Oh dear. Im guessing you are trying to quit with cig a likes? I tell you, i myself have tried it along with coworkers. We are all heavy smokers and ALL of us ended up throwing in the towel and went back to analogs, alcohol and [moderated].

I try to advise those who are thinking of quitting to stay away from those since minimal satisfaction if at all can be gained from those kits. I recommend any eGo battery, (1000 mAh for us former heavy smokers that will end up chain vaping from the start), any tank system like the Vivi nova for ease of cleaning and refilling, and an extra eGo batt for back up. I also recommend the MVP which has variable voltage if you have the time to research the proper atty resistance for certain wattage for optimal performance.

You can do it. Not saying its easy to quit but you'll notice a huge help and difference when you get a decent kit. Good luck!

Just give it a whirl another time. I tried 3 or 4x with e-cigs, finally kicked the .... a few months ago. First week was toughest, but when that craving hit, just used the e-cig. Fell off the wagon a few times the first 2 weeks, but the last time I tried it on the 2nd week, the cigarette just tasted nasty, and finally have no desire to go back. My 'quitter' equipment was 2 ego c twist 1000 mah batteries, along with some of those clearomizers. Went thru a ton of different juices, for the strong urges, I used "USA's E-liquid flavor" from vapehut.com. Also there specialty cinnamon was good. Found myself using watermelon wave from pink spot vapor alot, (tasted exactly like a watermelon jolly rancher). You'll thank yourself if you can kick it, no more coughing up crap in the morning, and u can wear your shirts 2 or 3 days before they need a wash.

I recommend buying a Ego or Mod. Can start with a cheap one if you would like. They are a lot better then them 808 trendy types like Blu, Greensmoke, ect. I started with a vapor4life 808 and I spend roughly 60 bucks on junk. I went back to smoking newports for awhile. I did some research and bought a Ego style 510 and some different options for cartomizers/clearomizers and it was much better all for a cheaper price.

Savoir-Faire is everywhere!
I'm roughing it out, too, but I'm still determined to give it my best shot.

I've deliberately researched the non-sweet options for juice (which is MY main issue) and I'm hoping they arrive soon. I got a little hope tonight when someone mentioned somewhere else that they couldn't taste the flavor anymore after a day or two. Than emboldened me to try to keep sticking to the same flavor until my new ones arrive...lol I know, it's probably weird for me to choose to do that BECAUSE the flavor went away for them but hey, whatever makes me try harder.

I figure it's going to take me some experimenting and some back and forth between analogs and the vape until I hit it right but it's worth it because I feel like some sort of leper or something when I'm around people because I still smoke. Everyone thinks they need to come and tell you how bad it is for you and how much it stinks and how disgusting it all is...like we don't already know.

I tried a cigarette look-alike from the grocery and it was too strong for me to hit without coughing every time. I got an eGo Vision Spinner and it's pretty easy. I know it's just down to finding the right juice for me and possibly the mix of PG and VG.

Do what you need to do and no one will judge you, though. The only one who can tell you whether it's right for you is YOU and that's what ultimately matters. :)

Which kit did you buy from Virgin Vapor? Some of them look OK so maybe it's just the juice? The most expensive starter kit has Joye Tech VV Twists. If that's what you have, have you tried backing down on the voltage?

Perhaps you should try some sampler juice packs from different vendors? I'm a newbie also in the hunt for juices that "fit" me. I just ordered sample packs from Halo Cigs and Alice in Vapeland. Both companies have good reputations.

I have the Kangertech kit that ScandaLex suggested. That's a good price. Works well for me. 3.7v regulated - not variable.

I have not seen this person post again, I sent him a pm to see how is doing but no response. I hope he can find a e-cigarette that will help him. I know there are a lot of systems out there that will be better than what he bought for the same amount of money.

To the OP, lets us know how you are doing, let the ECF people help you. You can think of us as a support group. Call it Cigarette Anonymous. We are here to help you through the tough times.

Anyway you go good luck, don't be afraid to send a pm out or just post.

If you like you can give up. It is your funeral anyway. But remember, there still is a very good and cheap device with very good vapour (provided you can find the good juice). you will not smoke an analog after you find them. because you will hate it. You will breath right, you will not have cough fits in the morning you will taste, smell etc. My friend we are not here to sell you something we are trying to help you quit stinkies.
Try to read more about how people tried and what they did to find right equipment.

Hi. I am sorry that you have spent so much on cig-a-likes, they areally are just barely good enough to get people started. Honestly, I did a bunch of research before I bought and decided on 1100mAh twist-style batteries and a Kanger Protank 2 with a box of extra heads. Got three juices from the vendor as well, a B&M. The first week was a complete mess, I burned the heads out, tasted terrible and thought that the industry wasn't really 'there' yet. Did a lot more research and upgraded to cartomizers and cartotanks and got some better juice from Mount Baker Vapor. Far better, but not ideal. Tried some juice from Moon Mountain Vapor and am starting to feel that I may be starting to catch on. I have not found nirvana yet, but it is steadily getting better. Please don't give up, roll your sleeves up and do some research and get yourself a good, inexpensive rig that you can practise on. Get some good juice, make your mistakes, learn more and you will get there, promise. Good Luck and Have Fun!

Wow!
You guys are the best. I can't tell you how much I appreciate all your help and encouragement and really sending out some great information.

OK. I'm giving it ONE MORE TRY! I got alot of info here and will try to whittle it down to what I believe would work for me.

All my best to all of you,
Tovah

I'm glad you're not giving up. The starter kit I linked you to will not disappoint. I've a few friends I've sent in that direction as well but had to start them off with my juice until they got to a store to get their own.

I've purchased several of these kits and gave them away to other friends who didn't have the finances to get them.

Funny thing, even though I've moved away from these kits I still keep buying them. Sometimes it's not very practical to carry a bigger mod in the street.

The Innokin MVP posted is also awesome. You can't go wrong there either.

Anyway I leave you with these words.... We are here for each other so PLEASE don't beat yourself up.

Sorry to hear that you're having such a rough time. I vaped three Blu disposables and knew this was for me, but the output on ciga-likes was not going to do it even though they had such a familiar feel in the hand. I was close to getting an eGo/808 setup but seeing as that was just a mid point for people who I thought shared the same habits/desires, I just skipped to the Mod phase. I found a VV that I liked, and I couldn't be happier! I'm getting the plumes of vapor that I wanted, and I just have to recharge every few days since my batteries are so big.

I wish you the best of luck!

Just my two cents worth... The juice is key, you smoked two packs of cigarettes a day, not vanilla beans. I like Halo Tribeca, and if you smoked menthols then they have some good options there too, you need to find something that replaces the taste which is extremely hard to do but is made a little easier when coming from menthols. I was put off by anise flavors in tobacco juices, couldn't stand them and still can't although strangely enough I don't mind absinthe juice, just as long as it doesn't try to mimic tobacco.

A local shop has a juice called Nashboro which is a decent analog replacement, tastes kind of like an ashtray but, you know, it actually helps somehow.

Then there are strong non tobacco flavors like cinnamon and mint, these really help changing it up and are both in my routine.
I've wasted a lot of money on juice that I can't stand but some of them I'll turn around months later and try one again and like it, or at least use it as a mixer, which is where a lot of them wind up. I enjoy some sweeter juices now but at first they didn't help at all.

As far as equipment goes I still use the ego twist and some old 650 batteries (they're small). I take at least three devices to work with me topped with dripping atties like the stingray or a vivi nova tank on at least one. I still like my ego batteries with vivi novas or little dripping atomizers even though I have RDA's and tanked RBA's.

The other thing, and this is probably quite controversial is that since I'm not much of an absolutist in anything I still haven't really QUIT smoking entirely. I know lots of people who smoke and I don't get bent out of shape when the urge strikes and I bum one off somebody. This used to lead to me running out and buying a pack but now it just tastes like crap, especially the fire safe chemical on the newspaper they roll them with now. I can't believe more people can't taste that stuff...

If you do really want to quit altogether and you fail in that then you know what? You get another chance. Just like trying to switch to vaping, if it doesn't work with what you have then try something else, it's still got to be cheaper than cigarettes these days. I've trashed a lot of stuff, if it doesn't work and I don't like it then out the window it goes.

I haven't tried the AIV stuff yet but it's on my list and from what I hear it does require some steep time.

Anyway, good luck and like they say try try again.

I started with Blu and Mistic, and they didn't cut it for me either. The people hear told me to get an Ego Twist (some of the other stuff mentioned here was not out yet). That is what made the difference for me. Once I got that I could take a bit of time to learn before buying a mod, or several.

Mt Baker is a good place to try juice to try to find something you like.

Hey Tovah, looks like you have got lots of great advice here so I'm glad you're sticking with it. When I first picked up a kit I wasn't sure I'd stick with vaping because there were so many options and I was overwhelmed with the new terminology, but I have a setup that I'm satisfied with (for now) and it makes all the difference.

I also recommend the iTaste MVP (v1) with a Kanger T3s clearomizer. The MVP can look a little intimidating and is kinda hefty for some, but the battery life is huge. The T3s is easy to fill and all you have to replace when it dies is the bottom piece.

Best of luck!

edit: For e-juice, I agree with the other recs for Mt. Baker Vapor - good value for money and fast shipping. I also really like Seduce Juice though, I find the flavors to have more depth than MBV.

If you like tobacco flavors, both of those vendors have some, but the one I like the most so far is Kustom's Are Why For (RY4). Kustom also has one called 'Whatchamacallitobacco', the tobacco note in that was too strong for me but it was otherwise really good as well.
