tonight with security and those eye in the sky cameras at the casino!!
Round silver things, needles, syringes, bottles with some kinda liquid in them....hmmmm, need to
check that old lady out!!
Security...!! go to machine 5061, bring the Narcs with ya...something funny going on there...

Granny, did you like dripping as opposed to filling carts/cartos?

Also, you can just blow on the end of the tip to push the juice down. I prefer wide mouth tips so I don't have to do this anymore. Tips are so cheap (LF has them for about $2, you could get several different types and see which one you like best. I know, it never ends...

edit. Aside from that, I always drip with LR atties. It just works better for me. I know there are concerns by some with the eGo/Riva, but I haven't had any problems. I'm using Cisco LR510 and 306 atties now.

dripping....how do I say this ?? it's appears at this time, to be a pain in the hinny.
I absolutley have a much better taste factor from the juice. It is the first time that
chocolate, tasted like chocolate! Lately, with the cartomizer, all juices were beginning
to taste a whole lot alike, so I can say that taste is much better.
So I will leave the jury out on that at the present time.

Now back to those XL cartomizers you have to fill with a needle thing....I absolutely think this
is not the best a manufacturer could do! Why so hard to fill, compared to the soft tip ones!
I got the center hole large enough to fit the needle into it (thank the lord some juice vendor sent
that to me for free) and then injected some juice into it. Well all appeared to be ok, took some
vapes and then I felt this liquid dripping down my fingers. Apparently I have overfilled it. No way
to tell that like I can with my other cartomizers...
So tomorrow...find a vendor with soft tip regular cartomizers (not LR)...and get those on the way.

Thanks so much for all of your input. This morning has been very much a experience and I still have
alot to learn! As always, you guys/gals are great here!
I gotta get ready for my trip to the casino...gonna get me lotz more money for all the new vaping supplies
I am gonna need!
