ok what are 5v box mods???

I use mine every day, I love it. It is basically a batter box that can hold a couple of batteries and the electronics to drive the led and the atty. The big advantage is battery life and that the batteries are cheaper to buy. 5 volts is my sweet spot. I get just the hit I am looking for from it. I go all day without changing batteries and I am a heavy vaper. If take take a bunch of extra batteries I can go camping and not worry about a thing for days on end.
The downside for some is that, well it's boxy. They are also getting hard to come by.

that's the problem, I know that there is a guy named Ken who someone linked to and his were almost exactly like mine. I'm pretty sure he is still making them and the price was great. I made a swap for mine, from an ECF member that made it to my specs. I'll look around and see if I can find a site for you.

My 5v box is from Ken. I can tell you he has excellent customer service. One of the Ultrafire batteries I ordered from him was DOA, and he replaced it right away. The box looks great, I really like the switch and the on-off ability. All together the box, 4 batteries, and the charger was $67 with priority shipping. If you build it yourself, it could cost as little as $13, but I didn't want to chance it, so I just ordered everything from Ken. I'm a medium vaper, and my batteries last about 2 days.

What is a trex? You dont mean a Trekk do you cause they are 5v.

I wouldn't rush to buy a 5V when variable voltage mods are getting more common. The 5V will be old news.
Propts to Mad Vapes as well............and they have a "How To" section to help with each step. I started with a simple AA box mod, use it with a LR atty to hit the sweet spot. Just traded some attys for a 5v box to see if I wanted to get a HV mod. Yes I do!!!!
I'm thinking the same thing and I have never bought a commercial mod.
Ken is like us but made a go at it and has done well......I like the wheel to adjust it vs. something like the buzz where you need a little screwdriver....
As I was typing this it hit me. I may just take my 5v box mod and replace the regulater with some type of dial!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats what Im going to do!!!!!

To start if you have not.........a LR atty on your eGo....that will simulate the higher volt vaping we are going on about.
